How many teenagers have drinking problems
What Makes Young People Do This?
Today it is fashionable to speak about teenagers problems. A few years ago alcohol, fights, killings and other kinds of violencewere more problems for adults than for young people.
But now, as official reports admit, violence, AIDS (Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome), drugs and alcohol are more and more associated with youngsters. For many children from poor families violence, drinking problems and all that is associated with povertybecomes more real than reality.
What has gone wrong? Some specialists explain that the changes of our society, the system of our life force young people to choose their own lifestyle. On the one hand, our society agrees that 15-17-year-old people are old enough to be responsible for what they do and give them quite a lot of freedom and rights. On the other hand, most adults think that teenagers are too young to be taken seriously. This misunderstanding produces many problems. Actually, a lot of teenagers say that their parents let them do anything they want and are quite indifferent to their problems. Many teenagers get upset or depressed when they can’t solve their problems. As a result, it makes them believe that there is only one way out — to stop living and commit suicide.
No doubt, the teens’ problems will increase. And young people should feel that they are cared for.

Young people around the world have expressed many different feelings and expectations about the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child. Read the opinions of your peers: «I can’t but agree that to have the right to life and protection is very important. But in my opinion, the Convention is useless. All adults do is talk; they can’t be forced to put needs of children ahead of their own». (Gary) 2 . Documents about the rights of children in Russia In Russia all the rights of children are contained in legislative documents at various levels. Among them are the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child, the Constitution of the Russian Federation, various state Codes and certain federal laws. All the rights of children, both within the framework of family relations and public relations, are most widely reflected in the Family Code. 2. Situations illustrating the violation of rights 1) Your math teacher forces you to attend additional classes. 2) I always rode my bike to school. But last month I got sick and was in the hospital. Case for the g rope «Lawyers» « Responsibilities and the violation of responsibilities by teenagers » 1. Legal knowledge Nowadays legal knowledge is very necessary in Russian society. Unfortunately, not every young citizen, committing a particular offense, thinks about responsibility, which can lead to sad consequences. Every year, teenagers commit more than 145 thousand crimes, almost every fifth person is sent to special closed-type institutions to serve their sentences: from the age of 11 – to special schools, and from 14 – to educational and labor colonies. The number of juvenile prisoners is 13 per 100 thousand of the population. Ignorance of the law and a sense of impunity are the most common causes of delinquency among adolescents. Adolescence is considered a turning point in the development of each individual. The aspiration to prove their independence and adulthood, youth maximalism pushes a teenager to rash actions, which in turn entail consequences of various kinds. Most teenagers believe that they do not have to answer for what they have done. They know their rights without knowing their responsibilities. Many teenagers do not believe that they are doing something illegal, or they think that «nothing will happen for this». Thus, ignorance of the law and a sense of impunity are the most common causes of delinquency among adolescents. The crime is characterized by the highest degree of public danger Misdemeanors are characterized by a lower degree of public danger 1. What punishment does he face? 3. A group of teenagers after a picnic in the forest left behind household waste. 4. Three students gathered for a disco. Not having prepared for the test work in mathematics, two students of the 11th grade decided to disrupt its implementation. They called the police, saying that a bomb had been planted in the school. The actions of the students are 1) a civil offense 2) a crime 3) an administrative offense 4) a disciplinary violation. 3. Examples of crime and misdemeanor 1) stealing money from a bank 2) to damage a tree 3) to rob a passerby 4) violation of safety regulations 5) kidnapping a child 6) debauchery in a public place 7) false reporting of an act of terrorism 8) drinking alcoholic beverages in a public place 4. Reasons for the offenses and misdemeanors of teenagers. 1) teenagers ‘ ignorance of their responsibilities$ 2) poor organization of public work with teenagers; 3) lack of educational function at school; 4) soft responsibility for the commission of a crime; 5) ignorance of the law; 6) с onfidence in impunity; 7) idleness, the desire to have only fun; 8) the desire to stand out among peers; 9) using alcohol and drugs. Case for the g rope « Sociologists» 1. WHAT MAKES OUR CHILDREN DO THIS? 2.The opinion of your peers on the problem 1. All the problems discussed in the article can be applied to our country. Fights, killings, alcohol are also the problems of our teenagers. A lot of youngsters can be addicted to drugs and this lead to bad circumstances. The worst problem – it’s the attempt to commit a suicide, and this attempts increased lately. 2. I think that most of these problems can be applied to Russia. Violence, drugs, alchohol are problems for young people here. Many teenagers with drug or alchohol addiction do not admit that they are dependent. Teenagers in Russia also have family and school problems. Many teenaders lack understanding on the part on their parents. They say their parents are indifferent to their problems. And as many problems can’t be solved by teenagers they began to think of commiti1мng suicide. 3. Statistical data 1 УРОВЕНЬ. Задание 1.
