So which preposition (in or of) should I use? And how is the correct answer?

«Birthday» generally is just a month and day.
If I specifically want to know when someone was born, I would ask «What is your date of birth.»
As for «guys» please note that some of our forum members are females offended by that assumption and while you are trying to be «folksy,» it’s not always appreciated.

Mahau, if the answer (duly corrected, of course, see the posts above) is «On the 22th of January of the year 1989», then the question is «What’s your date of birth?» «When were you born»? Not «When’s your birthday»?
And thanks for defending the category, sdg. Being called a guy doesn’t offend me but I find it extremely irritating.
