В чём разница между spend time и take time

Бывает такое, что люди принимают не только похожие слова, но и фразы за одинаковые по смыслу или просто не понимают, что конкретно они означают. Spend time используется, когда вы хотите сказать, что кто-то тратит/проводит время. То есть сначала вы говорите КТО, потом SPEND TIME и дальше можно упомянуть, на что или с кем это время тратится/проводится.

We Have an Inaccurate Perception of Time

The truth is that until you know how long these trivial, daily tasks take, you won’t really have an accurate idea of how much time you have for the top priority items. We all seem to have a false sense of how long it actually takes us to do things. That’s why “just give me five more minutes” rarely actually means five more minutes.

It may seem silly to time yourself completing these everyday happenings, but in the end, you’ll be glad you did. You may even find an extra 15 or 30 minutes that you didn’t know you had. Until I timed my daily tasks, I didn’t realize that I would have an extra 10 or 15 minutes each morning after getting ready for work. Now I use that time to read, which means I can read a couple extra books every month by using time I never knew I had.

Your life shouldn’t be so robotic that you develop an ulcer from all the stress of completing everything right on schedule, but you should get an idea of how much time it really takes you to do the things you do.

Just be careful. Figuring how long it takes you to do these things could lead to:

It may sound silly, but knowing where your time goes is just as important as knowing where your money goes. That’s why you budget your money. This is like budgeting your time, or more like logging your time expenditures.

This is a common question asked by many students, but the answer is subjective depending on your current ability and what score you need to reach. A student aiming for a 6.5 overall may need to do more work than a student who requires a higher score, because their current ability is worse.

We recommend that students spend at least 6-8 weeks preparing for the IELTS exam, focusing on basic grammar, reading speed, test strategies and writing skills. Each part of the IELTS exam is different, so ensure you fully understand what is expected of you.

Need help with your writing ability? These four tips can help you improve your score and be prepared.

1. Take your time before you choose an IELTS exam date

It’s important you give yourself enough time to prepare for the exam. Take the time to decide whether it should be two, four or five weeks away – do set a date though as it is important to give you something to aim for. Four weeks are more than enough to prepare for the IELTS writing exam.

2. Take IELTS lessons

IELTS classes can help you learn faster and put you on the right track. It means you will avoid studying irrelevant areas and common mistakes will be corrected quickly. Teachers can also help build your confidence and the overall quality of your English will improve. Take an IELTS practice test to assess your writing skills.

3. Plan your writing

You are required to answer two questions in the writing section – task one and task two. Task one is a 150-word question for which you have to spend 20 minutes. You will be given pie chart, bar graph, diagram, map etc and the Task two is a 250-word essay question for which you have to spend 40 minutes. You will be given a topic and have to write a short essay.

4. Use the correct grammar & spelling and write formally

A huge importance is placed on using correct and formal English. Your overall score will be penalised if the wrong spelling and punctuation is used. Try to use colloquial words and expressions

Individuals who have finished their schooling from an English medium school usually need less time to prepare, while individuals who lack fluency may need up to four months. It’s vital to get a grip of the language first and then start preparing for the IELTS exam.
