Installing The Game

In the installation file, will be some japanese folders and inside one of them is the setup folder. Extract only the setup folder to other place without Japanese characters, something like «C:\KoikatsuSunshine_Install». Don’t extract the Japanese folders itself! The setup folder must be inside a path without Japanese characters.

Install the game using ILLUSION コイカツ！ サンシャイン.msi inside the new «C:\KoikatsuSunshine_Install\setup» folder.

It will ask the folder to install the game. It’s recommended to install in a short path, otherwise the game can have issues. Avoid installing in the «Desktop» or in «Program Files» since they can have special access permissions.

A good folder to install the game is C:\illusion\KoikatsuSunshine since it’s the default path of the setup. You can install in other drive if you wish, such as «D:\illusion\KoikatsuSunshine».

After installing it is time to update your game.

Installing Updates

Inside the file may have several Japanese folders. For each one of them you need to seek for the «setup» folder and extract the files inside to your game folder (remember, its recommended to install the game in C:\illusion\KoikatsuSunshine), the folder «abdata» and his companions must be extracted to the game folder (where «KoikatsuSunshine.exe» is). When extracting, overwrite the files if asked. Remember to follow the Patching Order bellow:

The following order was tested and confirmed working. Note that pre-order and paid DLC’s are optional, you don’t need them to play the game.

Chara Studio

Studio/CharaStudio is a separated application from the main game that let you create a totally unrelated scene and get screenshot that you can’t achieve in main games. You can pose your characters, create gundams, or whatever limited only to your imagination (and the game engine). Screenshot functionality is the same as the main game.

You can download Studio as a free DLC from the official site.

In order to install Chara Studio, you need to download the three files bellow and save in the same folder. Do NOT rename the files otherwise you will have installation errors.

After installed, you can open Studio with «CharaStudio.exe» in the game folder.

VR Mode

You can download an Virtua Reality (VR) mode as a free DLC from the official site. Right now the official supported devices are HTC Vive, Oculus Rift, Oculus Quest 1 and Oculus Quest 2.

Already purchased Koikatsu Party and DLC and installed the HF Patch 3.13

After put the character into E:\. \common\Koikatsu Party\UserData\chara\female

Are you sure? If that’s the case, you shouldn’t get any ingame errors saying «missing mod» if you load Ayaka.

I do have HF Patch 3.12 installed and got the missing mods errors. I loaded her in the character creator and there was no hair and no cloth.

Then I downloaded the hair and cloth mods mentioned on the pixiv site. Now it works without problems. You should try that, too.

Huh. Weird. This should actually work.

If you open the settings (F1), do you see plugin settings in the upper right corner?
In the character creator: Go to the clothing tab and choose top types. You should have hundreds different tops. In that window you can also search. Search for «Ayaka». Does it appear?

Yeah. It seems something went wrong.

Backup your data (especially your userdata folder), then reinstall the HF Patch. After that check the character creator again. (don’t forget to mover over the ayaka character card and her both mods)

Yep. You are missing mods. But this has nothing to do with the Steam version. As I said: The Ayaka card works for me.

So: Either try to update via KKmanager or reinstall the HF Patch. Reinstalling HF Patch should be faster, since you already downloaded that.

After that start the game and click on Start to start a new game.

Don’t forget that Koikatsu Party is a japanese game, so genitals are pixelated. There are mods and plugins to uncensor it.

You can download and install the HF Patch which is a mod pack. It includes the official Special Patch, fixes, updates, plugins and mods.

Check the Seating Chart (if you end the day and are at home)

If you start a new game you see the Seating Chart. All desks are empty except two (one is you, one is a story character).

You need to fill the classes with schoolmates. There are different sources for characters.

«From Network»: People can share their created characters with others to the server. And you can use them.

«From Character Folder»: Characters placed in the character folder are loaded. To find in: Koikatsu Party\UserData\chara\female
So if you download custom made characters from websites, you need to place them here.

«From DefaultData Folder»: Default girls are loaded.

You can either randomize all seats or choose specific girls to a table you want. Just click on a table to select it and choose one of the three options and click on «Transfer In».

Most characters need mods and plugins to work properly, even DLCs could be required.

Maybe you need a mod which is not included in the HF Patch.
So read carefully the requirements to use the character ingame.

It’s a plugin which adds here and there these blue shadows to give life to the school environment.

Open the settings (F1) and click on Plugin settings in the upper right corner. Search for «mob». Change the settings.

You can also delete the whole plugin.
Go to Koikatsu Party\BepInEx\plugins and remove the folder KK_MobAdder.

Probably too many girls loaded. The more girls the longer the game loads and the more RAM you need. If a character uses a lot of mods it needs more RAM.

Open the seating chart and reduce the «School Attendees (Daily)» to 20 or so. A modded game with custom made characters can easily eat up to 16 GB RAM and more.

Run HF patch’s exe file, it’ll detect the game’s location. Then just choose the options you like and press «Install».

Most custom cards use accesories / hair from mods, so they won’t work properly without hf patch.

It gives me the option to open using internet browser but it does say say i can look for other apps.

Is there any other thing i should be having to make installing KK HF patch easier?
I try doing it directly through internet browser and it takes t ther page where i have option to save or save as and such i try opening option it but it does nothing but open a page and disapear in less than a second should i use the save as options/

i dont really know whn im running it or not thats the thing a have crap ton of files and folders open and i still cant find anywhere to detect a games location and i cant find a placde to install this is another reason i want to be able to open the read me folder, to help figure out whats going on.
