Include an introduction and conclusion
A conclusion is essential for IELTS writing task 2. It is more important than most people realise. You will be penalised for missing a conclusion in your IELTS essay.
The easiest paragraph to write in an essay is the conclusion paragraph. This is because the paragraph mostly contains information that has already been presented in the essay – it is just the repetition of some information written in the introduction paragraph and supporting paragraphs.
The conclusion paragraph only has 3 sentences:
To summarize, a robotic teacher does not have the necessary disciple to properly give instructions to students and actually works to retard the ability of a student to comprehend new lessons. Therefore, it is clear that the idea of running a classroom completely by a machine cannot be supported. After thorough analysis on this subject, it is predicted that the adverse effects of the debate over technology-driven teaching will always be greater than the positive effects, and because of this, classroom teachers will never be substituted for technology.
Start your conclusion with a linking phrase. Here are some examples:
The diagram below shows how ethanol fuel is produced from corn
The illustration highlights various steps involved in the production of ethanol fuel from the original ingredient of corn.
In order to manufacture ethanol fuel, a major raw ingredient which is corn processed in eight distinct stages before being used by the public.
The first stage of making ethanol fuel involves storing corn carefully, followed by being completely milled in the next step. The cooking stage starts after the former products have been mixed with water, and then being cooked for four continuous hours. The products then get into the fermenting phase within two days before being solely separated.
The separating stage involves the process of taking away the solid by-product, and therefore, the liquid product then can enter the next phase. The further stage includes the purifying ethanol process which takes five hours to complete. After being purified, the ethanol fuel is transferred to the storing phase, before being used widely by the consumers.

The diagram below shows how ethanol fuel is produced from corn.
Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features and make comparisons where relevant.
The diagram illustrates the process of a bio-fuel production from corn called ethanol.
We can see that ethanol fuel is made using corn as a raw material, and that the manufacturing process consists of nine distinct stages, starting from corn collection to the ending product delivery.
At the first stage in the production of ethanol fuel, corn is collected from the farms then stored in the warehouse. Next, the stored corn is passed through a milling machine. The milled corn can then be cooked during four hours with the addition of water. After that, the cooked corn is continuously fermented during forty eight hours.
At the sixth stage of the process, the liquid in the fermented corn is separated from the solid by- product. This liquid is then purified in the lab, resulting ethanol. Ethanol fuel is stored in the warehouse at this time and finally transported to the gas stations.

BEST IELTS Academic Writing Task 1, 5th January
SAMPLE ANSWER
The flow chart illustrates the process of making ethanol fuel from corn.
Overall, the process consists of 9 stages, beginning with corn, the raw material ready for processing, and ending with the transportation of the finished product to the customer.
First, the corn at the processing plant is stored, ready for the next stage, which is milling to break down the corn. After the corn has been milled, water is added. The corn is then cooked in the water for 4 hours. Following cooking, the corn is left to ferment for 48 hours.
After this period of fermentation, the next step is the separation of the corn into a solid by-product and a liquid. The liquid then enters the stage of purification to produce ethanol which is completely pure, a process which takes 5 hours. In the final stages of the process, the ethanol is stored, prior to transportation to the customer.
Process diagram #5 – How ethanol fuel is produced from corn.
Task 1: Diagram
The diagram below shows how ethanol fuel is produced from corn.
The diagram below shows how ethanol fuel is produced from corn.
Sample 1 :
The given chart illustrates the process of producing ethanol from corn.
Overall, it can be seen that there are approximately 9 steps in the process, starting from the collection of corn from the field, and culminating with pure ethanol, ready to be transported and sold.
The process of producing ethanol from corn starts with the collection and storage of corn. The corn is then milled and cooked with water for around 4 hours. Once it has been cooked, it then undergoes a process of fermentation which takes around 48 hours to complete.
Afterwards, the fermented product is then put through a process which separates the liquid from the solids. The liquid then needs to be purified, which takes around 5 hours, while the solid material ends up being a useful by-product of the process. After the liquid has been purified, it can then be stored before it is shipped to the consumers.
Sample 2 :
The diagram describes the production of ethanol fuel from corn.
First, corn, the main material of the production process is gathered at a storage. After that, it is taken out and put through the milling stage in which corn is ground into small pieces. In the next phase, people mixed the milled corn with water and then cook it in four hours. The fermentation comes next and lasts for 48 hours to turn corn and water into an alcoholic mixture. Subsequently, the liquid of the fermented mixture is separated from the solid by-product. That liquid is then purified within 5 hours to get rid of water for an extraction of pure ethanol, which is then transferred to a fuel storage. Finally, ethanol is transported to filling stations for distribution.
Overall, the process of turning corn into ethanol goes through eight stages but takes only more than two days to complete.

Sample 3 :
The diagram illustrates the production of ethanol fuel from corn.
Overall, there are nine stages in the process of corn ethanol production, beginning with harvesting the corn and ending at the delivery stage.
At the first stage in the corn ethanol making process, corn is harvested and then put in a suitable place to ensure safe storage before it is ready for milling. During the milling stage, the corn is ground into a fine powder, which is then mixed with water. The resulting mixture is cooked for four hours.
After cooking, the mixture undergoes a fermentation process, which takes two days, and ethanol is produced after this stage. After that, the liquid ethanol is separated from the fermented mixture, during which some solid by-products are taken out. It then takes five hours for the resulting ethanol to be purified to remove any impurities. Finally, this ethanol is stored for a set period of time before being transported to retailers, ready to be sold.
