Unlearning the life-long habit of sleeping dry isn’t possible for everyone(based on my personal web searching). I have had fairly good luck after two years of trying by following these methods that worked for most who claim success doing this.

Desire is most important, you must want this with all your heart. You must willingly accept all the implications it brings, and there can be many that you may not have considered, such as the possibility of daytime accidents when you are distracted or fully immersed in other thought. This is admittedly rare but it has been reported. There will be extra expense in related items such as bedding and laundry. There can be a social cost as well since voluntary adult bedwetting isn’t considered acceptable by most people. Unless you use some form of protection your mattress will need frequent replacement and there will be a persistent odor to consider.

Prompting the event is next, so drink plenty of water before bedtime. Get used to going to bed without emptying your bladder. Relax as much as possible before going to sleep. Some regress to an infantile state, some diaper, and some do nothing. The best level of success seems to be regression, with diapering next. If you drink alcohol, this can help you relax as well as add to your bladder’s fullness. Do anything within reason that helps you sleep without worry, or that promotes deep sleep. It has been recently found that most bedwetting children sleep so deeply that they become unaware of their body’s minor sensory inputs, such as the feeling of a full bladder or a moderate touch. Some are so unaware of theirself that they can be picked up without noticing. The depth of sleep is related to one’s bladder control, so this depth of sleep is to be encouraged. The sucessful use or diuretics has been reported but this is medically unsafe and not recommended.

Persistance is necessary, this may take years to do, and for some it is unachievable. A small percentage are successful in under six months; most take one to two years. Longer than that and you aren’t likely to achieve this goal. Even in the unsucessful cases there are usually a few bedwetting incidents over several years time. When you achieve any success, reward yourself as a form of positive reinforcement. Don’t let your persistence turn into anxiety as this tension will inhibit your effort to relax. In time you will probably succeed.

Part of sleeping dry is a learned habit and part is physical. Like any habit, you can learn to do whatever you desire within your physical capacity. We all started life without nightime bladder awareness and control, so you can learn to go back to this state. Reinforcement can help, such as pre-wetting before going to sleep, wearing diapers, or using matress protection as reminders that this is what you want to do. If you choose the infantile approach, other childish items may also help.

Your brain causes your body to excrete a hormone shortly after going to sleep that signals the kidney function to slow down, and it also signals the bladder to hold it’s function until waking. This hormonal production grows with time and takes effect at different ages, which is why children do not all stop bedwetting at the same age. Those who wet the bed later in life use this hormone less effectively and are more successful at becoming bedwetters again. This is beyond your control and seems to be the reason some are unsuccessful, as they always wake when their bladder signals fullness. Another physical aspect is in the nerve connection between the bladder and the brain. In most this is a clear and strong signal, while in others this signal may not relate to the bladder’s state of fullness correctly. If you were a late bedwetter, or experienced general incontinence later than most children, you are more likely to be successful in ignoring this signal while asleep.

Other physical aspects are psychological in nature. If bedwetting is repulsive to you either conciously or unconciously, you will have a harder time becoming a bedwetter again. Some have overcome this through the use of self-hypnosis tapes, CD’s, or audio files which can be found online. Once again, the level of success varies with the use of these aids. Other psycological aspects can be fear of becoming incontinent at other times, the fear of discovery by persons you don’t wish to share this with, shameful feelings, and the real loss of social acceptance in personal relationships. There are others, but this last named reason is probably the one you should most consider before embarking on the path to bedwetting again.

There are very few people who can accept their partner’s voluntary bedwetting on an everyday basis and it often leads to the loss of relationships that you would have otherwise benefitted from. Unless you are truly ready to deal with this I recommend that you do not follow this desire to it’s end as some have found that they were unable to change back to nocturnal dryness after learning to wet in their sleep again. One method that works for some, and the one I use myself, is learning to wet in your sleep but only when wearing diapers. This isn’t totally effective as there will be accidental undiapered wettings, unwanted leakage while sleeping diapered, as well as dry nights while diapered. This seems to be more socially acceptable than unprotected wetting but still carries a large risk of social loss of a partner’s affection.

In conclusion learning to wet in your sleep again is achievable for most, but not all. There is a lot of ‘baggage’ that goes along with it which must be considered before attempting this goal. As small as it may seem this can lead to large changes in your life and some will be unwanted. My recommendation for those who truly wish to try this is to go slowly rahter than quickly so that you can reverse course should you find the costs outweighing the benefits. To those who deeply desire this and are willing to accept it’s many implications, I wish to encourage you to go get what you really want from life, no matter what others may think of it. Your life is yours to live as you wish so long as you aren’t harming anyone else in living it your own way.

How I Became A Chronic Bedwetter

So I just want to make a quick disclaimer at the start. This post is telling you how I, personally, started wetting the bed every night. To my knowledge, nobody else has tried doing this method, and even the people I have shared this with previously who wanted to do it never actually went through with it, so I’m pretty sure I’m the only one who has done this. I tailored this method completely to myself and can’t tell you that this will work for everyone because nobody else has ever tried it.

Some of you may have originally seen this method on a WordPress site I made back in 2016, as I uploaded it there originally and it got about 500 views, but because of so many requests, I decided to rewrite it and post it here on Tumblr : )

In my strong belief, everything about each kind of untraining is hugely mental in nature. There are physical elements to it, like muscle degradation, but like 80% of untraining is essentially just retraining our body and our subconscious mind into accepting and embracing incontinence.

What I did to start bedwetting was kind of prey on and take advantage of my subconscious in a way.

For a period of about a month straight, and I do mean a month, I drank a lot of water before bed and then went to sleep without a diaper on. As you can probably imagine, all that water before bed caused me to wake up in the middle of the night with a pretty strong urge to go to the bathroom (if you are not a light sleeper, this wouldn’t work). What I did was, instead of wetting myself as soon as I woke up like other guides mention (which would have been a bit unpleasant anyway as I wasn’t wearing diapers), I made myself get up and walk to the bathroom to use the toilet instead, every single night.

Finally, after all that, the end of the month came, and I introduced diapers to my probably completely exhausted and unhappy subconscious as an easy out to its current predicament. For those unaware, our subconscious mind will pretty much do anything it can to avoid pain or discomfort, and it will do everything it can to use as little energy as possible in running the body.

On that first night after the month of hell, I wore diapers to bed.

Like before, I drank a lot of water before going to sleep, and also like before, my body woke me up with a very full bladder. What was different this time though is that instead of making myself get up and walk all the way to the bathroom to use the toilet, I just let my bladder go and very happily wet my diaper while still laying in bed, before going back to sleep.

The next night I did the same thing again. I drank a lot before going to sleep, and I wore a diaper to bed. This time though, I didn’t wake up during the night at all. I awoke actually feeling pretty refreshed for once, which in itself was a relief because I’d gone so long waking up exhausted, but that wasn’t the only thing that had happened. My diaper was completely soaked when I woke up.

This was the turnaround point in my nighttime incontinence. I had put my body and mind through hell for an entire month, before showing them both that there was a much easier way to deal with the problem than waking me up.

From that day onwards, I started waking up wet more and more. I was still having dry nights here and there to start with, but as my body kept learning and kept finding no problem in making me wet while still asleep, it kept happening again and again.

Over the course of months after that day, my body got fully in the habit of making me a complete bedwetter, because why would it ever wake me up when it was so much easier to just make me wet myself in my sleep? I went from three to four wet nights a week to it being incredibly strange to wake up dry even once or twice a month. I even had to get thicker, more absorbent diapers because my body just stopped holding anything back, and it wasn’t uncommon at the time to wake up in a leaking diaper in the morning.

So, that’s how I became a chronic bedwetter almost four years ago. I don’t think I would really recommend my method because it was just so bad dealing with all the sleep deprivation, but I can’t argue with the results that it has given me. Becoming a bedwetter was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made in my entire life, and I’ve never once regretted it in all this time, even on the mornings where I wake up in a wet patch because my diaper has failed. There’s just something about it that is so insanely special to me, and unlike making yourself incontinent during the day, which I wouldn’t recommend to everyone, I would recommend becoming a bedwetter to anyone who has the interest. It’s really not that big of a deal to have to wear diapers to bed every night, and the happiness and satisfaction I get from waking up in a completely soaked diaper in the morning is just totally unmatched.

PrincessArya, I have posted this before so I will not go into detail Secondary nocturnal enurises (sleep wetting after been potty trained) is all about reducing vasopressin production. This

Just a reminder that it’s not just wearing diapers for bed. It’s also wearing diapers on a plane. Or in a car on a long trip. Or when you sit down on a Sunday morning on the couch to watch a game.

For the past several years, yes years, I’ve worn 24/7 nearly 100% of the time, including to sleep. During that time, I’ve wet in my sleep a handful of times, sometimes twice in a week or 3 or 4 times in a month.

Until the last three days. I’ve gone to in a dry, fresh diaper. I’ve woken up in the morning in a cold soggy diaper. I know I was a frequent bedwetter until nearly 4 years old, and had accidents after that, but I have no memory of ever wetting the bed or my diaper two nights straight, let alone three.

I don’t mind, in fact my only complaint is that when I do wake up, I still have to pee! I don’t like that uncomfortable feeling when you wake up and your bladder is yelling at you to be emptied. And with my diaper already wet, I don’t dare soak it further. At least not until I get some better overnight diapers.

Just thought I’d share, figured a few of you might be interested.

About 2 months ago, I started wetting the bed every night, and not by choice despite being a DL. I just never seem to wake up anymore and my bladder just let’s go. I never really woke up before, I could always just hold it until the next morning.

Well, I finally got a possible cause from a urologist. Nocturia, the overproduction of urine at night, combined with sleeping deeply, and my bladder just overflows before I wake up.

I wet the bed for the first time in about 7 years last night, had surgery the day before and was indent hint from hospital, was advised to wear a pad to catch the bleeding (operation was down below), my mum let me wear diapers and decided it would be best if I use them at night since I’m drinking a litre every hour or so, long story short I went changed out of my wet diaper and layered up 2 for over night, was peeing like a racehorse so I was wet before I drifted off, but I woke up soaked through my double diaper and on the verge of leaking.

Hopefully this is a one off night wetting due to the situation at hand as I still enjoy control and not having diapers rule my life

No worries, you could be in a worse boat; besides your case joe, that had to hurt. For me, I contracted the worst form of the flu that struck the Chicago-land area in late December 2014. By this, I’m referring to the fact I was ‘sicking’ a lot, along with a case of bowel incontinence due to my body trying to get rid of the bug (with the occasional blood release). Sadly(or possibly lucky) for me, it left me with partial bowel incontinence. I always have to be near a bathroom, it is always the runs, despite any amount of fiber, and to top that off, I also have a weak bladder that only sends me signals seconds from release.

Actually, you’ll love this bit. You know how some people get sick on roller coasters? Something else happens for me. For me, I realized too late I had a fear of roller coasters. Luckily I was wearing dark jeans that day. If only I played it safe.

Why not get a part time job to pay for diapers. You can try to drink a couple of glasses of water and just go if you feel the urge without moving positions.

Seriously, don’t get your parents involved to support your fetish, that’s just wrong.

Hi there AdapterTwenty. It looks like this is your first and only post here, and I think you’re making a big mistake with what you’re looking for. I’m gonna talk a bit about why I think it’s wrong and then make some suggestions at the end if my post. I hope we can give you some support here at Adisc, and help you come to a healthy approach to your interest in diapers.

——
Now, I think this is absolutely the wrong way to go about this, and it’s important that you understand why because you could cause yourself several problems.

First, it’s wrong to involve and deceive your parents like you’re planning. If you start wetting the bed, they will be very concerned and worry that you are having medical problems, as it can indicate a bad infection, among other things. You won’t end up with diapers, but with doctors appointments that will be a source of expense, worry, and hassle to your family.

Second, depending on your family, this kind of deception could lead to anger and harm your relationship with your parents in the long term.

Third, if you did take steps to become a bed wetter, it’s not an easily reversible process. You could suffer a great deal of regret and inconvenience in the future.

Fourth, you talk about shame in your post, and I assure you that trying to change how your body works and involve your family will not lessen that shame. At all.

What I think you should do us talk a bit more about your current living situation so that we can discuss good ways to deal with your desires. It would also be cool if you wrote yourself an introduction in that forum.

It’s important to understand that there’s nothing to be ashamed of about wanting diapers or wanting to wet the bed. It’s unusual, but if you approach it thoughtfully, it doesn’t hurt anyone and can be a healthy source of comfort and stress relief.

I suggest that if you have some money saved, from either a job or allowance, that you buy your own diapers. Basic ones can be found at any drug store and they’re not very expensive.

Let’s leave it there until we can get a bit more info.

TLDR: don’t try to start bed wetting, it’s okay that you have these desires, and you should take responsibility for them yourself and buy some diapers with your own money.
