This movie is a gem for an indie lover like me. The simplicity of the story allowed focus on the complex and nuanced layers of the characters. Quite understated in its presentation, the film allowed us to fully digest each of the completely moving scenes. In each scene, there were so many feelings that resonated with me. This movie had a similar unrequited love theme that is found throughout the indie film landscape, but it still came across as fresh and compelling. The actor’s chemistry was strong, though it took a few scenes to kick into gear. As a big fan of character movies, this one delivers on every level.
While AmyAmy Hargreaves, in her quirky, super appealing, and unpredictable realization of the character was particularly engaging, I felt the most important scenes in the film were delivered brilliantly by the jilted husband played by Mark Blum. Blum was absolutely perfect in every scene and had the gravity to pull the other actors into a heightened drama.
The smallness of this production was also refreshing and intimate. I love when films don’t feel slick and over-rehearsed. I would have given this film a 10, were it not for a certain overly-sharp character shift of Amy Hargreaves in a scene set in the morning. But I will overlook that because the rest of the film was working so well. They say 90% of a director’s job is casting. I bet that was the case in this excellent film, too. Bravo to everyone involved in this movie.
As you can already tell I didn’t like Ellen. Shes unfaithful to a husband that seems to adore her. He’s provided her with a very comfortable life, including a yoga studio in an expensive part of New York. What he gets in return is very little favor, kindness or empathy. And although he doesn’t want children, he supports her desire to be a mother.
Pro: Don’t go into this movie expecting to like these people or their behavior. People are sometimes assholes and this movie is a realistic demonstration of that. Kudos to the writer and the performers. Monica is likable and awkward and pulls this off without being «that girl who tries too hard to be quirky». After watching this movie, if you’re single you’ll feel a little less lonely and more free. because relationships and love are messy.
I didn’t hate this movie but I waited to like it.
I liked this movie more than I expected to. The story stayed with me long after I’d watched it as I found the characters to be very authentic, and the casting and portrayals were very good. The movie doesn’t condone, justify, or glamorize extramarital affairs. In fact,it reveals how something that might, at first, seem like just a casual and temporary dalliance can snowball into lasting negative consequences for everyone involved. When the affair begins, I was thinking she should have stopped it right at the first kiss, but then. there wouldn’t be a movie.
As Ellen’s feelings for young Travis strengthen, she becomes torn up over her betrayal to her husband, who is nearly 20 years older than her. The affair brings up negative emotions that she’d probably been suppressing for quite a while, although she truly cares for her husband and the life they’ve created together. These conflicting emotions help explain how it was relatively easy for her to begin the affair with Travis in the first place.
The ending also seems realistic and appropriate, not fully resolving what happened, but highlighting how the characters’ lives have significantly changed.

Inspired by real-life couple Jennifer Carter and Solomon “Sol” Chau, All My Life is the sanitized, sanded-down version of what probably would have been a very interesting documentary that wouldn’t require the sugary artificiality of a script that feels like it was written by a mall focus group recruited exclusively from customers of Williams Sonoma and Pink by Victoria’s Secret. In this narrative version, Carter (Jessica Rothe) and Chau (Harry Shum Jr.) are imagined as twenty-somethings living their lives in search of “something more” as Jennifer’s voiceover tells us upfront.
Jennifer is a student who never seems to have any professional interests; Sol works first in marketing but has a true passion for food. While out a sports bar with friends, Jennifer and Solomon bond over a margarita and decide to meet up for a run and a trip to the farmers market the next day, where they

President Bill Clinton tapped Reno to become the government’s top lawyer in 1993. The Associated Press describes Reno as “one of the Clinton administration’s most recognizable and polarizing figures.”
By the time she took office, a crisis was already building at a compound in Waco, Texas. The Branch Davidian religious sect led by David Koresh was in a standoff with the FBI. Reno ordered agents to storm the property, saying she believed children were being abused. About 80 people died in the raid. Reno took full responsibility.

Ross Lynch to play young Jeffrey Dahmer in graphic novel adaptation My Friend Dahmer
The Hollywood Reporter has revealed that Ross Lynch (Teen Beach Movie) has signed on to play a teenage version of the notorious American serial killer Jeffrey Dahmer in My Friend Dahmer.
Described as a “coming-of-age story”, My Friend Dahmer is set in the 1970s and follows Dahmer’s high school years as he struggles with a difficult family life and thoughts of wanting to kill. The film is based upon Derf Backderf’s critically-acclaimed graphic novel, and will see Marc Meyers (How He Fell in Love) directing from his own script, which featured on the 2014 Black List.
Dahmer is one of the most infamous serial killers in U.S. history, and was responsible for the rape, murder and dismemberment of seventeen men and boys between 1978 and 1991, with many of his crimes also involving necrophilia and cannibalism. He died in 1994, having been bludgeoned to death in prison.

Review: It May Be Called ‘How He Fell in Love,’ But Its Female Star Is The Reason To See It
The title of writer/director Marc Meyers’ third feature film is a curious thing. Rather than fixate on one half of a relationship, “How He Fell in Love” instead becomes a much fuller look at how a relationship travels from casual acquaintances into unanticipated territory. With a sharp focus on an evolving relationship between Travis (Matt McGorry), an ambling part-time musician and Ellen, a married yoga studio instructor, Meyers foregoes easy judgment or condemnation to give a full view of a love with consequences.
Skillfully tracking the emotional parabola of their affair, “How He Fell in Love” gives breathing room to each stage of their interactions, beginning with their chance meeting at a wedding. As the two spend time together, casually flirting inside the yoga studio and beyond, their coded parsing of clues and discussions with friends afterwards help widen the scope of their potential romantic involvement. Early on in their friendship,
