When the song had no vocals but was just guitar, engineer Josh Gudwin sent the guitar riff to multiple guitar players, one of them was Tom Strahle, because it had a horrible buzz. Strahle came really close but nobody ever got Ed Sheeran’s vibe of it. [2]

Engineer Simon Cohen revealed he was contacted by Bieber’s camp in September 2015 while the singer was in the country on a promo tour via an email which read, «There’s another song we need to do, are you available, can you be in Melbourne today?» [3]
