They say that cheaters never win. But in Minecraft, they can at least pull off some pretty cool tricks.

Turning on cheats in your Minecraft world unlocks dozens of chat commands that let you control the game with ease. You can change the weather, teleport anywhere, summon or slay enemies — it’s like a whole new game.

Both versions of Minecraft (Java and Bedrock) let you turn on cheats when you’re first creating a world, or once you’re inside. Here’s how to set it up.

Note: Both versions of Minecraft allow cheats, but beware that enabling cheats will also lock you out of earning achievements while in that world.

How to turn on cheats in Minecraft: Java Edition

You can enable cheats whenever you want, whether you’re creating a new world or opening an old one.

To turn on cheats when you’re creating a new world:

1. Open Minecraft and click Singleplayer, and then Create New World.

2. On the options page that appears, click Allow Cheats: OFF so it turns to Allow Cheats: ON.

3. Once cheats are turned ON, click Create New World again to generate the world.

If you want to turn on cheats in a world that you’ve already created, that can be done just as quickly.

1. While playing in that world, press Esc to open the Game Menu.

2. Select Open to LAN, and then click Allow Cheats: OFF so it turns to Allow Cheats: ON.

3. Click Start LAN World.

Quick tip: Doing this also opens your world to LAN players, meaning that other people playing Minecraft who use the same internet connection as you can find and join your game.

Cheats are now turned on in your Minecraft world. You can use them by pressing T and typing into the chat box. Keep reading for some sample cheat codes you can test out.

And remember that once you’ve turned cheats on, you can’t turn them off without creating an entirely new world.

How to turn on cheats in Minecraft: Bedrock Edition

Enabling cheats in the Bedrock edition isn’t much different than in Java. This works on PC, PlayStation, Nintendo Switch, and Xbox. The «Pocket» versions on iPhone, iPad, and Android also have similar steps.

To turn on cheats for a new world:

1. Launch Minecraft and select Play.

2. Select Create New, and then Create New World.

3. On the Game Settings page, scroll down until you find the Cheats section.

4. Toggle on Activate Cheats and confirm that you’re okay with disabling achievements.

5. You can use the toggles below to quickly change some specific world options, but once you’re ready click Create on the left side.

And if you’ve already created a world without cheats but want to enable them:

1. While in your world, press the Esc key on your keyboard, the Start/Options button on your controller, or the Pause icon on your touchscreen to pause the game.

2. Select Settings, and in the Game Settings menu that opens, scroll down to the Cheats section.

3. Toggle on Activate Cheats and resume the game.

Once you turn on cheats, you can use them by pressing T on your keyboard or the right D-pad button on your controller to open the chat.

You can turn cheats off later by going back to that menu and toggling the switch off again.

Some easy Minecraft cheat codes to try out

You’ll enter all your cheat codes into the chat box, as if you were talking to another player. You can open the chat box by pressing T on your keyboard, or the right D-pad button on your controller.

Here are some powerful cheats to get started with.

Quick tip: If you’re having trouble figuring out exactly what to type after a certain command, pay attention to the screen above the chat box. It’ll usually offer suggestions as you type, letting you know how to complete most cheat commands.

/give to spawn any item

This lets you give yourself — or another player in your world — any amount of almost any item. You’ll type it as /give PlayerName ItemName Quantity.

So for example, if your username was JohnDoe and you wanted to give yourself 30 diamonds, you’d type /give JohnDoe diamond 30.

If you don’t know your username, you can type @s in its place instead.

/weather to change the weather

This lets you start or stop rain and thunderstorms.

Just type /weather clear, /weather rain, or /weather thunder.

You can also use the /time command to mess with the day-to-night cycle.

/tp to teleport anywhere

This lets you teleport anywhere in the world, as well as teleport to other dimensions like The Nether and The End.

/gamemode to change your game mode

Did you start your Minecraft world in Creative Mode, but now you want to give Survival a go? You don’t need to create a new save file — just use cheats.

You can use cheats to switch between Creative, Survival, Adventure, and Spectator modes on the fly. Check out our article on changing game modes for the full details.

/kill to slay every enemy in the area

If you’ve found a cave full of Creepers that you really don’t want to deal with, you can take them all out in one go with the /kill command. You’ll type it like this: /kill @e[type=EnemyName].

So if you wanted to destroy every Creeper in the area, type /kill @e[type=creeper]. Just note it’ll only kill the ones that have already spawned — it won’t stop more from appearing.

Quick tip: If you open the chat box and press the Up arrow on your keyboard or Up on your controller’s D-pad, you can quickly retype the last command you entered. Use this to save time when repeating commands.

Выбор игры

Для начала опре­делим­ся с игрой. Мой выбор пал на Hyper Light Drifter (далее HLD). Если ты пла­ниру­ешь поэк­спе­римен­тировать с ком­мерчес­кой игрой, обра­ти вни­мание на сайт pcgamingwiki, а так­же на игры с откры­тым исходным кодом.

Так как для написа­ния этой статьи я буду исполь­зовать ком­мерчес­кую игру, мне нуж­но удос­товерить­ся, что лицен­зион­ное сог­лашение (EULA) поз­воля­ет это делать.

На­чав уста­нов­ку и вни­матель­но про­читав текст EULA, я убе­дил­ся, что в нем явно зап­реща­ется написа­ние и рас­простра­нение толь­ко тех читов и трей­неров, которые меша­ют работе сер­виса, а в нашем слу­чае ничего подоб­ного не пла­ниру­ется. Поэто­му сме­ло про­дол­жаем уста­нов­ку.

Поиск значений

Для поис­ка зна­чений, которые будет изме­нять чит, мы ста­нем исполь­зовать Cheat Engine (далее CE).

За­пус­тим игру и в нас­трой­ках игры выберем окон­ный режим — нам нуж­но, что­бы на экра­не помеща­лось еще что‑то, кро­ме игры.

Как видим, в окон­ном режиме отсутс­тву­ет панель заголов­ка, с помощью которой мы мог­ли бы перетас­кивать окно игры по экра­ну. Что­бы испра­вить эту неп­рият­ность, откро­ем отладчик x64dbg, а имен­но его 32-бит­ную вер­сию ( x32dbg ) и запус­тим под ним HLD.

И вот резуль­тат: теперь мы можем переме­щать окно.

Пос­ле того как мы нас­тро­или окно игры с помощью отладчи­ка, ненадол­го отло­жим его. Что­бы най­ти нуж­ные нам зна­чения в Cheat Engine, раз­берем­ся с теорией.

Что такое статический адрес

Ста­тичес­кий адрес — это адрес, который изме­няет­ся пред­ска­зуемо по отно­шению к модулю, которо­му он при­над­лежит. Если перемен­ная гло­баль­ная, то мож­но най­ти ее в сег­менте дан­ных.

За­пус­каем Cheat Engine и под­клю­чаем­ся к про­цес­су игры.

Под­клю­чение к про­цес­су игры

Так как мы не зна­ем, в каком типе хра­нит­ся показа­тель здо­ровья, выс­тавля­ем сле­дующие парамет­ры для пер­вого ска­ниро­вания.

Пер­вое ска­ниро­вание

Да­лее про­дол­жаем ска­ниро­вание, не забывая при этом терять hp (показа­тель здо­ровья) в игре. Дела­ем мы это для того, что­бы отсле­живать изме­нения зна­чения hp в памяти игры через CE, а так­же умень­шать зна­чение в поис­ке для сле­дующих ска­ниро­ваний. Делать мы это будем до тех пор, пока не будет дос­тигну­то адек­ватное количес­тво зна­чений в окне CE. Адек­ватное количес­тво зна­чений в дан­ном слу­чае — это такое количес­тво адре­сов, про­вер­ка которых зай­мет мак­симум минут пять.

Най­ден­ные адре­са и их зна­чения

Мне приг­лянулись вот эти два адре­са, которые я добавил в ниж­нее окно двой­ным щел­чком мыши на них. Приг­лянулись они мне в пер­вую оче­редь потому, что зна­чения по этим адре­сам сре­ди всех осталь­ных име­ют наиболь­ший тип — double. Всег­да нуж­но про­верять от боль­шего типа к мень­шему. То есть сна­чала про­веря­ем адре­са, хра­нящие тип double, затем float, пос­ле integer и так далее. Более под­робно о раз­мере типов дан­ных мож­но про­читать в до­кумен­тации Microsoft.

Из­менение hp

Да­дим наз­вание най­ден­ным нами адре­сам: hp_bar и hp соот­ветс­твен­но. Одна­ко, как я уже рас­ска­зывал в раз­деле, пос­вящен­ном ста­тичес­ким адре­сам, най­ден­ный нами адрес будет бес­полезен пос­ле того, как мы вый­дем в меню или переза­пус­тим игру.

Поиск значения числа патронов

Те­перь прис­тупим к поис­ку зна­чения чис­ла пат­ронов (ammo). Пер­вое ска­ниро­вание дела­ем с такими же парамет­рами поис­ка, как ког­да мы иска­ли здо­ровье.

В дан­ном слу­чае мы смог­ли най­ти лишь одно зна­чение, и это зна­чение полосы, которая показы­вает чис­ло боеп­рипасов.

В игре этот инди­катор не появил­ся. В отли­чие от полосы здо­ровья, он отоб­ража­ется толь­ко пос­ле нажатия на кноп­ку E или во вре­мя выс­тре­лов.

Поиск статического адреса для ammo

По ана­логии с поис­ком hp, выходим из фун­кции.

Так как мы уже зна­ем, что инди­катор дол­жен получать зна­чение где‑то рань­ше, нам при­дет­ся про­лис­тать окно дизас­сем­бле­ра выше, пока мы не уви­дим фун­кцию, пред­положи­тель­но получа­ющую фак­тичес­кое зна­чение ammo.

До­бавив это «стран­ное» зна­чение в Cheat Engine, а потом изме­нив его, к при­меру, на 100, мы уви­дим, что на экра­не появит­ся инди­катор пат­ронов и его зна­чение поменя­ется. Зна­чит, мы наш­ли адрес, в котором хра­нит­ся зна­чение ammo в игре.

Проверка полученного статического адреса

Что­бы про­верить, пра­виль­но ли мы опре­дели­ли адре­са, нуж­но вый­ти в меню игры и вер­нуть­ся к игро­вому про­цес­су или же переза­пус­тить игру.

How do I enter commands and cheats?

Before you can use these cheats, when you are creating your Minecraft world, you are going to need to select allow cheats. While you can do this in the actual world itself, it is far easier to just enable them before jumping in.

Now that you have this enabled, you are going to want to hit C on your keyboard. This will bring up the command console, and this is where you are going to enter all the commands we will list down below!

Can I use commands on Xbox and Nintendo Switch?

No, unfortunately, there is no in-game console for players to access while on these consoles. But, there are already cheats enabled within the game that you can access, so there is something for everyone.

Now that we have talked about the steps required needed to enter these commands, it is about time we actually talk about the cheats players can use within Minecraft. There is one note we should warn you about – every time you enter a command into the console, you are going to need to put a ‘/’ beforehand.

As well, there are player-specific console commands, world-specific ones, and item commands; these are different in their own respects, so we will separate them accordingly.

Minecraft is a game that’s all about exploring and building, and it’s a fantastic creative outlet, so having the right cheats, tips and secret techniques at your disposal can really come in handy. Cheats in Minecraft can allow you to place any block anywhere you want, spawn hostile monsters and friendly creatures, get free and powerful gear, and even generate free resources in survival mode.

Minecraft cheats don’t require the installation of mods, but they still don’t work in every version of the game. Cheats are also unavailable if the option is disabled on the server that you’re playing on. Advanced techniques, glitches, and exploits are typically available regardless of the platform or server until they are patched, or fixed, by the developer.

How to Enter Minecraft Cheats on PC (Minecraft Java Edition)

If you want to use cheats in Minecraft: Java Edition on the PC, you need to enable them first. This can be accomplished by setting the cheats toggle switch to the on position when you start a brand new world. You can also turn cheats on in an existing world through an easy process:

Open the Game Menu.

Click Open to LAN.

Click Allow Cheats: OFF so that it changes to Allow Cheats: ON.

Click Start LAN World.

You’re ready to start using cheats.

Cheats in Minecraft: Java Edition involves typing commands into the console. The console can be opened by pressing the / button. When you open the console, you will see a box at the bottom of the screen that you can type into.

Cheat commands follow the basic syntax of /cheatname target x y z. In this example, cheatname is the name of the cheat, target is the name of the player you want to target, and x y z refers to the coordinates.

+1 would be shifted exactly one block, in each axis, from your own position.

Cheats for Minecraft Java Edition on PC

With creative mode activated, open your inventory to access a list of every block, item, and material in the game.
Note: You can d rag items you want onto your item bar, or select the survival inventory tab to place them in your personal inventory.

Turn on spectator modeType /gamemode spectator into the console.

Cheats on Minecraft Windows 10 Edition, Xbox One, Switch, and Other Better Together Platforms

Cheats in Minecraft: Windows 10 Edition, and other platforms that run the Better Together version of the game, have to be enabled before you can use them. This involves turning cheats on, which can be done either when you first start a world, or at any time after that.

If you want to enable cheats from the start, just enable the Activate Cheats toggle when creating a world.

Turning cheats on after you have already created a world is also possible:

Open the main menu.

Click on Settings.

On the right side of the screen, scroll down until you find the Cheats section.

Flip the Activate Cheats toggle.

Exit the menu, and cheats will be enabled.

If you enable cheats on Minecraft: Windows 10 Edition or Xbox One, players connected to your world will not be able to earn Xbox achievements for anything they accomplish while connected to your world. Even if you turn cheats back off, achievements will remain disabled.

How to Enable Cheats on Microsoft Devices

Some of the Windows 10, Switch, GearVR, and Xbox One Minecraft cheats can be enabled through a similar process to the one used to turn cheats on. That process is:

Open the main menu.

Select Settings.

On the right side of the screen, scroll down until you locate the Cheats section.

Activate the Activate Cheats toggle switch to enable cheats.

The switch must be flipped to the right.

Activate all of the cheats you want.

The left position is off, and the right position is on. So if you want to disable something like mob spawning, flip that toggle to the left.

Exit the menu and enjoy your cheats.

Cheats Available on Microsoft Versions of Minecraft

The cheats that can be activated in this way include:

Always Day	Turning it on prevents day from ever turning into night.
Keep Inventory	Turning it on prevents players from losing their items when they die.
Mob Spawning	Turning it off prevents enemies from spawning.
Mob Griefing	Prevents creepers from blowing up your creations, endermen from stealing blocks, etc.
Weather Cycle	Turning it off prevents the weather from changing.

Other cheats in Minecraft: Better Together are entered via the chat window, which can be opened by pressing the / key. Once the chat window is opened, you type the cheat you want to turn on, press enter, and the cheat will be activated.

Here are the cheat codes you can enter in the Windows 10, Xbox One, Switch, and other related versions of Minecraft:
