HeY ;! Everyone ✬ How old is your son? asked a 50 year old man to his neighbour.
Neighbour replied :- » My son is 5 times as old as my daughter and my wife is five times as old as my son. I am 2 times as old as my wife whereas my grandmother, who is celebrating her eighty-first birthday is as old as all of us put together».
How old is the neighbour’s son?
Need a suitable answer with logic.
✭ A 50 year old man asked his neighbour how old is his son?
✭ His neighbour said that his son was 5 times as old as his daughter
✭ His wife was 5 times old as his son
✭ He is twise as old as his wife
✭ His grandmother’s age is 81 which is equal to the sum of the age of all others
To Find
◈ Age of his neighbours son?
Soluti on
◕ Daughter’s age = x
◕ Son’s age be 5(x) = 5x
◕ Wife’s age = 5(5x) = 25x
◕ His age = 2(25x) = 50x
☯ As P er the Question
The sum of the ages of all these 4 members add up to the age of their grandmother who is celebrating her 81st birthday
➝ Daughter+Son+Wife+Him = Grandma
➝ x+5x+25x+50x = 81
➝ x = 1
So now substituting the value of x in the Equation for son’s age,
➳ Son’s Age = 5x
➳ Son’s Age = 5(1)
➳ Son’s Age = 5 years
∴ Son of the neighbour is 5 years old
Similarly we can also find the age of,
»» Daughter = x = 1 year
»» Wife = 25x = 25(1) = 25 years
»» His Age = 50x = 50(1) = 5 0 years
Verifi cation
⪼ Daughter+Son+Wife+Him = Grandma
➠ 1+25+50 = 81
GIVEN:
EXPLANATION:
Let the age of neighbour’s son be A, the age of daughter be B, the age of his wife be C, and his age be D.

Read the biography of Sir Paul Getty and mark ( ) sentences 1 to 6 T (True) or F (False).
Paul Getty was born in California in 1932. He was the son of John Paul Getty, the head of an oil empire and at that time the richest man in the world.
After college and a spell (период) in the US army, Paul joined the family oil business and moved to Italy. Despite his riches, this was a very troubled period in his life. Instead of involving himself in his work, he became part of the hippie drug culture of the 1960s and by the end of the decade he was a drug addict.
Tragedy followed. In 1971, his second wife died from a drug overdose, and two years later his son was kidnapped. Paul’s father refused to pay the ransom ($3 million) at first. Eventually he did pay, but only after the kidnappers sent him one of his grandson’s ears.
In 1986, he became Sir Paul Getty, as a reward for his services to British art and in 1996 he gave up his US nationality and became a British citizen. He died in 2003, aged 70.

Must меняется на had to
Shall на should
Ago – previously, before;
Yesterday – the day before;
Today – that day;
On/next Friday – the following Friday;
Last month – the previous month;
The day after tomorrow – in two days’ time;
This weekend – that weekend;
Tomorrow – the following day / the next day;
Tonight – that night;
‘ I`ll drink milk tomorrow.’ – He said he`d drink milk the next day.
She said, ‘I like to live here.’
She said she liked to live there – она говорит, что ей нравится жить там.
She said she liked to live here – она говорит, что ей нравится жить здесь.
При образовании косвенной речи из прямой, такие глаголы как ought to (должны), would, might, could, should – не изменяются.
Why, Where, Who, When, What
She asked what was the time.
He asked me how was my mother.
He asked me how my mom was.
He asked how my mom was.
IF И WHETHER ПРИ КОСВЕННОЙ РЕЧИ
Tell, warn, instruct, order, command–
‘ Could you pour me water, please?’ – He asked me to pour him water.
He told me to give him the book – онвелелмнеотдатьемукнигу;
He asked me to give him the book –

He said, «I will return your book tomorrow.»
He said that he would return my book the next day.
