BLCMM: its the easiest way to prepare the game with hex injection and console key set up, you will need java to be able to open it however

So, now that you have BLCMM

Open it up, wait for it to check for updates and press the launch button (press ok if a message pops up btw)

so now that you got the lengthy part out of the way. you will need to know where to put the mods

open your borderlands 2 folder and there will be this folder

I got the Community patch activated (the newest), but feel no changes so far. Maybe I will explore more, as I’m not at UVHM yet (lvl 58).

_Commerce’s replacer mod (Bug Zapper) didn’t change it into Bug Zapper, just after I obtained it from Assassin Wot. The Master file that contained its line as Bug%20Zapper.txt was activated when starting console command before game, the weapon just wasn’t it however.

_My obtained Sir Hammerlock’s Rex didn’t change into its replacer mod – Peacekeeper. Same issue as above, despite having Master file activated before game on console command.

_Emperor wasn’t replaced with Elysium 5 (replacer mod). I got it through Gib for fastening (just this one to test out), and hella.

So coming back to farm = didn’t work, nor adding through Gib. I don’t know the mechanism of these mods, although I did follow the whole instruction (and it worked for the first time). So how do I activate or track through these installed mods of mine? How do weapon mods work in game anyway?

NOTICE: The patch didn’t work either! There are, literally, no changes in vanilla game so far! I did activate step by step, Hex’ed and enabled console command, but it seemed that the patch didn’t…work or provide any changes in anyway.

So does that mean the same thing is happening over the gun mod from Github? I got the game from, FRANKLY, Torrent, and it was the GOTY version. Could THAT be the problem?

Is there any particular reason the Better Loot mod wouldn’t be working for TPS, even though I use the exact same process to use the BL2 better loot mod in /it’s/ community patch, and it works just fine?

I got BL2 off the epic store and the patch doesnt work for it. Is there anyway to fix this?

Running Mods

This page deals with “traditional” text-based Borderlands 2 / Pre-Sequel mods of the sort that are found on the BLCMods Github. There’s a newer kind of mod called a Python SDK Mod which has a completely different method of installation and management. See that page for more info on those!

For “traditional” text-based mods, though the main tool to use to manage them, and prepare your game for running mods, is the Borderlands Community Mod Manager, or BLCMM.

BLCMM will auto-update to the latest version, if needed, from its splash screen.

Note: BLCMM cannot currently hex-edit the Epic Games Store version of BL2 or TPS. EGS users should use Method 2 (Hex Multitool) instead. Steam users can still use either, depending on your preferences.

Before you start running mods, you need to hex edit your BL2/TPS executables to enable the console fully. One way to do this easily is inside the Borderlands Community Mod Manager itself.

The first time you start up BLCMM, it will launch a dialog to help you prepare BL2 and TPS for accepting mods. The main two things which have to happen is hex-editing the game to accept the console commands we need, and setting up a console key to use in the game. It will look like this:

NOTE: Cracked versions of Borderlands are very often not able to run mods properly, since BL2+TPS modding relies on using Gearbox’s “hotifx” mechanisms to do their work. Also, the Russian-localized version of BL2 can’t currently be patched.

Alternatively, you can also do this using c0dycode’s Hex Multitool. The Hex Multitool is a utility which allows you to make several changes to the Borderlands executable files, including the console changes. It supports several hexedits which BLCMM doesn’t do, such as setting maximum currency limits and backpack size, etc.

Hex Multitool doesn’t manage mods like BLCMM does, though, so you’ll still need BLCMM for that part.

Managing Mods

Note that if BLCMM was able to detect your Borderlands installation directory, its Open/Save dialogs will have a button on the side to go directly to your Binaries directory, so you shouldn’t have to find it yourself:

Actually Running Your Patch File

Once you have your patch file in the game’s Binaries directory, you should be able to execute it from the console. You have to do this every time you launch the game.

Mac Users: You must execute the mod from the Press any key screen, but you have to have been to the main menu at least once first. Once you get to the main menu, wait a few seconds for the game to talk to the Gearbox servers, then hit Esc and then “yes” to go back out to that Press any key screen. Then hit your console key and use the same exec commands that Windows users use. Note that there are a few extra gotchas when running mods on Mac.

When running most major modpacks you will get a message on the screen telling you to check your BAR page in-game to make sure that the mods applied properly. If they did you should see a message like this:

NOTE: Whether or not you use UCP, Reborn, or any other combination of mods, they should always be stored in your one single patch file, and you should only ever execute a single file from the console. Never exec multiple files one after the other – just use the one.

Uninstalling Mods

If you’ve run a mod, but decided you don’t actually want to play with it. To “uninstall” the mod, just restart the game. Mods don’t make permanent changes.

If you’ve merged multiple mods into a single file using BLCM, and you only want to remove one of them, you can simply disable that category. To properly remove it from the file, enable structural edits in BLCMM’s settings, then delete should be an option whenever you right click a category.

Short instructions:
To install BLCMM, place the launcher wherever it is easily accesible for you. Upon running the launcher, the rest of the BLCMM files will be downloaded.
After this is done, BLCMM will prompt you to hexedit your games for you, and enable your console, and thus preparing your games to accept mods.
Once this is done, you will enter the main view of BLCMM, where you can open and manage your mods.

It is advised to use a single mod file to execute your entire collection as mods in one go, due to technical reasons.
To combine mod files, use the import functionality found in the file menu.
Once all your mods are combined, check / uncheck the parts of the mods that you want, save the file, and it’s ready to be used in-game.

BLCMM also offers tools for mod creators. It checks various syntax and content errors of your commands, allows for easy hotfix creation.
Furthermore, BLCMM will take care of merging your hotfixes into a single functional array, as well as combining multiple map merging statements.

Lastly, BLCMM has an object explorer, that contains a lot of the useful objects from the game, pre-dumped, so you can focus on developing your mod, rather than wasting time in-game and navigating trough log files.

When initially installed, BLCMM has some locked functionality, which can be enabled or downloaded trough the settings menu.

Third-Person Mod

Difficulty Mod

Суть этого конкретного мода в том, чтобы заставить игру думать, будто в сессии участвует N игроков. Очень полезно, если все встреченные противники лопаются на мелкие ошметки от одного вашего взгляда, а под рукой нет никого из друзей, чтобы повысить сложность.
