I knew inwardly there was still some plausible means by which my kid brother could overcome this condition. I knew botanical means of treatment will be more favorable than any other type of treatment, and as such, I had taken a keen interest in the research of naturopathic alternative measures suitable for the treatment of schizophrenia. ORDINARY WIZARDING LEVELS ADVENTURE

It’s nearing the end of 5th Year and the time has come to take your O.W.L.s or Ordinary Wizarding Levels. You will take 7 total exams in Potions, Herbology, Charms, History of Magic, Care of Magical Creatures, Defense Against the Dark Arts, and Transfiguration. Our Ordinary Wizarding Levels adventure guide will cover everything you need to receive 7 Outstandings including the answers to every O.W.L question.

Ordinary Wizarding Levels Part 1

Task 1

Begin the Ordinary Wizarding Levels adventure by heading to the Great Hall and watching the announcement from Dumbledore and Professor Tofty. Rowan is extremely worried about her preparation, ask your other friends how they are coping with the upcoming exams in a 3 hour activity that requires only 1 star to complete.

It appears you are the only student actually prepared for your Owl exams. Dumbledore decides to give you some personal advice: focus on your exams, don’t get distracted by the Cursed Vaults.

Task 2

Next head over to your Head of House (Professor Snape in my case) and discuss career options. You will review some potential career paths in a 3 hour activity which requires all 5 stars to complete.

Afterwards you are sent to get advice from other professors and friends.

Task 3

Go meet Jae Kim in the kitchen. He offers to give you career advice if you help organize his inventory. Apparently he is selling cheating devices to Hogwarts Students. You are shocked to see Penny Haywood show up as his first client. Complete the 3 hour activity that requires all 5 stars to continue…

After organizing Jae’s stock speak with Penny who is considering an Auto-Answer-Quill. She is worried that you’ll think poorly of her for trying to cheat her O.W.L.s, but she says that with all the stress about the Cursed Vaults and her trapped sister she has no time to revise. Convince her to stop cheating by mentioning all the students who look up to her as a role model.

Task 4

You offer to help revise with Penny in the Artefact Room. She finally shows up and has decided not to cheat! Start out your revision by brewing a Wideye Potion which will serve you well in the upcoming late night study sessions. This is a 3 hour activity which requires all 5 stars to complete.

Penny starts to feel better after successfully brewing her potion and says that you should be a Potioneer as well. She mentions how fun it would be to brew potions together.

Rowan shows up and asks for some Wideye potion as she’s terrified she hasn’t revised enough and wants to stay up all night cramming. Penny thinks she has over-studied and needs to take a break.

Task 5

Meet Rowan in the Forbidden Forest for some fun. Chiara Lobosca and Hagrid are already there with Borf the werewolf pup. Take Rowan to play with Borf in a 3 hour activity which requires all 5 stars to complete.

After some fun Rowan is able to easily answer any questions you ask her. Excited, she runs off to play more with Borf.

Task 6

Your Ordinary Wizarding Levels adventure continues with your first exam – Potions. Head over to class and meet Professor Tofty, the O.W.L examiner.

Task 1

Meet Andre and Charlie in The Three Broomsticks. Andre is convinced he will become a profession Quidditch keeper as he is already being scouted by multiple pro teams. He doesn’t feel like he needs to bother studying. Convince him to at least give some effort just in case.

Meet Tonks at Zonko’s Joke Shop. Penny mentioned that she hasn’t been herself because she is worried about not doing well enough on her O.W.L.s to become an Auror. Reassure her then shop around for jokes to take her mind off things. This is a 3 hour activity that requires all 5 stars to complete.

Tonks isn’t feeling any better despite the shopping. Fortunately Ben Copper shows up with some advice and a plan to get her confidence back.

Task 6

Time for another exam in your Ordinary Wizarding Levels adventure. Head over to the Transfiguration classroom. Tonks is already there and eager to get started with her newfound confidence.

Professor Tofty again sneaks up on you and agrees that you would make a fine Auror. It’s strange that he knows so much about you…

Ordinary Wizarding Levels adventure Part 3

Task 1

Head over to the library to revise with Tulip. It should be no surprise that Tulip tricked you into coming to the library because she wanted to prank the other revising students.

However after some prodding Tulip reveals that she is actually worried about choosing a career and is trying to avoid studying. Convince her to revise for Herbology together then complete the 3 hour study session that requires 5 stars to complete.

After studying Tulip goes into more detail about how she doesn’t want to end up like her parents, making rules and taking the fun away from life. Also she just isn’t ready to make a career decision in her 5th year. You can tell her that it’s “ok” and you haven’t made a decision either!

Task 2

Now head over to Herbology for your 4th O.W.L. exam. Tulip is there and already feeling much better, she’s even ready to start exploring some career options.

Task 2

Train for the Defense Against the Dark Arts O.W.L. in the Hogwarts Training Grounds. As soon as you arrive Merula accosts you and asks what the snake vanishing spell (Vipera Evanesca) is. Turns out it was actually Merula’s idea to train with you. Now go practice spells in a 3 hour activity which requires 5 stars to complete.

Diego is impressed with your spellwork and thinks you’d make an exception duelist. However Merula believes you will be a Curse-Breaker.

Task 3

Dumbledore calls you into his office for a meeting, however when you get there he immediately tells you to find a hiding spot. You have 8 hours to do this an must complete all 5 stars in the activity.

After successfully hiding, Professor Tofty walks in and Dumbledore questions why he has been spying on you. Apparently Tofty was sent by the Ministry to monitor you and collect information on your Cursed Vault activities.

Task 5

Meet Professor Snape in the Great Hall and discuss career paths. Begin by Talking to Penny and discuss how you think you did on the O.W.L.s with your friends. This is a 3 hour activity which requires all 5 stars to complete.

Professor Snape shows up immediately afterwards and demands to know if you’ve chosen a career. He wants to make sure you look for opportunities to advance your chosen path and reminds you that you can reconsider at any time.

Professor Tofty approaches after to say good bye and give you your scores. I’m not certain how the grading works, but I got 7 O’s. I missed one practical question in Herbology and still got an O in the class so there is some leeway. Hopefully the scores will have some effect on the storyline.

This completes your Ordinary Wizarding Levels adventure. You will be rewarded with a necklace and your O.W.L. scores will be pinned to the wall in your dorm room.

HOGWARTS MYSTERY CLASS GUIDE

There are multiple classes available in Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery with each class rewarding a specific attribute. HOGWARTS MYSTERY HISTORY OF MAGIC CLASS GUIDE

History of Magic is unlocked in Year 5 of Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery. The class is taught the ghost of Professor Binns and is notorious for being the most boring class in Hogwarts. This is reinforced when Binns falls asleep almost immediately after the start of your first class.

Multiple familiar characters from the book series make an appearance in History of Magic. There will be lectures from Nearly Headless Nick, a portrait of Rowena Ravenclaw, Nymphadora Tonks, Rowan Khanna, and even Peeves. However most students will spend time goofing off as Professor Binns sleeps or remains completely oblivious.

History of Magic will reward the Knowledge attribute and is a bit different than the other classes. There is no shape tracing minigame. The expanding circle mini-game is replaced with the Sense Hexes activity (as seen in Defense Against the Dark Arts) which involves tapping to screen at a steady rate to lift a scroll into a specified area. And the majority of the time you will be answering a History of Magic specific question. For example an 8 hour class will generally feature 4 questions and 1 Sense Hexes mini-game.

Sense Hexes Activity

Tapping or holding a finger on the screen will raise the scroll, the speed at which it raises depends on how rapidly the screen is tapped. You will want to tap the screen at just the right rate to keep the scroll within the green marked area, keep it there for 5 seconds and you win. There is a 30 second time limit on completing the Sense Hexes activity.

HOGWARTS MYSTERY DEFENSE AGAINST THE DARK ARTS CLASS GUIDE

In year 5 of Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery the Defense Against the Dark Arts class taught by Professor Patricia Rakepick is unlocked. Madam Rakepick should be familiar from the major role she played in “assisting” Jacob’s sibling in their quest to discover the forbidden forest cursed vault in Year 4.

Madam Rakepick was formerly the Head Curse Breaker for Gringotts Bank. She is extremely powerful and highly knowledgeable, but her motivations remain somewhat mysterious. She will again play a large role in Year 5’s Cursed Vaults storyline as she recruits a group of students, including the Main Character, to search for the vaults against Dumbledore’s wishes. Given the Curse placed on the Defense Against the Dark Arts teaching position, she will not likely be around for Year 6.

Defense Against the Dark Arts is similar to other classes with one of three random mini-games being assigned after each completed star. Players will still be tasked to trace a shape with their finger or answer a question from a classmate or Madam Rakepick herself. However the expanding circle minigame has been replaced with a new activity which requires players to tap the the screen and keep a scroll within a designated area. Defense Against the Dark Arts rewards the courage attribute and can be attended at your leisure.

New Mini Game

Tapping the screen will cause the scroll to move upwards, the faster you tap the quicker it will move. You will have to tap at just the right frequency to keep the scroll within the marked area for 5 seconds. If the scroll moves out of the marked area at any point the timer will reset. This new mini-game is an increase in difficulty over what we’ve seen in previous classes.

HOGWARTS MYSTERY CHARMS CLASS GUIDE

Charms Class is taught by Professor Filius Flitwick and will reward up to 100 empathy attribute points in addition to random rewards of gold, gems, energy, or even more attributes. This Hogwarts Mystery Charms class guide will cover every question that may be asked during your lessons.

As you progress through Charms Class you will be tasked with completing one of three random mini-games: tracing a shape with your finger, stopping an expanding circle within a specific location, or answering a question from a teacher or fellow student. HOGWARTS MYSTERY CARE OF MAGICAL CREATURES CLASS GUIDE

Care of Magical Creatures is taught by Professor Silvanus Kettleburn and will reward players with up to 100 courage attribute points (depending on class duration) in addition to gold, gems, energy, pet food, and even more random attribute points.

As you work through each Hogwarts Mystery class you will have to complete one of three random mini-games at specific intervals: tracing a shape with your finger, stopping an expanding circle within a specific location, or answering a question from a teacher or friend. The first two mini-games are self explanatory and we will go over all the potential questions you may be asked during Care of Magical Creatures class. Generally the questions asked by friends will see some overlap between classes while the Professor’s questions will be based on the subject they teach.

HOGWARTS MYSTERY FREE ENERGY LOCATIONS

Energy is used to complete classes and most quests in Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery. You will earn 1 point of energy every 4 minutes by default, however your energy is capped so you will not be able to accumulate energy indefinitely. Additionally there are many locations which will periodically give you free bonus energy. They can be clicked every 4-8 hours.

East Towers

1) Picture Frame – Directly behind the spot you load in, before the Charms Classroom. The picture frame will be blank if energy is available.

2) Peeves – Just to the left of the Divination Classroom ladder, past the Astronomy Tower. Click on Peeves to make him disappear.

West Towers

3) Painting – Past the Gryffindor House common room, just before the Prefects’ Bathroom. Click for some oranges to appear in the painting.

Lower Floor – West

Dungeons

6) House Elf – Located just outside the kitchens hallway. Click the elf to send it back to work.

Castle Grounds

7) Stick – To the right of the Whomping Willow there is a stick on the ground, a dog will run off with it when clicked.

Lower Floor – East

8) Books – There is a messy pile of books to the right of the library on the bench. Click them to organize into a tidy stack.

Hogsmeade

9) Student – He is down the alley between Three Broomsticks and Honeydukes. Click him and he will slide down the alley.

Forbidden Forest

10) Spider Web – Located just in front of the Spider’s Lair. It will disappear briefly when clicked, but quickly reappear. There is still a cool-down period before it can be clicked again.

After clicking the spider web it will reappear almost immediately, unfortunately you will not be able to click it again for a couple hours.

Diagon Alley

11) Sack of Coins – Located just in front of Gringotts bank.

Quidditch Stadium

12) Golden Snitch – Just before the entrance to the Quidditch Pitch.

That’s 12 locations for 12 points of free energy!

Pet Energy

Additionally you are able to purchase 4 pets which will also reward energy periodically. Unfortunately they can only be purchased with gems… these are a good option to purchase with your end of year gem reward. Your currently selected pet will be carried by your character or follow closely behind. All pets are also located in your dormitory which is accessed through your House Common Room. This is the location of Slytherin House, you will have to tap your respective Common Room to access your Dormitory.

HOGWARTS MYSTERY MAGIZOOLOGY GUIDE

Magizoology first becomes available upon completion of a side quest from Hagrid. This unlock a new zone, many new magical creatures to adopt, pet food that can be rewarded after each class, and a new Red Notebook currency. As magical creatures are cared for and bonded with players will gain Magizoology levels, higher levels will unlock new creatures to adopt.

The Magical Creature Reserve

The Magical Creature Reserve is a new fast travel area which is separated into 6 unique zones: Grasslands, Forest, Dark Forest, Lake, Rocky Mountains, and Volcanic Pasture. Each of these zones is home to unique magical creatures. For instance Porlocks live in the Grasslands while Fairies live in the Forest. Zones will become unlocked as new creatures are discovered within them.

New Currency

Notebook currencies are used to “adopt” new magical creatures. They are rewarded upon completion of special Magizoology quests and specific Hogwarts Mystery events. These are fairly difficult to come by so make sure you’re completing events as efficiently as possible. Red Notebooks are used to adopt every creature while some of the newer releases require some additional Blue Notebooks.

Creature Food

Food can be obtained from the “Search for Creature Food” activity in the Hogwarts Corridor located at the end of the Lower Floor – West zone. This is a 3 hour activity which rewards a total of 8 creature food (4 for the first star and two for each of the two bonus stars). This activity is almost never worth doing as it rewards nothing other than food.

The alternative method of getting Creature Food is to simply complete normal classes. Each time a star is completed in any class 2-10 creature food can potentially be available as a reward. I’ve banked hundreds of Creature Food from just casually completing classes and selecting food when it doesn’t compete with a massive reward like 1000 Gold or 40 Attributes.

Obviously Creature Food is used to feed your magical creatures. Creatures gain trust levels based on the amount of food fed to them:
1 food = 3 experience
2 food = 7 experience
3 food = 12 experience

Three is the maximum that can be fed at once. As there is a 3+ hour delay on feeding pets, feeding the maximum amount of food (three) each time will result in the fastest experience gain. Your character will also receive Magizoology experience each time a pet is fed.

A recent update has added the ability to feed maximum level adopted pets. This will give a similar reward to completing a star during a standard class however the reward pool is improved and you may occasionally be offered the chance to select a brown notebook for adopting cosmetic pets. This feeding is on a 6 hour cooldown timer, so you might want to start picking up some more pet food from classes.

Magical Creatures

As you gain Magizoology levels new creatures will become available for adoption.

Grasslands

The Grasslands will be the first zone you encounter within the Magical Creatures Reserve. You can adopt a Niffler, Porlock, Knarl, and Abraxan here.

Niffler

The Niffler costs 10 red notebooks to adopt, but these are provided as part of the intro quest. This will be your first magical creature adoption. Nifflers were first seen in Year 4 when Madam Rakepick lent one to aid in the search for the cursed vaults.

Bonding grants the Niffler grants 3 experience and is on a 12 hour cooldown. Feeding is on a 3 hour cooldown.

Niffler Trust Levels:
The table covers every Trust Level for your Niffler including the experience required to level and the reward you will receive upon leveling.

Upon reaching the maximum trust level you will gain the ability to interact with your niffler.

Porlock

The Porlock costs only 2 red notebooks to adopt and will likely be the second magical creature you pick up.

Bonding grants the Porlock 3 experience and is on a 12 hour cooldown. Feeding is on a 4 hour cooldown.

Knarl

The Knarl will cost 30 Red Notebooks and is only available to students with at least Magizoology level 5. Similar to a hedgehog, its quill have magical uses.

Abraxan

The Abraxan will set you back 90 red notebooks and will become available at Magizoology level 3. Abraxan are an immensely powerful giant breed of winged horse.

Players will get 15 points for bonding with the abraxan and food will grant 15-30 experience (1 food = 15 exp, 2 food = 22 exp, 3 food = 30 exp).

Forest

The Forest is the second zone within the Hogwarts Mystery Magical Creatures Reserve. A Fairy, Bowtruckle, Gnome, Hippogriff, and Welch Green Dragon can be adopted here.

Fairy

There is a Fairy available for adoption in the Forest for 30 red notebooks upon reaching Magizoology level 2. Fairies are small humanoid creatures known for their vanity.

Feeding is on a 5 hour cooldown and Bonding will grant 3 experience on a 12 hour cooldown.

Fairy Trust Levels:

Bowtruckle

The Bowtruckle becomes available for adoption at Magizoology level 3, it will set you back 40 red notebooks. Bowtruckles are tiny twig-like creatures that guard wand-wood trees. They are often interacted with in Care of Magical Creatures class.

Feeding is on a 6 hour cooldown and bonding rewards 3 experience on a 12 hour cooldown as always.

Bowtruckle Trust Levels:

Gnome

You may adopt this Gnome at Magizoologist Level 6 for 70 red notebooks and 10 blue. A Gnome is a common pest found in wizarding gardens.

Hippogriff

This Hippogriff is availalbe for adoption at Magizooloy Level 4 for 55 red, 25 blue, and 20 yellow notebooks. A Hippogriff is part horse, part eagle, immensely proud and dangerous.

Welsh Green Dragon

Students will be able to adopt the Welsh Green Dragon at Magizoology level 4 for the price of 60 Red and 30 Blue Notebooks. The Welsh Green Dragon is one of the least difficult dragon breeds and is noted for its musical roar.

Dark Forest

The Dark forest is the third zone in the Magical Creature Reserve. You may adopt a Unicorn, Chimera, Thestral, Acromantula, and Hungarian Horntail here.

Unicorn

A Unicorn will become available at Magizoology Level 7. It will cost you 90 red notebooks and 25 blue notebooks. The Unicorn is a white, horned horse that possesses magical properties.

Chimera

Chimera adoptions are only available to students with Magizoology level 5 at the cost of 50 red and 25 blue notebooks. The Chimera is a violent beast that’s a mixture of lion, goat, and dragon.

Thestral

The Thestral will become available for adoption at Magizoology level 4. It will cost you 75 red notebooks and 15 blue notebooks. A Thestral is a black winged horse visible only to those who’ve seen death.

Acromantula

An Acromantula is available for adoption at Magizoology level 4. It costs 40 red notebooks. An Acromantula is a highly intelligent giant spider capable of human speech.

You may bond with your Acromantula once every 12 hours for 15 experience. You can feed it every 7 hours for 15-30 experience depending on the amount of pet food used.

Hungarian Horntail

The Lake is the fourth zone in the Magical Creature Reserve. A Plimpy, Grindylow, Murtlap, and Norwegian Ridgeback

Plimpy

At Magizoologist Level 6 Plimpys will become available for adoption for just 40 red notebooks. A Plimpy is a spherical, mottled fish that Merpeople consider a pest.

Grindylow

You may adopt a Grindylow at Magizoologist Level 6 for 50 red notebooks and 15 blue notebooks. A Grindylow is an aggressive, pale-green water demon!

Murtlap

This Murtlap is available for adoption at Magizoologist Level 7 for 50 red notebooks. A Murtlap is a rat-like creature whose preferred prey is crustaceans.

Norwegian Ridgeback

Yet another Dragon coming soon to Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery.

Griffin

This Griffin is available for Adoption at Magizoologist Level 8 for 50 red, 10 blue, and 10 yellow notebooks. A Griffin is an eagle-lion hybrid often used by wizards to guard treasure.

The Doxy can be adopted at Magizoologist Level 7 for 50 red, 10 blue, and 10 yellow notebooks. The Doxy is a pesky, fairy-like creature that can infest houses.

Students can adopt a Yeti at Magizoologist level 7 for 45 red, 20 blue, and 15 yellow notebooks. Yeti’s are A huge, ape-like creature often sighted by Muggles.

None of the other zones are available at this time, this guide will be updated as more Magizoology content is released.
