Fractured item
Fractured items are of a special type of item base that was introduced in the Synthesis league. Fractured items have at least one affix that is permanently fixed on the item. Fractured items were used to create Synthesised items in the Synthesis league.
Currently, items with fractured mod(s) are dropped in Heist, or created via harvest crafting.
In the Synthesis league, fractured items could be found in memory zones, and some unique items dropped as fractured items.
Mechanics
Fractured items have its own symbol before and after the item name: .
Fractured items can have one permanent «Fractured» mod (up to three fractured mods for legacy items). These mods cannot be removed (by Orb of Annulment or
Orb of Scouring, etc.) or changed by
Divine Orb in any way. The mod is gold in color.
When using an Orb of Scouring on a fractured item, it will turn into a Magic item if it had one fractured mod or a Rare item if it had two or three fractured mods. (For crafting purposes, players could create a Rare item with one fractured affix by using a
Regal Orb then an
Orb of Annulment).
Fractured items cannot be turned into unique items with an Orb of Chance.
Fractured items can drop in Heists currently and never could have an influence.
When harvesting Ersi, Mother of Thorns, it would reveal a one-time use crafting option, which transforms an item’s base into a fractured base and locks in one of its modifiers.
Fractured items cannot be influenced using Elderslayer’s Exalted Orbs or Awakener’s Orb. Influenced items also cannot be fractured using Harvest crafting.
Fractured items cannot be used in split the item beastcrafting recipe.
The following properties are no longer in the game. They were available in past leagues only.
What is fracture and how to use for crafting?
Anybody knows what does fracture does and how to use it for crafting?
Should i farm t1 seeds only and ignore t2/t3/t4 seeds?
Fracture and Synthetized are two mechanics introduced back in Synthesis league. Since Synthesis didn’t go core, some players who didn’t play «the worst league before Harvest» may not know about them.
Basically:
> A Fractured modifier will be in red instead of the ordinary blue. A Fractured modifier cannot be changed: you can scour, alter, chaos or modify in any other way that item, but the Fractured Mod will remain. Back then items already dropped Fractured with 1 to 3 Fractured mods, random, and was considered a good improvement for crafting back then. Nowadays, Harvest allows you to make the first modifier of your item a Fractured modifier. We have also seen how this could be abusable because of poor implementation. Fractured Items, while they have a special graphic about them, are NOT influenced items
> A Synthetized item is an item that was created by combining 3 other items with Fractured mods. The Fractured mods were significant in choosing the number and possible outcome of the new implicit that would overwrite the Synthetized item’s Implicit if any. This was not really useful when going with items that always had implicit (like rings and amulet), but came very handy with most of armour, helmets, gloves and boots which had none. Nowadays, the only Synthetized item a player can find is from a Fractured Memory boss (Cortex/memories), and the implicit on the dropped item are completely casual. Despite the graphic effect and Venarius’ orb on the item, a Synthetized item is NOT an influenced item

Wow thank you for the clear explanation.
So aim i right to assume that only NON-INFLUENCED items benefit from fracture and synthesize crafting?
Well, you would have been right in this were it not for the fact that there is a certain guide on the internet (pretty sure was also in General Discussion here) on how to exploit a glitch in order to take a single non-fractured modifier and use horticraft in order to turn it into a Fractured modifier. This was possible even with Incursion modifiers, so I guess if you really like a certain Influenced modifier (like Explosions from Body Armour), you can work it in order to turn that modifier a Fractured.
Don’t remember if they actually fixed this glitch, though.

PoE Fractured Fossil VS Mirror Service, Use, Drop & Price
Fractured Fossil is a fossil type. Fossils are a special type of currency introduced in the delve league that can be socketed into resonators to modify the crafting behavior in specific ways. Fossils can also add special Delve modifiers.
Fractured Fossil VS Mirror of Kalandra Service
Mirror of Kalandra copies an already-finished item and the result is predictable.. However,
Fractured Fossil craft a random item and copies it afterward. The result of Fractured Fossil is unpredictable.
Mirror of Kalandra can be used for any type of items. However, fossil must be socketed into Resonator to influence item crafting. It can only influence normal and rare items.
Fractured Fossil is still insanely useful. You could use it on a 6 Link body armour and at worst you have two 6L body armours. At best you have two insane 6L body armours.

Farming Fractured Fossil in Azurite Mine
The drop location of Fractured Fossil is Azurite Mine. Standing on any Waypoint, click the flashing candle icon: «Click to travel to the Mine Encampment», then you will go to the Azurite Mine.
There are two ways to obtain Fractured Fossil.
1. Purchase from Niko the Mad
Sometimes, Niko the Mad sells a Fractured Fossil for 1 000 000 Azurite. Niko is one of the five masters. He provides introduction to delves and appears when harvesting Voltaxic Sulphite. He also sells Fossils and Resonators for Azurite.
In addition, you can also exchange currency items for it. The price of Fractured Fossil is 1.3 Exalted Orbs.
How to use Fractured Fossil?
Place a Fractured Fossil in a Resonator to influence item crafting.
Effect: Creates a mirrored copy
When a Fractured fossil is used in a resonator, a mirror copy of the item in question is created, but since you have to put it in the resonator, the resonator actually re-roll the mods on the item. The mirror copy will adopt the new mod.
Basically, you’re using Fractured fossils to get a copy of the item base, socket, and enchant as a guarantee. Add RNG to the new mods.
You can also roll the mirror copy «might» roll by adding other fossils to the mixture with resonators, but depending on the fossil, this can be an expensive attempt.
Fractured Fossil Service
As a result, service providers often say they can control the results (only to a certain extent), and the items listed on the services often have the «of the best roll/outcome» potential.
They usually say it’s worth it and for the cost of several Exalted Orbs or hundreds of Chaos Orbs. If you use these orbs to buy Fractured Fossils, you may make your own POG items.
There are few opportunities to obtain good mirror services. It will only list the item base and tell you exactly what you may obtain.
Fractured Fossil Use Suggestion
Do not buy mirror services.
If you have enough Exalted Orbs to buy Fractured Fossils, you can buy a desired decent item directly using these Exalted Orbs.
If you have farmed a fractured fossil, just sell it when the price is still high and use the Orbs to get something of long-term value.
If you absolutely want to use one of these mirror services, know the risk: the result mirror item maybe not you wanted.

1. Fractured walls
Fractured walls can be found hidden in dark areas. They will be marked on the minimap if you are close enough and and hovering over it will show the wall’s health bar. These walls can be destroyed with a dynamite. Behind fractured walls are rare loot containers and sometimes, a hidden path to an inaccessible checkpoint.
There will always be at least one fractured wall in grids that do not contain checkpoints.

2. Hidden path
Some checkpoints have no paths leading into it. This means it is hidden behind a fractured wall. Once the wall is destroyed, players can send the Crawler to that checkpoint.
To find the hidden wall more easily, note the path creation rule:
If a checkpoint has 2 paths, it is likely that there is a hidden path near it. If there are no checkpoints with 2 paths, check the checkpoints with 3 paths. It is also possible for a checkpoint with a single path (which is usually a dead-end) to contain 2 hidden paths out of it.Rarely, an overly long path to a hidden node can be generated and result in a dead end node having a single hidden wall and creating a 2-way node.
3. Behind Fractured Walls drops

4. Use Dynamite to destroy fractured walls
Dynamite is used to destroy fractured walls, which are hidden in dark areas off the path. Each wall takes only one dynamite to destroy. Dynamite can also be used to deal damage to enemies.
Dynamite capacity, radius, and damage can be upgraded with Azurite.
5. Fractured walls related quest: Niko’s Explosives
Niko’s Explosives is an optional quest.
