Texas Holdem Rules: Everything You Need to Win

Imagine this scenario: your friends invited you to a poker night. There’s going to be food, booze, and poker. You want to join in on the fun, but you have no idea how to play poker. Well don’t worry about missing out on beer and bonding: I’m going to teach you how to play Texas Holdem, so you too can partake in the poker festivities.

Texas Holdem (aka Texas Hold ‘Em) is the poker game played most often at casinos and home poker games. Becoming a great Holdem player generally takes years of practice and studying, but learning how to play doesn’t take long at all.

In this article, I’ll walk you through the Texas Holdem rules. After studying this article, you’ll be able to play online, at a casino, or with your friends. Hooray! Remember, just knowing the rules won’t make you an outstanding player, but you’ll be able to play, and you can get better through practice.

How to Win Texas Holdem

The goal in poker is to win as many poker chips as you can, one hand at a time. Typically, different chips will represent different denominations of money.

You can win chips by having the best 5-card hand or remaining in a hand and having all the other players fold, meaning they give up instead of risking additional chips.

The 10 Possible Poker Hands

In Holdem, each player is dealt 2 cards (“hole cards”). Then, up to 5 community cards will be flipped in the center of the table. I’ll thoroughly explain the concept of community cards later, but Texas Holdem rules dictate that your best 5-card hand out of the 7 total cards is your final hand.

These are how all the different poker hands rank. The Royal Flush is the best hand and the worst is “high card.”

#1: Royal Flush: A, K, Q, J, 10 all the same suit (all clubs, all diamonds, all spades, or all hearts)

#2: Straight Flush: Five cards in a sequence (example: 5, 6, 7, 8, 9), all the same suit

#3: Four of a Kind: Four cards of the same rank (example: four kings or four 8’s)

#4: Full House: Three of a kind and a pair (example: three jacks and two 7’s)

#5: Flush: Five cards of the same suit (example: five clubs or five hearts)

#6: Straight: Five cards in a sequence but not of the same suit (example: 7, 8, 9, 10, J)

#7: Three of a Kind/A Set: Three cards of the same rank (example: three 5’s or three kings)

#8: Two Pair: Two different pairs (example: two 6’s and two 9’s)

#9: Pair: Two cards of the same rank (example: two queens or two 10’s)

#10: High Card: If you haven’t made any of the above hands, then your highest card determines the strength of your hand. (Example: if your highest card is an Ace, you have Ace high, and you would beat another hand in which the highest card was a King and none of the other hands were made.)

If multiple players have hands that are ranked the same, the best hand is determined by the highest card within the hand.

For example, if each player has a pair, then the highest pair wins. If somebody has a pair of 7’s and somebody has a pair of 5’s, the player with the pair of 7’s has a better hand. If two players have a pair of 7’s, then the player with the highest other card wins.

If you’re comparing two straights or flushes, then the player with the highest card within the straight or flush has the better hand.

If you’re comparing two full houses, the player with the highest card in the three of a kind has the better hand.

In most hands of Holdem, the winning player will only have a pair, but if you play long enough, you’ll see every type of hand.

Texas Holdem Setup

Holdem can be played with 2-10 players at a single table. Players sit around the table. Before beginning playing, each player purchases his chips.

The Dealer Button

At a home game, the dealer button is placed in front of the person who will play the role of the dealer for that hand and bet last after the initial round of betting. After each hand, the dealer button moves to the left.

At a casino, there will be a casino employee who will deal each hand, and the dealer button is solely used to determine who will bet last. Again, after each hand, the dealer button moves to the left.

If you’re playing a home game and don’t have an official dealer button, you can use any object to function as the dealer button. Just make sure not to use one of the same color chips that you’re using to place bets, so you don’t confuse the dealer button with a bet.

The Blinds

Blinds are the initial bets at the table. At the beginning of each hand, two players will post bets before any cards are dealt. These bets are referred to as the small blind and the big blind. The player to the left of the dealer button posts the small blind and the player to the left of the small blind posts the big blind. To post your blind, just place your blind in front of you on the table.

The purpose of the blinds is to stimulate betting. The blinds guarantee that there will be chips to win in each hand. Also, extremely conservative players are forced to make bets and can’t just play for hours without risking any chips.

Betting Rounds

Texas Holdem involves four different rounds of betting. In each round, you normally have 3 options: you can fold, raise, or call.

If you raise, you increase the bet by at least the big blind. In no limit poker, the most common type for casinos and home games, you can bet up to all of your chips. If you bet all of your chips, that’s called going all-in. In limit poker, you can only raise by a predetermined maximum amount (normally twice the big blind), and there’s only a certain number of raises allowed per betting round (usually 4-5 bets per round).

If you fold, you’re giving up your hand instead of betting additional chips. When you fold, you put your cards face down in the center of the table. Never show your cards to anybody else, even when you fold.

Additionally, if nobody has bet in a round, you can “check.” If you check (just say “check” or knock on the table), you’re keeping your hand and going to the next person without placing a bet. Typically, people check if they have a weak hand or they want the other players to think they have a weak hand (they’re trying to get other players to bet). You can also check if you’re the big blind and nobody has raised the big blind by the time betting action reaches you.

Betting Round 1: The Pre-Flop

The pre-flop betting round happens after each player receives his 2 cards and before any community cards are turned. Cards are dealt to the left (clockwise), one at a time, starting with the small blind.

Betting action starts to the left of the big blind. That player has the option of calling the big blind, raising, or folding. After each person has had a turn and all remaining players have bet the same amount, the betting round is over. If somebody raises, the next person has to call the raise, raise again, or fold.

If nobody raises the big blind, the big blind, who is the last person to act, can check and the betting round will be completed. But the big blind still has the option to raise. If he raises, then the remaining players will have to call, raise again, or fold.

Players bet by placing their chips in front of them. At the end of the round, all the chips that have been bet go into the center of table and are referred to as “the pot.”

At any point during any of the betting rounds, if all players fold, then the last remaining player wins the pot and the hand is completed. You start a new hand instead of continuing with one player.

Betting Round 2: The Flop

Three community cards are flipped. Every time community cards are flipped, the dealer should use a “burn card.” The burn card is the very top card on the deck. The burn card will be placed face down, and then the next three cards will be placed face up in the center of the table and will be the flop. The flop is the first three community cards.

After the flop is dealt, there’s another betting round. Action will start with the first remaining player to the left of the dealer button. The same betting rules apply: players can bet, fold, or call. If nobody has placed a bet, a player can check. Again, once each player has had a turn and everyone has bet the same amount, the betting round is completed.

Betting Round 3: The Turn

The dealer burns a card and then flips the top card next to the flop. The turn is the fourth community card. Then, there’s another round of betting. All the same betting rules apply. Again, action starts with the first remaining player to the left of the dealer button.

Betting Round 4: The River

After burning a card, the dealer flips the top card next to the turn. The river is the last of the five community cards. Then, there’s one final betting round. All the same rules from the previous betting rounds are used. If there’s more than one hand remaining at the end of the round, there’s a showdown.

The Showdown

In a showdown, the remaining players show their hole cards, and the best hand wins the pot. The best hand is determined by comparing each player’s best 5-card hand from their 2 hole cards and the 5 community cards. If their hands are ranked the same, the player with the highest card within the hand wins.

If the players have identical 5-card hands, then the players will split the pot.

Also, if you don’t want to show your cards, you can “muck” your cards (place them face down in the center of the table) and automatically lose. You can do this if another player shows a better hand and you don’t want the other players to know how bad or good your hand was.

How to Play Texas Holdem: Summary

In Holdem, every player gets two cards, called “hole cards,” and the rest of the cards are “community cards,” which means they’re used by each player to produce the best possible five card hand. After the blinds are posted, each player is dealt two cards face down. Cards are dealt one at a time, clockwise, starting with the small blind.

After everyone looks at their hole cards (never show your cards to anyone else), there’s a round of betting followed by “the flop.” For the flop, three cards are flipped from the top of the deck in the center of the table. After the flop, there’s another round of betting.

Then, there’s “the turn.” For “the turn,” one additional card is flipped and placed next to the last card of the flop. Then, there’s another round of betting.

Finally, there’s “the river.” For the river, one last community card is flipped and placed next to the turn. The flop, turn, and river are the five community cards. Players use their hole cards and the community cards to determine their best 5-card hand. After the river, there’s one final round of betting.

If there’s more than one player remaining after the final round of betting, players show their hole cards, and the best 5-card hand wins the the pot. If all players fold before the end of the last betting round, the last remaining player wins the pot.

4 Very Basic Texas Holdem Strategies

Now that you’ve got the basic Texas Holdem rules down, it’s time to start thinking about strategy. As you become a better player, you can vary your play and develop an individual style, depending on what works best for you. However, following these strategies as a beginning player will normally give you your best odds of winning or minimizing your losses. Remember that these are just general guidelines for beginners to simplify the game.

Play Tight (Especially Pre-Flop)

You should only place a bet pre-flop if you have a good starting hand. Generally, good starting hands are pairs, at least one Ace, or two face cards. If you’re in the small blind, if there isn’t a raise, it’s typically in your best interest to call the big blind and see the flop.

After the flop, don’t bet or call unless you have at least a pair. One notable exception is if you have at least 4 of the same suit or 4 in a sequence. Then, you have a decent possibility to make a flush or a straight. But if there’s a big bet or raise ahead of you, you may not want to call just to chase a flush or a straight. If it’s a small bet, it’s probably worth it to call.

Play Aggressively When You Have a Good Hand

This means that if you have a good hand, you should raise or bet. If you have a good hand pre-flop, raise 2-3 times the big blind. If you have a good hand post-flop, raise at least half of the pot. A good hand post-flop is at least top pair, meaning that one of your hole cards pairs with the highest ranked community card.

If you have a good hand post-flop, don’t just check or call. You should bet or raise. You can try to get fancy and check raise, meaning that you check, and then after a player bets, you raise his bet. But normally only more advanced players use this move.

If You’re the Dealer, Use Your Position to Your Advantage

If you’re on the button (the dealer) or close to it, you can decide what to do based on the other players’ decisions. If everyone in front of you checks, it’s possible that nobody has a good hand and you can try to take the pot by betting. The assumption being that if you bet, everyone else will fold. If multiple people in front of you bet or raise, you can assume that somebody has a strong hand, and you should only call or raise if you have a very strong hand.

Don’t Let the Outcome of Previous Hands Determine How You Play Your Current Hand

In poker, even if you make the right play, it’s possible for bad things to happen. For example, if you fold a 5-7 pre-flop and three 7’s come out on the flop, that doesn’t mean that you made the wrong decision, especially if there was a raise before you folded. The odds of three 7’s coming out on the flop were incredibly low.

Similarly, if you bet a good hand on the turn, then a weaker hand calls and ends up beating you by getting a lucky card on the river, you didn’t make the wrong decision when you bet after the turn.

It’s important not to let unlucky or lucky outcomes in previous hands influence your decisions. Focus on making the right play in that situation, and you’ll give yourself the best chance to win.

Заканчивается раунд торговли, когда все покеристы, желающие продолжить игру, наивысшую ставку уравняли. Если ставку игрока никто не уравнял, а все противники спасовали, то он выигрывает банк.

Флоп – это второй игровой раунд, когда в открытую на стол выкладывают три карты. Игроки составляют комбинации путем усиления своих начальных карт. Затем начинается 2-й раунд торговли.
Всем активным игрокам, которые не сбросили карты, по очереди предоставляется слово по часовой стрелке, но первое слово теперь достается участнику, сидящему от дилера слева. Если он скинет карты, то право хода сдвигается автоматически по часовой стрелке до активного игрока.

Участникам предоставляются аналогичные действия, как и на префлопе, в зависимости от действий покеристов, получивших ранее право хода. Завершается раунд торгов, когда все участники ставку уравняют. Если все противники перед повышенной ставкой игрока спасовали, то он выигрывает пот.

Затем следует терн, когда на стол выкладывается в открытую еще одна карта. Игроки могут из шести имеющихся карт составить пятикарточную комбинацию. Торговый раунд похож на предыдущий, отличие состоит только в количестве игроков, принимающих в торгах участие. Зачастую остается их немного.

В раунде ривер игроки осуществляют перед вскрытием свои последние ставки. Все карты открываются. Тот игрок первым открывает карты, который совершил последнюю ставку. Если не было ставок в последнем раунде, то участник, сидящий от баттона слева по часовой стрелке, открывает карты первым.

Собранные игроками комбинации сравниваются, выносится решение о том, кто победил. Игрок может забрать или весь банк, или его с кем-то поделить.

Комбинации Техасского Холдема

В Техасском Холдеме составляют Хай комбинации или классические покерные руки. Ранжируются они по старшинству, которое показано в таблице ниже.

К концу раздачи участники получают по семь карт. Допускается только 5 из них для составления покерной руки. Участники могут сами выбирать любые карты, которые позволяют получить самую сильную комбинацию в конкретном раскладе.

Как играть в Техасский Холдем

Посадка

Играют в Холдем зачастую 9 или 10 участников. На скриншоте ниже показана для данной разновидности покера типичная посадка. За столом в этом примере сидят 9 покеристов с одинаковым количеством фишек (банком).

Фишка дилера

Диск с надписью «D» или «Дилер» (фишка дилера) – это важная часть игры, так как она демонстрирует, кто занимает позицию дилера (баттона) и сдает карты. Всем участникам придется побывать баттоном за один круг по одному разу.

Если игра идет в казино, то за столом будет находиться профессиональный баттон, раздающий всем, кроме себя, карты. В этой ситуации фишка дилера переходит от игрока к игроку по кругу.

Карты в первую очередь расходятся игроку, находящемуся от дилера слева, а затем по часовой стрелке. На скриншоте выше у игрока 1 находится фишка дилера. В следующей раздаче располагаться она будет у игрока 2, потом у игрока 3 и т.д. Если за столом профессионального дилера нет, участники сами раздают карты по очереди.

В игре позиция баттон является наиболее благоприятной. Покерист на данном месте совершает ставку последним, когда уже увидел принятые остальными решения. Исключение составляет первый круг торгов, т. к. сразу после дилера вступают блайнды.

Блайнды («слепые ставки»)

Перед тем, как участники получат карты, два покериста слева от баттона в соответствии с правилами должны поставить блайнды (обязательные ставки). Они ставятся в каждой раздаче по умолчанию.

Игрок, сидящий от дилера слева, ставит от обязательной ставки половину – малый блайнд. Следующий участник ставит большой блайнд – полную ставку. В нашем примере большой блайнд равен 2 доллара, а малый – 1 доллар.

Раздача

Когда поставлен малый и большой блайнд, всем участникам раздают по 2 карты рубашкой вверх и лицом вниз. Это карманные карты. Согласно игровым правилам, лучшие начальные карты в Техасском Холдеме являются два туза. На префлопе начинается первый круг торгов.

Префлоп (предварительный раунд)

Когда в покере блайнды поставлены и сданы карманные карты, начинается этап торговли. Еще данный раунд называется предварительным. В торговлю первым вступает участник, который от ББ сидит слева.

Поставить он может сумму ББ, в нашем примере которая равна 2 долларам. Еще есть возможность сбросить карты или поднять ставку. Когда участник решает сбросить, он карты сбрасывает в центр стола лицом вниз и ожидает следующей раздачи. Переходит ход к следующему покеристу по часовой стрелке, пока всем игрокам не будет предоставлена возможность совершить ставку, ее поднять или сбросить карты.

Правила проведения торгов для новичков могут быть запутанными. На скриншоте выше можно увидеть, что участники 2 и 3 поставили МБ и ББ. Когда все покеристы слева от игрока 3 решат ставку в 2 доллара коллировать (поставить также 2 доллара), ход переходит к МБ, игроку 2, который поставил до сих пор только 1 доллар.

Теперь игрок 1 решает, поставить 1 доллар и поддержать ставку, ее поднять или сбросить карты, теряя в данной раздаче 1 доллар. Независимо от выбранного им решения, последним ставку делает большой блайнд.

Если участник на ББ (игрок 2) поднимает ставку, то все оставшиеся пользователи должны или сбросить карты, или на нее ответить, или повысить ставку. К примеру, участники 4 и 5 коллируют ББ 2 доллара, но игрок 6 ставку поднимает до 4 долларов. Все покеристы слева от игрока 6 теперь должны или поддержать ставку в 4 доллара, или сбросить карты, или снова ставку поднять.

Игрок 2 уже находится на МБ, поэтому докладывает он только дополнительные 3 доллара. Участники 3, 4 и 5 по 2 доллара уже поставили, поэтому им нужно еще добавить 2 доллара. В соответствии с правилами Техасского Холдема, у них есть выбор: сбросить или поднять. На скриншоте ниже показано то, что может произойти.

После того, как участник 6 совершил ставку в 4 доллара, игрок 7 карты решил сбросить, теперь он вне игрового процесса. Игрок 8 поддержал 4 доллара. Участники 9, 10 и 1 карты сбросили и вышли из игрового процесса.

Участники 2, 3, 4, 5 ставку игрока 6 поддержали. Когда были уравнены все ставки (больше никто не поднимает), завершается первый круг торгов. В нашем примере осталось за столом 6 покеристов, пот равен 24 доллара (6*4 доллара). Участники переходят к следующему торговому кругу.

Когда завершается первый раунд торговли, дилер, в соответствии с игровыми правилами, три общие карты выкладывает в центр стола. Оставшиеся участники данные три карты используют вместе с 2-мя начальными картами, чтобы получить наилучшую комбинацию. Данные три карты называются флоп. На скриншоте ниже показан пример флопа.

На скриншоте видно, что все ставки прошлого раунда составляют банк, равный 24 доллара. Новый раунд торговли начинается после флопа. Первым делает ставку участник слева от баттона. В нашем примере это МБ, участник 2. Больше нет обязательных ставок, а у игрока существует два варианта – поставить в банк фишки или сделать чек.

Чек означает, что покерист в розыгрыше остается без повышения, а число вложенных им фишек соответствует ставкам предыдущих участников. Если человек делает чек, то переходит ход к следующему активному участнику, который также может сказать чек. Если участник хочет пропустить, то говорит чек или по столу стучит пальцами (или при игре в покер онлайн нажимает на специальную кнопку).

Если кто-то начинает торговлю и делает ставку, то следующие покеристы чеком ответить не могут, поэтому должны сбросить карты, ответить на ставку или ее поднять. Это относится ко всем участникам, даже которые ранее выбрали чек.

Когда в этом раунде все ставки уже сделаны или игроки сказали чек, можно переходить в следующий торговый раунд. В нашем примеры покеристы 2, 3, 4, 5 после флопа сказали чек. Игрок 6 поставил 4 доллара, а участник 8 его поддержал.

Карты сбросили игроки 2, 3, 4, но игрок 5 ставку в 4 доллара поддержал. Данные три покериста переходят к раунду терн.

Когда завершится второй раунд торговли, еще одна карта кладется на стол. Называют ее терн. На скриншоте ниже видно, что осталось в раздаче только три участника, остальные на флопе сбросили карты.

Также видно, что сумма банка теперь равна 36 долларов:

Новый раунд начинается после появления четвертой общей карты. Правила раунда идентичны предыдущему. Традиционно торговля начинается с первого оставшегося в раздаче активного участника слева от баттона.

В нашем примере это участник 5, который может сделать ставку или чекнуть. Предположим, что участник 4 чекает, как и покеристы 6 и 8. Когда чекают все игроки, заканчивается раунд и начинается ривер. Банк не увеличился, так как ставку никто не делал.

Ривер

После завершения третьего торгового раунда пятая заключительная карта кладется на стол, ее еще называют ривер. На скриншоте ниже демонстрируется ситуация, когда на стол была положена 5-я карта.

Новый круг торговли начинается с появлением пятой карты. Допустим, что в раздаче участник 5 ставит 4 доллара, а участник 6 еще повышает на 4 доллара (ставка увеличивается до 8 долларов), участник 8 сбрасывает, а участник 5 коллирует и еще докладывает 4 доллара. Когда заканчивается последний торговый раунд с 2-мя или более активными покеристами, мы переходим к финальному этапу игры – шоудауну.

Вскрытие карш (шоудаун)

Когда завершается финальный круг торговли, принимается решение, кто выиграл раздачу и банк. Когда на столе все карты, все участники могут свои карманные карты объединить с любыми из 5-ти общих карт для получения наилучшей комбинации.

Теперь покеристы свои карты открывают. Согласно правилам, игрок, повысивший ставку последним (участник 6), карты показывает первым. На скриншоте ниже два игрока раскрыли карты.

У игрока 5 мы видим стрит (8, 9, 10, J, Q), а тройка (4, 4, 4, А, J) у игрока 6. Стрит бьет тройку (сет) всегда, поэтому игрок 5 в этой раздаче выигрывает. После заключительного торгового круга приз составляет 52 доллара. Игрок 5 получает банк, после чего можно начинать новую раздачу.

Закончиться раздача может даже прежде, чем участники дойдут до флопа. В нашем примере покеристы дошли до шоудауна, но если бы условный участник 5 сделал ставку в 8 долларов на префлопе, которую не поддержал никто (все сбросили), то участник 5 банк бы забрал себе.

Это случиться может на флопе, терне и ривере. Достаточно представить боксерский поединок, победить в котором спортсмен может при помощи нокаута в первом раунде, а может отстоять все 12 раундов, после чего победа будет определена по очкам.

Еще стоит сказать, что если бы до вскрытия карт вы дошли, то даже свои две карты использовать вы не обязаны. Если ваша комбинация состоит полностью из карт, лежащих на столе, то вы играете на столе. К примеру, если 5 общих карт (флоп, терн, ривер) составили флеш роял, наилучшую в покере комбинацию, то все оставшиеся активные покеристы приз делят, вне зависимости от карт.

Виды Техасского Холдема

Техасский Холдем имеет несколько разновидностей, а столы с игрой отличаются особенностями правил торгов. Существуют 3 вида покерных столов, которые между собой имеют серьезные отличия в торгах.

Фиксированный (лимитный)

За данным столом используется два параметра бет. Размеры параметра определяют величину максимальной и минимальной ставки, предел повышения.

Низкая бет или первый параметр действует на префлопе, флопе. Вторая бет – на терне, ривере. Игроки за один ход в банк не могут вложить больше, чем бет, или объявить более высокое повышение, чем ее размер. Этот формат пользуется особой популярностью.

Пот-лимит

За подобными столами вводятся ограничения на максимальную ставку – на потолок ее показателя, на любом этапе торгов она равна величине банка. Чем в торгах больше ставок, тем в банк могут вкладывать больше фишек те оппоненты, которым предстоит сделать решение. В Техасском Холдеме формат пот-лимит используется редко.

Безлимитный

Этот формат ограничивает только минимальную бет, а участники в любой момент раздачи могут поставить все. Правилами регулируется также минимальный размер повышения, который не может быть меньше, чем повышение предыдущего соперника. Безлимитный формат в турнирных событиях и за кеш-столами остается наиболее востребованным.

Профессиональные покеристы специализируются только на одном торговом формате, но встречаются и универсальные игроки. Между столами разница состоит не только в принципах ведения торгов, но и в том, что участнику нужно за каждым из них корректировать стратегию, чтобы игра была прибыльной.

Виды игр

В Техасский Холдем можно играть бесплатно и на деньги в турнирных событиях и за кеш-столами. Эти виды игры различаются особенностями участия и выплатой банка. Начинающие участники зачастую играют в несколько видов игр, но в итоге получают опыт и начинают специализироваться только на одном формате. Игроки могут одинаково успешно играть в турнирах и за кеш-столами, хотя к стратегии они требуют разного подхода.

Кеш-столы

Игрок находит стол, где имеется свободное место, затем оплачивает входной взнос, сумму которого определяют правила стола. Участник получает то количество фишек, которое оплатил.

В каждой раздаче победитель моментально получает выигрыш. Игрок может при необходимости покинуть стол и забрать все имеющиеся фишки. Если проигрывается весь стек или только его часть, игру можно прекратить или докупить фишки.

Турниры

Начинается игра по расписанию (регулярные) или, когда будет достигнуто определенное число участников (SnG). Все игроки в начале события имеют одинаковое число фишек – стартовый стек, который получают они после оплаты турнирного сбора – бай-ина.

Между участниками в процессе игры борьба ведется с целью:

Все выбивающие игроки получают приз, соответствующий занятому ими месту.

Все турниры и кеш-столы с Техасским Холдемом отличаются по стоимости. Правилами кеш-столов определяются размеры блайндов, которые по ходу игры не изменяются. В турнирах с каждым новым уровнем блайнды неуклонно растут, а стоимость определяется значением бай-ина, который относится к призовому фонду. На размеры блайндов стоимость участия в них не влияет.

Смешанные игры

Обычно Холдем в обязательном порядке включается в смешанных играх в состав дисциплины. К примеру, в турнирах или за кеш-столами МИКС формата участники играют попеременно в Холдем и покер Омаха. Он также присутствует в ХОРСЕ, 8-игр, 10-игр.

Живые события

Большинство игроков, которые только осваивают Техасский Холдем в онлайн режиме, мечтают поиграть в живом турнире. В разных городах мира ежегодно проводятся чемпионаты и турнирные серии, где Holdem Texas Poker – это основная дисциплина.

По данному виду покера проводятся главные игры Мировой Покерной Серии, Мирового Покерного Тура и иных крупных состязаний. Вживую сыграть в Техас Холдем можно на крупных событиях в Макао, Сочи, Монако, Лас-Вегасе, где покерные серии ежегодно делают остановки. В онлайн румах можно выиграть на большинство из них путевки в ходе акций или в квалификационных специальных турнирах.

Стратегия игры

Позиция за игровым столом

Чем покерист расположен ближе к баттону, тем его шансы выше на победу в игре. Положение участников в первых позициях для розыгрыша средних и слабых рук по силе опасно. В зависимости от позиции, стол делится на 4 области.

У ранней позиции наиболее сложная игра – это три участника, которые сидят после блайндов. Для них применяется общепринятое обозначение UTG 1-3. Потом идут блайнды, у них слабее позиция, чем у UTG, но последними на префлопе ставки делают блайнды, поэтому принимать могут наиболее выгодные решения.

Средняя позиция, буквами MP 1-3 обозначаются 3 места после UTG. Эти места считаются особенно прибыльными со стартовыми сильными руками.

Самые выгодные – это в розыгрыше две последние руки. Кат-оф и баттон замыкают раздачу, они принимают решение, когда уже свое слово сказали все участники. Лучше всего данные руки подходят для блефа.

Когда число участников уменьшается, позиция UTG сокращается первой, потом МР. Во время игры вшестером остается по одной средней и ранней позиции.

Сила руки

Важно оценить правильно, с какими именно стартовыми руками совершать ставки в зависимости от имеющейся позиции. Ставки в ранней позиции делать можно только с довольно сильными руками:

На позиции МР диапазон рук дополняют все карты старше 10-ки, а также пары, начиная 77 и выше. Увеличивается диапазон в поздней позиции за счет карт одной масти всех пар и карт, способных образовать флеши и стриты.

В ситуации, когда сделана ставка из ранней позиции, ее контролировать можно картами: AQ, AK, TT. Карты JJ, QQ, KK, AA – это для реза правильное решение. С иными руками уходить лучше в пас.

Такие рекомендации подходят хорошо для новичков, стратегия игры с опытом меняется, становится технически оснащенной и более гибкой. Техасский Холдем – это покер, который для развития предоставляет неограниченные возможности.

Игровые правила Texas Hold’em о блефе не говорят ничего, но без данного элемента невозможна успешная игра. Тогда хорош блеф, когда он удается. Действие может быть полезным, когда его вскрывают.

В первой ситуации он способен принести прибыль, а во второй позволяет оппонента обмануть, если изменить игровую стратегию после разоблачения.

Если у игрока нет достаточного опыта, то необходимо некоторые правила обозначить. Этот вид покера ошибок на блефе не прощает.

Существует несколько эффективных систем блефа, но они все строятся на тонком знании психологии и опыте. Поэтому в данную часть игры следует входить аккуратно, а в игре не принимать опасных решений.

Texas Holdem Rules: Learn How to Play in under 10 minutes

Texas Holdem is the most popular variant of poker and the one we recommend beginners start with. Once you have a good understanding of Texas Holdem, other poker variants are quite similar and will be easier to learn.

The object of Texas Hold em poker is to create the best five-card hand using seven available cards. Each player is dealt 2 cards which only they can see and use. There are then 5 cards dealt to the middle of the table which are community cards which everybody can see and use.

Dealer Button

Once the game starts an imaginary dealer is assigned. Obviously with online poker the computer does all the dealing automatically but this nominal dealer is important as it indicates who posts the compulsory bets (known as blinds) before each hand and it also indicates who is first to act in each betting round.

The current dealer is indicated by a disc marked with a “D” known as the dealer button. At the end of each hand the dealer button moves along to the next player to the left of the current dealer and continues to move clockwise after each hand is finished.

The Blinds

In Texas Holdem there are two compulsory bets that are made before the start of each hand. These are known as the “Small blind” and the “Big blind” and ensures that there are chips to be won in every hand.

The player to the immediate left of the dealer places the small blind and the player to the left of the small blind posts the big blind.

Before The Flop – First Betting Round

Once the blinds have been posted, two cards are dealt face down to each player at the table, these are known as “hole cards”. Only the individual player can see these cards.

At this point the first betting round begins and each player must make a decision on how to act based on the strength of their hole cards. They have the following options:

Action always goes clockwise on a table. On the first betting round, the first person to act is the player to the left of the big blind. Each player acts in turn until all the players have acted at the table, and the amount put into the pot by each player remaining in the hand is equal.

The Flop – Second Betting Round

After the first betting round has finished, the dealer places 3 cards face up in the middle of the table – this is known as the “Flop”. The cards in the middle of the table are called “Community Cards” as they are shared by all the players towards making their final hands.

Players can now see 5 cards (2 hole cards + 3 community cards) out of the 7 cards to come and should have good idea of how their hand is developing. At this point the second betting round begins.

In this and all subsequent betting rounds, the action starts with the first player remaining in the hand to the left of the dealer. This player can either:

If everyone checks then this betting round ends with no-one betting. As soon as someone bets then the other players can either:

As in the previous betting round, the plays continues clockwise around the table until all players have called, checked or folded and the amount placed in the pot by each player still in the hand is equal.

The Turn

After the second betting round, the dealer places a 4th community card, face up on the table – this is called the “Turn card”, it is sometimes also referred to as “Fourth Street”.

After the Turn there is a third betting round, which operates in exactly the same way as the previous betting round.

The River

After the third betting round, the dealer places the 5th and final community card face up on the table – this is called the “River card”.

After the River the fourth and final betting round takes place in the same way as the previous round.

The Showdown

After the final round of betting, each player still left in the hand can use any combination of the 2 hole cards in their hands and the 5 community cards on the table to produce the best 5 card hand.

The player with the highest ranking hand wins the pot. If two or more players have the same value hand then the pot is split between them equally.

Next Hand

Once the hand has finished and the pot has been awarded to the winning player, the game moves onto the next hand.

The dealer button moves to the next player on the left of the current dealer, the cards are shuffled, the blinds are posted by the next two players and the cards are dealt again.

Особенности игры

В Техасском покере используется колода на 52 карты. Количество игроков может варьироваться от 2-х до 10-ти. В игре всегда должен быть дилер, его необходимо выбрать заблаговременно, до начала игры. Дилеру не обязательно сдавать карты, особенно если речь идет о казино, где раздача предусмотрена для крупье или автоматической программы в случае онлайн площадки.

Далее игроки делают ставки – блайнды. Фишки становятся основой выигрышного банка. Указанные ставки делаются до того, как игроки смогут посмотреть карты. Блайнды бывают двух типов: крупные и маленькие. Один участник делает маленькую ставку, а следующий слева от него игрок – большой блайнд.

Дилер является динамичным персонажем в игре и меняется при каждой раздаче. Таким образом, все участники Холдема смогут попробовать себя в этой роли. Очередность ходов начинается со следующего игрока, слева от дилера, и движется по часовой стрелке. Когда дилер меняется, то очередность меняется тоже. Раунды торгов – пре-флоп

Игрок имеет несколько вариантов действий:

Второй тур популярной игры, когда на игровой стол поступает 3 общедоступные карты. Их можно использовать вместе с теми двумя, которые раздали в самом начале. Игроки начинают создавать комбинации и могут выбрать «чек». Это значит, что Вы остаетесь в игре без повышения ставки. Но только в том случае, если Ваша ставка соответствует размеру ставок предыдущих участников.

После этого право хода переходит к следующему участнику, он так же может выбрать чек или пойти на повышение. Если игрок хочет повысить ставку, то он выбирает рейз. Теперь в игре останутся только те участники, которые уравняют его ставку. В противном случае Вам придется сбросить карты и покинуть стол, потеряв при этом уже поставленную ставку.

Повышение ставки после выбора рейз имеет отношение ко всем игрокам, которые делали свои ходы ранее. Даже если Вы сказали чек до этого, то Вам придется соответствующее отреагировать или сбросить карты. После того как все участники сказали «чек», начинается следующий круг торгов.

В игру вступает 4-я по счету карта, которая дает больше возможностей для сбора оптимального сочетания карт. Игра сохраняет те же правила. Первым право хода получает участник, который находится слева от дилера. Право хода передается по часовой стрелке. Игроки могут передавать ход без изменений банка или повышать ставки.

Ривер

Финальная часть, когда в игру вступает 5-я по счету карта. С ее появлением на столе начинается новый круг торгов. Первенство хода начинается с игрока, который сидит по левую руку после дилера. Он может передать ход, не меняя наполненность банка. Так же он может выбрать «рейз», после чего другим участникам придется уровнять фишки или выйти из раунда.

Все поставленные ставки суммируются в общий банк, за который идет борьба между игроками. Когда все участники приняли свой ход и сказали «чек» наступает решающая стадия игры.

Вскрываем карты

Теперь Вам необходимо собрать комбинацию на основе своих двух карт и пяти общих. После этого все участники вскрываются и демонстрируют друг другу комбинации. Тот, у кого она выше, получает банк. Если в игре есть несколько участников, у которых ситуация абсолютно идентична, то призовой банк делится между ними. Теперь круг Холдема закончен. Предстоит новая раздача карт, при этом меняется дилер. Им становится следующий игрок слева от текущего дилера.

Комбинации – определяем победителя:

Представленные комбинации идут в возрастающем порядке, то есть старшая карта является самой слабой комбинацией, а флеш-рояль самой сильной.
