Nightblood
The Nightblood Potion
The location of the Shadowtrainer is right behind this grate
The Nightblood potion is an item used to obtain Shadowcasting in Deepwoken, the fifth Attunement which one cannot start with.
Obtaining
To get the Nightblood potion, you will have to gather 5 Umbral Obsidian. This is usually dropped by Monsters, and the easiest way of gathering it is grinding Megalodaunts at the Viper’s Jaw, Erisia.
Once you’ve gotten the 5 Umbral Obsidian, you must venture down to The Depths. The safest way to do so is by taking a Whirlpool, as this ensures that you do not lose anything from your inventory.
The next step is locating the Shadowtrainer. To find her you will have to enter the City of the Drowned. The district is a little more empty than the rest, and has yellow-colored rooftops, making it easy to find. From there you will also have to watch out for Watchers, as they can be a nuisance especially this far into the journey.
The best tip for this is to hug the wall (the one opposite of the elevator) until you find the entrance to the Shadowtrainers cave. (See picture)
After finding them, simply give them the 5 Umbral Obsidian, receive the Nightblood flask, drink it, and there you have it.
You’ve officially obtained Shadowcasting!

Mantra Modifiers
A rather foolish individual using quite a numerous amount of items to upgrade a mantra.
Mantra Modifiers are items that can be used to expand the potential of the player’s Mantras. Each modifier has an effect that it can positively/negatively attribute to the player’s Mantra. These can easily be found by killing most enemies, and can also be found in Erisia Chests. In order to add Mantra Modifiers, a Mantra Table is required.
There are currently three types of mantra modifiers; Regular, Deep Gems, and Sparks. Regular and Spark modifiers are used at a Mantra Table and are consumables. The player will not receive the modifiers back when an Amnesiac Driftwood is used. Deep Gems can be equipped at a Campfire in its insignia slot. Recalling a mantra with a Deep Gem will return the Deep Gem to your inventory.
Heavily modified mantras will require Note offerings to be made. To see their prices and scaling, review Mantra Table.
Glass Stones and Magnifying Stones seem to have vastly different effects on mantras, ex: Glass Stone / Magnifying Stone
Keep in mind not all mantra modifiers are obvious and may not work correctly or as expected even if a Mantra is compatible.
Regular Modifiers
Most regular modifiers come in a basic version (ex. Cloudstones) and an upgraded version (ex. Stratus stones). Exceptions to this are the Amnesiac Driftwood and Vibrant Gem. Basic modifiers increase a mantra stat by (+2) and decrease a different stat by (-1) except for Glass Stones and Vibrant Gems. Upgraded modifiers will increase a mantra stat by (+3) and will not decrease a different stat.
The player can put up to 3 of the same modifier (A player can do 3 of everything if they feel so inclined). Please do note that adding more Modifiers will increase the Ether cost of the Mantra and may exceed your maximum Ether. This downside can be alleviated (but not negated) if the player have the legendary talent Neuroplasticity, which reduce the ether cost associated to mods.
Unknown whether or not Sparks count towards the 6 modifier limit.
After modifying a mantra and finishing its creation, uncompatible mods on the table will turn black when the mantra is granted, voiding any of their effect.
Applying Amnesiac Driftwood on a mantra will remove all previous upgrades including sparks. Upgrading an already upgraded Mantra will stack onto the previous upgrades.
Note: On the 08/02/2022, T2 modifiers (Stratus Stone, Perfect Lens, Eternal Logstones, Rush Shards) were given downsides, similar to their T1 counterparts. These numbers would be appreciated.

Only 1 Gem can be equipped on a single mantra. Note: Once you put a gem in a mantra, you can just click recall mantra in a campfire and you have your gem in you inventory. Deep Gems are obtained by Depths Monsters with a low drop rate. For more information on Deep Gems, click here
SparksSparks are modifiers that are only able to be used on specific mantras. If the modifier cannot be applied to the specific Mantra you use it on, a message appears reading Incompatible Ingredients, and you will lose the spark and other modifiers involved.
