Soooooo I have literally NO IDEA now to put anything on this app. None! And it could be so useful to!😃well, that is IF I KNEW HOW TO USE IT 😠. Missing features and performance

I’d love to stick to the default file manager over some third party app, but in its current state its extremely limited.

Features seem lacking as well, especially for power users. I’d like a similar experience to finder on Mac. Being able to see file extensions, hidden files, etc would be nice too. File management feels pretty clunky, but I suspect that’s a side effect of being on iOS rather than the files app itself, but it would be helpful if it were a bit more intuitive and snappy.

Disconnects from other services way too often

I set up this app to be connected to my Dropbox and Google Drive apps so I can easily select the direct files from them when uploading images and the like. When it works, it works like a charm, but when it doesn’t it’s a nightmare.

One second I’ll be posting images from Dropbox, the next nothing will load anymore for no reason. I go back to the main screen and select the Dropbox option, and nothing happens. It just stays highlighted forever until I select something else. I enable and disable Dropbox but it doesn’t work.

The only solution is to either restart my phone or delete the Dropbox app and reinstall it, both of which are tedious and annoying to do. This happens at least once every day, and every time it’s extremely annoying. I just don’t understand why.

Just got it to work

I’ve worked in IT for about 20 years(not a boomer. GenX). This took me longer than necessary to get working on my iPhone. Like the other reviewer, downloading the app was easy. Connecting to the WiFi was easy. However, the App could not connect to the camera.
Fix for iPhone only: within iPhone settings, scroll down to find the XDV App. In its settings, turn on Local Network. Done.
Other phones may have something similar. So, if you run into the app not finding your camera, look for that other setting. Good luck.
Once it is working, I recommend downloading any video to your phone, before trying to play it. The streaming takes longer to get the video ready to play, than it does to download, then play from the iPhone. Very short test video.

Aside from the App, you can connect to a PC(probably Mac too), via USB. Then, Power the camera on. Select USB Mode. This method, you can simply use it as a flash drive to get to your pics and videos.

1-2 stars for setup difficulty(lack of instructions really).
4 stars for ease of use and quality of video. Not too bad.
5 stars for the design. Accessories. And operating system on the device.

Amazing camera! I know I already wrote an review but here’s another. Okay first of all. All of you people out there writing bad reviews because your camera doesn’t work, READ THE INSTRUCTIONS!! I mean come on?! you are voting this badly even though you don’t know how to work it. Second thing, If you want a cheap GoPro that works great, buy this camera!! Such amazing quality for a sports camera! Is waterproof (with the case on) and portable. And finally, I would like to see you add a feature where if you connect the camera to the wifi, it will automatically use that camera for different apps. (That probably makes no sense but thats how i’m describing it lol.) Anyway, thank you for your time.

Watch out for scammers

I got a call from Apple, saying that someone was trying to buy stuff from my bank account. Freaking out, they told me to download this app. I noticed it had a 2 star review. I started to wonder, “wait, y is APPLE calling about suspicious activity. Isn’t my bank supposed to call about suspicious activity? Also, I’ve never had to download an app before, when Apple helped me”. I decided to read the reviews. (Just in case it was legit, I told the woman that it was taking a long time to download, so I could buy time to investigate). I seen a bunch of people saying that this was an app scammers used. I then said to the woman, “Sorry ma’am, but I seen that the reviews were talking about scammers using this app. How do I know ur really apple?” She immediately hung up. I called apple, & my bank, to make sure all my stuff was secure. My bank said everything was ok, & big surprise, Apple said that they had no records saying they called me. About a year ago Apple called me & I asked if they were legit. The person talking to me was super nice, & gave me lots of proof. If u get a call, don’t hesitate to ask, “how do I know this isn’t a scam”. & if things aren’t adding up, hang up, & call the company (to see if they really called u).

Don’t Be Confused

I know it most likely won’t do much, but as a technician that has used TeamViewer as a service for years, I’m leaving this review in hopes that some people will realize this app is legit. Yes, there are malicious individuals that will abuse the features of this app to scam, but this app is designed for people to get assistant with various functions of their device. It is not the banks fault that you handed a random person the key to your home, so please don’t hate the company or the developers all because a malicious third party that is completely unrelated to them tried to scam you. Their product is solid, and does what it says. Like I’ve said, I’ve used TeamViewer for years and never have had an issue. Just don’t give personal information to absolute strangers that you haven’t verified and you’ll be fine. Also, when you search “Apple Support Number” and tap on a number that belongs to apple, in the small box that pops up asking if you want to call them, it will even say “Apple Verified” on iPhones running iOS 13 or later, so I don’t know why people keep saying “I called the first number I saw and got scammed”. Anyways, stay safe, and ALWAYS: 1. Verify 2. Verify 3. And most importantly, Verify.
