The Pudding.
How Bad Is Your Streaming Music?
Our sophisticated A.I. judges your awful taste in music.
Data questions? Answers and privacy policy here.
The Pudding is a digital publication that explains ideas debated in culture with visual essays.
This is a satirical project and does not use real artificial intelligence, but a faux pretentious music-loving AI. The code creates a custom blend of jokes from our database paired with the insights found in the artist, album, genre, and track data from your Spotify or Apple Music.
This project does not save any Spotify or Apple Music data. When you log-in with Spotify or Apple account, it creates a special, one-time code to read your top songs and tracks, as well as recent playlists. That access goes away until you come back.

What is Judge My Spotify? How to get your music taste roasted by hilarious AI
The end of the year Spotify ‘Wrapped’ roundups had listeners enjoy a report of their 2020 music habits, but there’s now an AI program that’s slamming people’s choice of genres, artists and trends in the year.
While everyone has bands and artists close to their hearts, the new AI project ‘calculates’ just how basic someone is simply by compiling what they’ve been hearing the most throughout the year.
So far, everyone gets a bad report. But the site connects to your Spotify account and then highlights specific artists that you might be listening to a bit too much compared to the rest of your digital music library.
If you’re brave enough to find out how your 2020 Spotify playlists hold up to the AI judge, then take a look down below for what to expect and how to get your music taste roasted by it.
How bad is your Spotify?
To get the process rolling, all you need to have on hand is your login information for Spotify. After that, it’s a simple matter of giving the site permission to access your account data and everything related to your activity.
Expect the program to uncover all of those guilty pleasure listens, too. Even the “mainstream garbage” that you only dabbled in for a few releases (like Taylor Swift’s new albums) — those will be taken into account too.
Go to The Pudding’s site for their Spotify AI here, then plug in all of your info before getting one of the saltiest report cards for your favorite music.
The site has even been trending on Twitter with a ton of people getting their results to see how they stack up against the program’s calculations.

How Bad Is Your Spotify? AI: This savage bot will roast your music choices!
So, you thought your Spotify Wrapped was bad? Try this ‘How Bad is Your Spotify? AI’.
Some say tough love is the best kind of love, and this Spotify AI is evidence of that…kind of. The AI was developed by digital publication The Pudding, and was trained by Mike Lacher and Mat Daniels in the art of roasting.
The bot makes some savage analysis of your Spotify playlist, after you give it permission of course. Warning: none of your favourite artists are safe.
How to use the ‘How Bad is Your Spotify? AI’
The bot is available to use through this link here. First it will ask you to log in to your spotify account, before then searching through all your listening history.
There can be a wait for this though, as Spotify only allows so many account access at once, but just hang in there. If you’re trying on a phone, it may be quicker to load it on a computer or laptop.
Next comes the questioning from the bot: “Did you really listen to Be Happy by Dixie D’Amelio? Like ironically?” We’re just going to say yes (it definitely wasn’t).
Then a game of f***, marry, kill comes along with some of your favourite artists. The main prize however is the hyphenated insult it hurls at you, and they don’t hold back.
The How Bad is Your Spotify AI will lastly give you a percentage of basicness based on your music.
How badly do they roast you?
I mean you did sign up for it so you can’t complain, but some of the roasts are truly savage. Fans have been taking to Twitter to share their outcomes.
