How to play All Star Tower Defense

The game works almost the same as other Tower defense games. To defend from incoming enemies, you place down or upgrade towers in your loadout using money. You can get money by killing an enemy, completing a wave, or by earning it from special towers such as Bellma (Money Corp), Salesman, Lami (Wuno) andWish. If too many enemies make it to the end of the path and your base health reaches zero, you lose. If you win, you gain coins, EXP, and gems. Coins and gems are used to summon new towers like Koku or Zaruto, which can be used in missions. EXP is gained dependant on which wave in infinite or story mode. The infinite mode EXP formula is most likely n(wave) or n(3wave) in extreme mode where n is the EXP gained per wave. For story mode however, the formula is n(StoryWave) or n(StoryWave)x3 for extreme mode. Like most other tower defense games, this is a strategy tower defense game meaning some towers or troops are better than others which brings in the strategy element. Character List has a list of all obtainable towers, and most of them can be obtained through summoning. The Hero Summon resets every hour, along with the emote shop. When you get enough EXP, you level up, which can make for more usable slots in your load out and allow you to do more Trials. Towers like Future T, a 4 star is very good for starting the game.

The Banner is a place where new units appear every hour, there are 3 types of banners that offer the types of units below:

One exeption are secrets unit that can be a 6-star or a 3-star. The chance to get is 1/2000 Banners:

Banner X is a banner that is free for everyone, this banner consists of decent 5 stars, 4 stars and 3 stars

banner Y is a banner unlocked by beating the Ant Kingdom story mode, this banner is the same as Banner X but has better units appearing

Banner Z is a banner unlocked by entering world 2 (being level 100), this banner consists of 6 stars, 5 stars and 4 stars

Towers

Towers can be placed almost all around the map, however some units can only be placed on the ground, while others must be placed on high ground. Towers can also be upgraded, which can be done by clicking/tapping on a tower, then pressing the upgrade button. When clicking/tapping on a tower, a card appears, which allows you to sell, upgrade, and see your tower’s stats. Towers also have many different abilities and can even change abilities when upgraded. For example, ZIO has his ability change from USELESS! to Road Roller. USELESS! stops the enemies from moving for a duration of time while Road Roller does the same thing but also does damage while active, dealing AOE damage.

Story Mode: Make your way through the campaign of the game, and try to beat missions with a party of up to four people. You can only go to the next level/map only if you’ve beaten the previous map/level. You earn secondary towers depending on the map you’re on, such as Alien Soldiers from Beginner Saga and Namu from Hero Dome. They are not recommended to be on your team as they are only used for evolutions.

Infinite Mode is a mode where you yry to survive as many waves as possible, where you can earn gems, coins, and EXP I\EXP II towers. You can get an EXP tower for every 10 waves beaten. Also, there is a leaderboard of the top 20 people who have gotten to the highest wave, and at the end of each month, those on the leaderboard earn 1,000 gems and an exclusive 6 star unit each, and is potentially the final way to earn gems after you complete basically every gem task in the game. There are different modes in Infinite mode with each having their own leaderboard reward:

Normal Infinite

This infinite mode only consists of all types of enemies and requires both air and ground units to be able to do it, its maps are (TBA)

Air Infinite

This infinite mode only consists of Air units as enemies and requires air units to be able to do it, its map is (TBA) and its leader board reward is (TBA)

Elemental Infinite

This infinite mode only consists of Elemental units as enemies and requires units that deal Bleed, Poison and Burn damage to be able to do it, its map is (TBA) and its leader board reward is (TBA)

Double Path Infinite

This infinite mode only consists of every enemy units as enemies and both air and ground units to be able to do it, its maps are (TBA)

Orange Head or Gildarts is one of the latest characters to join the humungous roster of All Star Tower Defense. He is a 6-star ground type character-based on Clive Gildarts from the Fairy tail series. To get Orange Head in your personal inventory, you will need to open the Christmas Box II or trade for the character from other players in the market.

How to get the Christmas Box II in Roblox All Star Tower Defense?

As mentioned earlier, you will need to acquire and open the Christmas Box II to get Orange Head. Do not confuse Christmas Boxes with the Christmas Gift as they both are entirely different from one another. To obtain the Christmas Box II, follow the steps given below.

Note: If the Elf is happy near the gift corner, you are more unlikely to find the Christmas Boxes in the summoning chart and vice versa.

All Star Tower Defense – Best Characters Tier List (August 2022)

All Star Tower Defense, ASTD for short, features a ton of unique characters for you to use in battle.

What characters you equip and use in battle has a major impact on your chances of winning or reaching greater heights in the infinite mode.

It can be difficult to know what characters you should roll for and bring onto your roster because there are so many.

That’s why we’ve created this All Star Tower Defense tier list to give you an overview of what the best characters in the game are.

To get the best characters in the game, you’re going to need to summon a bunch of times, so be sure to check out our All Star Tower Defense Codes List for all active codes!

All Star Tower Defense tier list

After playing ASTD for a while, you’ll get an idea of just how many unique characters there are to collect.

Characters come in different rarities, with the higher-stared ones usually being stronger than the lower-stared ones.

There are, however, still characters that are more powerful than characters with more stars, as you’ll see in the tier list below.

As higher-stared characters usually are stronger, it also means you have to do more summons to get the best characters in the game, as they have a smaller summon probability.

Summons cost either Gems or Gold, depending on the type of summon.

At the start of the game, you can only add three different characters to your roster, but at level 15, 30, and 50, you unlock the fourth, fifth, and sixth character slot, bringing your total roster to six characters.

Because you can only bring a limited number of characters, it’s important you optimize your roster and bring powerful and useful characters to ensure you can keep your ground.

The following tier list ranks all 6-star characters, all 5-star characters, and some 4-star characters based on how powerful or useful they are in All Star Tower Defense.

Most 4-star characters and all 3-star characters are not listed, as they are not useful or strong enough later on in the game.

They should just be used while you are progressing through the game.

Furthermore, this tier list focuses on PvE – Story Mode, Trial Mode, and Infinite Mode.

All the listed characters are given a rank from S to D, with S being the highest and D being the lowest rank.

Some characters have a + next to their rank, which means that they are even more powerful or useful than their assigned rank.

This tier list will be updated as new characters or updates are released and when the meta changes.

The current tier list is based on the tier lists created by All Star Tower Defense Youtubers, Blam Spot, Frexy HD & Fminusmic as well as input from All Star Tower Defense Subreddit users, and the ASTD community.

Best characters in All Star Tower Defense

There are a lot of characters to use on your team in All Star Tower Defense, and a lot of them are very strong.

But even though you might feel like you have built a great team, chances are you find yourself struggling to beat a specific level in the story mode or reach a specific wave in the infinite mode.

To help you progress, here are some of the best characters for you to use in ASTD that can help you progress further.

The following heroes are just some of the best in the game, and you’ll get an explanation as to why these are so powerful.

If a character isn’t listed in the following section of this guide, it doesn’t mean that it cannot be one of the best in the game.

We’ve just picked some of the best with a special utility, power, etc., that we believe you should know about.

Bellma (Money Corp)

UPDATE: Several units that fulfill the same purpose as Bellma (Money Corp) have been released since this was written. The best money-generating unit at the moment is Jeff (CEO).

Bellma (Money Corp), a character in All Star Tower Defense based on Bulma from the Dragon Ball universe, is a character that most top players always have on their team.

She is a support character, which means that she doesn’t deal any damage.

Nevertheless, Bellma (Money Corp) is among the best characters in the game because of her ability that is generating money.

After every single wave, she generates an amount of money depending on her level and in-game upgrade level.

When you acquire some of the higher-stared characters in the game, having Bellma (Money Corp) becomes almost a necessity in some situations, as the cost of building and upgrading characters becomes so large.

With the release of Salesman, you want to build him instead if you have him, as he provides a bit more money per round at a higher build cost, though.

If you don’t have Salesman, you should use Bellma, as she is still among the most useful characters in the game.

Zorro

UPDATE: A stronger version of Zorro has been released – Zorro (Serious), which is now one of the strongest units in the game.

Zorro is an Air, also known as Hill, unit in All Star Tower Defense who is based on Dracule Mihawk from the One Piece universe.

Characters of the air type can only be placed on hills on the map.

The reason why Zorro is among one of the best characters in ASTD is his incredible range paired with his massive AoE damage.

When fully upgraded, Zorro can dish out a ton of damage to many enemies at once, even at great distances.

Because his attack range is so great, he performs the best on maps where he can take advantage of this.

Furthermore, because he is so powerful, he is also very expensive to build and upgrade.

These two factors, his massive range, and high cost because of damage, makes him best suited for the Infinite Mode, where you can farm a lot of money because the waves keep on coming and the maps are very large.

Bringing Bellma (Money Corp) on your team is a great idea if you are using Zorro, as you, as mentioned, need a lot of money to fully upgrade him.

UPDATE: Kura is still a strong unit, but his upgraded version Kura (Darkness) is stronger.

Kura is a very special character in All Star Tower Defense who is based on Light Yagami from Death Note.

What makes Kura special and as powerful as he is, is his manual ability, Write Names, which deals massive damage to all enemies within a large range of his position.

You can use this ability once every 8 minutes by clicking him and clicking the ‘Write Names’ button.

Even though the cooldown of this ability is so large, it is still so powerful that it can clear an entire wave you couldn’t deal with, making Kura one of the best characters in the game.

Kura is even more expensive to build than Zorro, making him suitable for the Infinite Mode mostly, and it’s recommended to have Bellma (Money Corp) as well.

Onwin

Onwin is another support character in All Star Tower Defense that is extremely useful because of his ability.

The character is based on Erwin from the Attack on Titan series.

What makes Onwin as good in the game as he is, is his ability, Shinzou o sasageyo, which significantly boosts the damage of towers within his range.

At the maximum level and maximum upgrade-level, his buff will increase the damage of towers by 89.5%.

Onwin is not expensive to build compared to other towers, making him a solid pick for all game modes in All Star Tower Defense.

Black Stache (Timeskip)

Black Stache (Timeskip) is the evolved and stronger version of Blackstache in All Star Tower Defense.

He is based on the character Blackbeard from the One Piece universe.

The timeskip version of Black Stache is a 6-star character who deals a bunch of AoE damage.

On top of his incredible damage, Black Stache (Timeskip) also has a slow through his Liberation ability.

Despite being one of the best characters in the game and having amazing damage, he is not that expensive of a character to build and upgrade, making him great for the different game modes.
