Biography

The Wedding Hand

A woman named Jenni enters a public bathroom and starts panicking for unknown reasons. She hides in one of the stalls and keeps noticing the Look-See’s shoes in the stall next to her, when she peaks over the Look-See is gone and she goes to exit the stall, only to look down and see the Look-See’s shoes in front of the stall. The Look-See tries dragging her out but she persists and drops her wedding ring in the toilet. She then looks up to find the Look-See standing on the toilet as he lifts her up into the air and tears her hand off, as she didn’t drop the ring in and caught it at the last second.

The Mistress Mind

Another woman by the name Marlene is resting in her house. She starts noticing someone spying on her. She starts going out, looking around her house trying to solve who is spying on her. In the end she runs away from the Look-See and hides in the bathroom, peaking out to make sure the coast is clear and having the curtains shut in front of her. She is then revealed to have been decapitated by the Look-See.

The Fathers Hug

The episode begins with a man baking a birthday cake by himself. Intercut with this is shots of a young girl apparently having drowned. The man eats the cake while looking at photos of him and the girl, who seems to be his daughter.

He looks up to find what appears to be the girl standing in the door way to the room, only for her to disappear once he draws close. The man investigates, only to be attacked by the LookSee and chased back into the kitchen.

The man throws away the cake, and this seems to make the Look-See vanish, only for it to reappear inches from his face, it being revealed that he did not throw away the slice he had been eating.

The Look-See twists the mans head back wards and cuts off both his arms, leaving in his severed hands on the table and taking with it the child’s red ribbon.

The Backwards Watch

The part begins with revealing that despite the injuries suffered, Jenni is still alive and is currently recovering in a hospital room. She awakens to find what appears to be her husband sitting at the foot of her bed, only for his eyes to vanish as his now clawed, red gloved hand squeezes down on one of Jenni’s broken legs before turning into the Look-See.

The demon calmly opens its mouth, vomiting up its signature stop watch. This enrages Jenni, who grabs a nearby fork, stabbing the Look-See in the throat, causing it to collapse to the ground. Even with both legs in casts and missing a hand, Jenni painfully crawls with her remaining arm to the creature, stabbing down and missing as it flees the room.

Hauling herself back onto her bed, Jenni stares at the watch she holds, looking up to find the Look-See grinning maniacally.

The Second Home

Season two begins during the Great Depression, where the Capshaw Family is fleeing New York City to live in a cabin secluded within the woods. As they walk, the youngest of the family, Leah, spots the Look-See peering at her from behind a tree.

Later that night, Capshaw Father James walks into the cabins barn, finding what turns out to be a Foreclosure Notice from the very bank he and his brother used to run. Next he discovers a dollar bill with the Look-Sees infamous warning, and finally none other than the Look-Sees pocket watch.

The Look-See attacks James, being interrupted by the arrival of three bandits. Thomas, William and Raymond, the third stabbing James to death as the other two rob him of his belongings, among them the demons watch. Angered by this, the Look-See kills William by driving a pitchfork through his back. The episode ends with Thomas and Raymond fleeing from the demon.

The Second Thief

This episode starts at a small camp occupied by Thomas and Raymond, the latter asleep in their tent as Thomas walks outside, running into a note posted on a tree, the iconic proclamation of «If you yourself cannot release, then it will come to take a piece» Scribbled on it.

The frightened Thomas burns the note before hunkering down in the tent by himself, Raymond seemingly having vanished. From outside he spies the shadow of the Look-See creeping past the tent, vanishing right before it reaches the opening.

Thomas turns around to find the Look-See sitting behind him, scaring the young man out. Slowly rising, the Look-See toys with Thomas by peeking over the edge of the tent it is holding, before suddenly materializing from around a tree next to him. Thomas tries to run, only to trip and fall, breaking his leg.

The Look-See grabs him, hoisting its prey straight up into the air. Just then, Raymond returns from wherever he had went, correctly suspecting something is above him, he looks up. This results in him being drenched in the blood of the now torn in half remains of Thomas. Raymond then senses something behind him, whirling around to drive his switchblade into the Look-Sees gut.

Unfazed by this in the slightest, the Look-See stares at Raymond as he runs off into the woods. The man does not get far, for soon the Look-See appears once more, grabbing Raymond by the throat and effortlessly lifting him off the ground with one hand.

The creature prepares to kill him, only to freeze once it realizes that unlike all others it has slaughtered, Raymond does not regret doing anything, not even murdering James Capshaw. With this, its near constant cheshire grin turns into a frown, setting Raymond down and letting him run away. It later returns to the camp to retrieve its watch.

The Second Love

The episode starts with Capshaw Mother Mary finding a crude drawing within the cabin, said drawing being of her and her family with the Look-See towering over them. She turns around to find the white-fur coat she wears dangling on a rope, spattered with blood. Looking at the drawing again, she discovers the Look-Sees warning written on the back.

Said creature appears underneath the table, upside down as it goes to attack her. Mary runs for the door, stopping as the Look-See uses its powers to lift her off the ground by her pearl necklace, nearly strangling her before it breaks. Mary flees into a bedroom, finding within a note stating that «If you yourself cannot release, then it will come to take a piece.». Alongside what seems to be the sleeping figure of her deceased youngest son Theodore.

In his hands is Mary’s pearl necklace, that Mary touches. This results in Theodore awakening and vomiting up blood, as from behind Mary the Look-See dangles upside down from the ceiling. Leah enters the room to find Mary dead, her chest with a hole blown clean through it.

Leah dips her finger into the blood, using it to X out Mary from the drawing she holds, the Look-See standing next to her with a smile as she does so.

The Second Hand

The episode starts with Capshaw child David sprinting towards the cabin after hearing Mary scream, only to stop when he sees what looks like his mother waving happily from the window. David waves back, entering the barn to find a stuffed Teddy Bear that used to belong to his younger brother Theodore, and within a hole torn into its stomach a neatly folded note with the Look-Sees warning.

As he stares at the bear, the blank faced corpses of Thomas and James hover behind him, vanishing when he turns around. Going back into the house, David finds the body of Mary seated within a rocking chair in a corner. He goes to leave, only for the Look-See to appear behind him, pinning the boy to the wall.

David flees into a bedroom, baring the door as he stares at the Teddy Bear, assuming that it is what the demon wants him to release. He tears its head off, only to be startled as a clawed, red gloved hand reaches out of it. The hand scuttles under the bed, reemerging as the Look-See, who grabs David and twists his head backwards.

With all dead save the Look-See and Leah, the two walk into the living room, where Leah sets the creatures watch on the ground just as the hands both strike twelve. Both hands then spin about as the watch opens, a darkness within it. Leah and the Look-See watch as suddenly, clawed fingers near identical to the Look-Sees, wearing blue gloves instead of red reach out, the shadow of a entity that greatly resembles the Look-See rising as Leah watches on with a terrified face.

Appearance

The Look-See appears as a tall, well built man, dressing in a black suit jacket, pants and dress shoes. His long, black clawed hands wear fingerless red cloth gloves. His face is devoid of most features, lacking eyes, a nose, or ears. Crossing it is many bloody gashes. His skin color is a sickly pale orange. The only feature it does have is a large, lipless mouth filled with many pointed yellow teeth, said mouth almost always stretched in a sinister grin.

Personality

The Look-See is a very twisted and merciless creature, especially towards his victims, seemingly wielding no remorse for what happens to them. He is sadistic, cruel, and extremely demented, and has been this way as early as the 1930’s. However, the Look-See does truly want to help free people from their grief and doesn’t always seem pleased when his victims have no remorse to show, as evident when he looks into Raymond’s soul and sees he feels no guilt, frowning upon this realization and reluctantly letting him go.

Description

Two killers who don’t care for anything besides killing everyone they come across fight to the «death»

Interlude

Wiz: There are murderers who are bloodlust, some are psychopaths. But then there are some who are silent

Boomstick: And deadly. Just like my Uncle.

Boomstick: Of course. But anyway, The Look-See, The one who comes and takes a piece. Of CryptTV

Wiz: And Michael Myers, Halloween’s Haddonfield slasher

Boomstick: He was Wiz and i’m Boomstick

Wiz: And it is our job to analyse their weapons, armor & skills to find out who will win a Death Battle

The Look-See

Wiz: One day, a sad event happened in which 13 children died of poisoning. There were also funerals for said kids in which one of their mothers who is a police officer started investigating the area

Boomstick: While looking, she found a photo on the floor which was of her son, One of the deceased victims..Shame whoever got them all killed by the way, However the officer noticed something on the back of the photo. What was there was a weird message that rhymes which said «If you yourself cannot release, then it will come and take a piece» So what, is that thing gonna take a slice of pizza or something!?

Wiz: While looking, she went to the stage because there was a mysterious man looking around in which she hid behind the curtains. When climbing the steps, she saw two hands that were red gloves. Which revealed to be of the monster known simply as The Look-See.

Boomstick: She then ran from the vicious creature just to bump into the crazy dude. However the Look-See caught that guy and lifted him in mid-air, Likely telekinesis and cut his face, then dropped the dude and dragged him away. Poor guy likely has wife and kids

Wiz: However that same man would become The Look-See’s assistant who would put notes with the phrase «If you yourself cannot release, then it would come and take a piece» Especially one in a bathroom in which a woman named Jennie entered.

Boomstick: I am tempting to tell a joke about bathrooms i don’t even know why..

Wiz: She became the next target for The Look-See..The result was the monster brutally injured her, breaking her leg was the most notable. But as it seems, The Look-See wants its victims to take away something from their life that they need to release.

Boomstick: The Look-See then goes after a woman, she was being chased by the creature in which she hid in the bathroom for whatever reason. That would be her downfall has The Look-See decapitated her head after it managed to close the curtains on her. Ouch.

Wiz: The Look-See’s assistant is then seen comitting suicide by falling off a tall building, Which half of his head is missing, Like if someone chopped it off.

Boomstick: With him gone, The Look-See went to seek another assistant. Jennie? Which she ended up stabbing the monster with a fork. Ouch, The Look-See was bleeding and fell to the floor Hahahahah. Wow. But before Jennie could bring the final blow, He teleported away. That son of a bitch!

Wiz: The Look-See later went to terrorise a family, killed someone who had a teddy bear that he torn apart, Creepy enough The Look-See’s hand crawled out of the head of it. The Look-See was also shown lifting a woman with telekinesis and also

Boomstick: James A. Janisse. By the throat, Hmmmmm.

Wiz: The Look-See is a master of stealth also. It can teleport fast, it has a healing factor and possesses super strength and mind control. Overall The Look-See is one monster you need to keep an eye on. Because one blink could be your end.

Boomstick: He is right behind us

Wiz: Don’t try scaring me Boomstick..

Michael Myers

Wiz: In 1963 lived the Myers family in haddonfield illinois, However one of the family members which is the daughter who was stabbed to death by the son. Michael Myers is a bad seed who’s intensions are simply evil, as he was responsible for the girl’s death, he then left the house and was caught by police officers. There he was with a knife, Six year old Michael was wearing a clown costume and didn’t say a word. Not because he can’t. But because he chooses not to.

Boomstick: He was then sent to custody in which he remained there. But years later, he escaped and went on another killing spree, responsible for several murders and stalked a teenage girl named Laurie Strode who would become his biggest obstacle. Laurie had been surviving against Michael for years, since Myers was 21 if counting 1963 to 1978. Just some trivia because i was bored.

Wiz: Dr. Sam Loomis who knew Michael when he was in custody helped Laurie survive the murderer, and shot him three times, causing him to fall off the balcony. But as powerful as evil was he escaped. Years later Michael finds his mask and continues his killing spree in which his mask looks more rusty and aged.

Boomstick: Michael Myers has had a lot of obstacles trying to kill Laurie and Sam Loomis, However Laurie also has gotten older and was preparing for Myers’s attack and burnt him on fire. However he cannot be killed. But did he die? Likely not.

Wiz: Michael Audrey-

Boomstick: Don’t you even dare mention his middle name or I’m out.

Wiz: Sorry. But anyway Michael Myers has been murdering from 1963 to present and this man has not been killed yet. Which is ridiculous how a man can survive gunshots, stabs, being ran over and so on.

Boomstick: Michael is one spooky motherfucker that he is stealthy enough for his prey’s to not realise he is behind them.

Wiz: Michael was also strong enough to hang a man on a wall by pinning him onto it and stabbed him. He is also strong enough to crush someone’s head like a pumpkin that their head is now one bloody mess.

Boomstick: Michael is also strong enough to lift grown men with ease, even a fatass

Wiz: Son of a Chicken Nugget, Boomstick. Do you really need to make a pun on Haddonfield this early in the research?

Boomstick: I was just bored.

Wiz: Oh..But overall Michael Myers is an unkillable force that is truly pure evil enough to kill anyone and anything.

Intermission

Wiz: Alright the combatants are set, lets end this debate once and for all

Boomstick: It’s time for a DEATH BATTLE!

Pre-Fight

Haddonfield Illionis, 1999

Michael Myers has finally escaped the mental institution and begins his killing spree. He met one guy who tried to fight back. With all his might, Michael Myers grabbed the man by the neck and stabbed him in the gut. The man’s final words were strange however, but something Myers didn’t care about. The man uttered.

«If you, yourself cannot release. Then it will come to take a piece.»

Just as the man said that, he slowly vanished without a trace. Is this an illusion? Is this reality? what even happened? Such thoughts in Michael’s mind flew around his head. But that was cut short when he heard. Something. Behind him was a man, or rather..Thing in a grey suit. Its face was more notable than the rest. In fact, it had no eyes. No nose. Like how Michael’s eyes are the blackest eyes. The devil’s eyes. However this monster had razor sharp teeth. Razor sharp claws that looked far more vicious than a wolf, or rather something predatory.

Its mouth began to widen, Michael raised his knife; pointing at the monster. He wanted to make sure this thing dies quickly, and to give it a slow and painful death. The monster began to charge at Michael. It was incredibly faster than he thought. It tried to cut Michael, but Michael cut its hand. The monster didn’t flinch however. Which is why Michael decided to stab it in the gut instead. The monster responded with a stab in the gut of its own. The monster vanished without a trace. Michael thought it was all over. Wrong.

The monster appeared behind Michael. Both went into their stances and began to fight.

Trivia

LGBTQ Trivia

A week before the CryptTV Collection’s release to the Game, BHVR’s Twitter account posted a sneak peek of the upcoming Collection.

As CryptTV was known to feature LGBTQ characters in its horror shorts, some Community members started wondering if these Legendary Outfits were possibly linked to a then still relatively recent statement by BHVR of including LGBTQ characters in the future.

While the CryptTV Collection characters themselves are not the characters BHVR had referred to, CryptTV released a tweet stating that the three CryptTV Collection characters are part of the LGBTQ community. [1]

Work Text:

‘IF YOU YOURSELF CANNOT RELEASE, THEN IT WILL COME TO TAKE A PIECE’

Ren read the words, written in blood along the freezer. That had not been there that morning. He takes a step back, and a crash from upstairs catches his attention, his ear turning towards the sound. His blood runs cold, and he races up the stairs to shut the basement door, locking it quickly.

Someone was in the house.

Ren turns, and walks quietly back down the stairs, listening for any more noises.

The silence is deafening, and the smell of blood that Ren had become accustomed to returns to his senses full force, and he recalls his first night in the basement. Tied to the pole, Strade’s grin wide as ever as the knife glints in his hand.

Ren winces, breaking out of the memory of the cold steel slicing into his skin, and completes his descent.

He reads the words again.

‘’IF YOU YOURSELF CANNOT RELEASE, THEN IT WILL COME TO TAKE A PIECE’

Ren felt his hair stand on end, the air suddenly going cold, and he feels a clawed hand creeping onto his shoulder.

Ren gasps, whirling around and stumbling back, but nothing was there. He took another step back, bumping into the freezer. He found himself breathing faster, his senses screaming danger. He feels like he’s being watched.

He looks around the basement, his eyes falling on a can of gasoline. It’s then that he knows what he has to do.

He sees something in the corner of his eye as walks for the can, and he turns, seeing nothing again. Ren swallows tightly. Whatever was here wasn-

Ren had turned again only to come face to face with an eyeless creature, it’s face looking like skin was layered over it, and a wide, sharp tooth smile, bent forward to stay at Ren’ level. The creature chuckled at Ren’s fear, the sound more like a creaky door being opened in slow motion.

Ren cries out, stumbling backwards, and turning to bolt up the stairs. He fumbles with the lock, before managing to open the basement door and scramble into the living room

The sight of Strade’s shirt laying neatly on the coffee table makes him freeze. Ren shakes his head as he walks towards it, breath hitching as he picks it up, holding it tightly as he brings it up to his face, inhaling, the scent taking him back, to Strade holding him after clicking the collar around him, the gentle touches after being patched up from his latest punishment, the warmth of his strong arms around him…

When Ren opens his eyes, the creature is before him, crouched on the coffee table, it’s clawed gloved hands resting on its knees. Ren screams, falling back as the creature leaps at him. It lands on its feet as Ren barely dodges out of the way.

The creature is tall, much taller than is human, wearing a suit and red fingerless gloves.

Ren scrambles back as the creature reaches for him, and he runs for the door only to nearly bump into the monster. A terrified sob escapes Ren’s throat as he is herded back down to the basement. He runs down the stairs, too scared to look behind, and he hides behind the freezer, and his gaze travels back to the can of gasoline, and back to the shirt in his hand.

Next thing he knows he is up and grabbing the gasoline cn and throwing open the freezer, and he pauses.

The memory of seeing Strade on the ground, bleeding from the neck, his newest victim dead nearby. Strade’s demands for Ren to help him. The petrification Ren felt a the moment returns to him as he looks over his former captor’s frozen form. His hand grips the gasoline canister tighter as he clutches the shirt in the other.

The can drops from Ren’s hand as another sob escapes him, and he falls to his knees.

He doesn’t have time to scream as the creature grabs him by the throat, pulling him backwards away from the freezer.

He is found sometime later, his heart ripped from his chest, the burnt remains of the missing organ laying nearby, eyes left wide open with fear.

Description

CryptTV vs. The Babadook. Either release your grief, or these two will come for you.

Introduction

Wiz: The emotion grief is never viewed in a positive light, but it is still something we must live with and go through, less we uncover some personal demons.

Boomstick: And sometimes they’re not the metaphorical kind. Like the Look-See, who will come to take a piece if you cannot release.

Wiz: And the Babadook, who you cannot get rid off if it’s in a word or a look.

Boomstick: He’s Wiz and I’m Boomstick.

Wiz: And it’s our job to analyze their weapons, armor and skills to find out who would win a Death Battle.

Look-See

Wiz: The world of Crypt TV is filled with some very twisted and dangerous monsters; a voice-changing Mimic that preys on a family, a suburban cult dedicated to removing humanity’s wastes-of-space, and even a man made of cake who cuts off the fingers of children. But all these pale in comparison to the Divine Creatures.

Boomstick: A collection of monsters who you do not want to get on their bad side. And unfortunately, each one of them has a way to put you on that bad side.

Wiz: Right; for some it’s threatening those they’ve sworn to protect, or for others it’s simply for ticking them off.

Boomstick: Looking at you Brute, with your weird door. Seriously, he does not like to be ding-dong ditched.

Wiz: But only one of these monsters goes by the creed, ‘If you yourself cannot release, then it will come to take a piece’. And that monster is the Look-See.

Boomstick: The Divine Creature that Looks and Sees for people who have a hard time moving on.

Wiz: Boomstick, I thought you held off on puns until the end of the episode.

Boomstick: Yeah well, I’m having a hard time coming up for a good one in this episode, so I’m going to be brainstorming for a while.

Wiz: Well, in spite of that, you are kind of correct about the Look-See’s modus operandi; if there is a person having a particular hard time moving on from any grief or lingering attachments, then the Look-See will come to them and force them to move on.

Popup: It’s been speculated that the Look-See’s summoning was caused by the poisoning of 13 kids.

Boomstick: And we’re not talking about therapy here, because if the Look-See deems you unable to move on, then it’s going to take a piece. of you!

Wiz: Was that another pun?

Boomstick: No. maybe.

Wiz: In any case, to accomplish it’s mission, the Look-See has several supernatural powers at its disposal, most notably it’s teleportation prowess, able to vanish at the exact moment it would step into somebody’s line of sight. Based on observation, it also appears that the Look-See is capable of hovering in mid-air, like the time he yanked a thief straight upwards.

Boomstick: And split him in half like a piece of timber. The Look-See can also manifest the appearances of other people, although it’s unknown if it’s through illusions or Shapeshifting.

Popup: This dubiousness comes from when the Look-See created a copy of a woman’s husband, which, after it squeezed her broken leg and proved itself to have a physical presence, was shown to be sitting next to the Look-See itself.

Wiz: The Look-See is also capable of manipulating time in a small space, stopping it for a long period of, well, non-time. Oh, and it’s inhumanly strong.

Boomstick: So strong, it could crack a Crypt! No, that’s alliteration, not a pun.

Wiz: To break the bones of human beings that easily, the Look-See would need to be exerting nearly 50 thousand joules of force.

Boomstick: The Look-See is also pretty resilient, surviving a stab straight through the throat with a fork, and has even likely regenerated from losing an arm. But most of all, it’s battled against other Crypt TV monsters, and they have all sorts of gnarly powers.

Wiz: One battle, in particular, had the Look-See defeated a creature created by the wish-granting Telos, a wish to kill the Look-See.

Boomstick: And the Look-See straight up rendered that wish empty. But it has it’s own fair of failings, like missing the chance to kill that police woman, or being unable to kill Dead Meat James. But hey, I can’t blame it, probably just wanted him to do the next Kill Count.

Wiz: But to those watching remember this warning; if you find a note claiming something will come to take a piece from you should you not be able to release, move forward fast, because if you don’t, a brutal death awaits you at the hands of a red-gloved monster.

Babadook

Wiz: In the Australian City of Adelaide, a woman named Amelia Vanek has undergone a great tragedy; the loss of her husband in a freak accident.

Boomstick: And leaving her raising her young son by herself. Can’t be too bad though. I mean sure, he creates weapons and screams about monsters under his bed, but hey, we were all kids once.

Wiz: But it turns out that Amelia’s troubles went further that being a single mother. Although they could be considered a catalyst considering it was her son’s request for a bedtime story that unleashed something into their lives.

Boomstick: Hey, the kid wanted a bedtime story, what was she gonna do. Or should I say, Babado?

(The scrunching of paper is heard)

Wiz: Turns out that book Amelia picked at random was no ordinary book, because it was the calling card of the Babadook.

Boomstick: Ba-ba-ba dook-dook-dook.

Wiz: Knock it off! Gives me the creeps.

Boomstick: Well duh! This thing is one of the most despicable things to have ever existed.

Wiz: You mean a writhing mass of pure darkness which latches onto its targets denial and grief, uses it become stronger over time, terrorizes said target for days on end, before forcing them to go on a killing spree?

Popup: Some theorize that the Babadook is in fact a hallucination or metaphor of Amelia’s grief. For the sake of the Death Battle, we’ll be treating it as a real entity.

Boomstick: No; a book!

Wiz: Ugh. well you do have a point actually. The book is kind of morbid, especially the part with the murdering, and the Babadook’s own name is an anagram for ‘bad book’.

Boomstick: Oh yeah, didn’t notice that. In that case, our show could be called Beath Dattle.

Wiz: Back to the writing pad Boomstick.

Boomstick: I’ll writing pad you.

Wiz: Don’t go making empty threats Boomstick, because that’s something the Babadook doesn’t do often, since it will make full use of its powers to drive a person mad.

Boomstick: It can crawl over the ceiling like a spider, teleport to wherever it wants and can even project itself on the television.

Popup: The Babadook can also manifest its coat nearly anywhere, showing its omnipotent skills.

Wiz: The most significant ability of the Babadook however is its ability to possess people; if all else fails, then this is its go-to solution for getting murders done as soon as possible.

Boomstick: And it has plenty of time to do so as well, because it’s all but confirmed that once you know or hear about the Babadook, there’s no way for you to get rid off it.

Wiz: Even its book won’t go away; tearing or burning it will just have it come back better than new after a while, ready to continue its promise of driving a person to become a cold-blooded killer.

Boomstick: And it very nearly succeeded as well; it drove Amelia to kill her own dog, and pull out one of her own teeth, and that’s the nasty tooth! Hay-Ho!

Wiz: Pun aside, the ability to drive a person to remove one of their own teeth shows an extraordinary amount of mental dominant of behalf of the Babadook.

Boomstick: I told you that books where bad for your brain.

Wiz: Don’t forget, the library watches this show and they have al your favorite gun magazines.

Boomstick: Books are okay in my opinion! But you know something that wasn’t okay for the Babadook; the power of a son’s love. Aw, I hope you realized what you missed out on Boomstick Sr.

Wiz: Samuel’s unconditional love certainly did a number of the Babadook, but it didn’t exactly kill it. On the contrary, all it did was force the Babadook into its new home; the house basement.

Boomstick: Meaning that the Babadook will always exist, no matter how much you battle or it, or how many worms you feed it.

Wiz: Just like the emotion of grief, you can’t get rid of the Babadook.

Interlude

Wiz: Alright, the combatants are set, time to end this debate once and for all.

Boomstick: It’s time for a Dook Battle! Get it?

Wiz: Boomstick, choose one, and shut it!

Boomstick: Fine; stifle my creativity.

The Battle

A young woman sat in her chair in the living room of a large house, flicking through a picture book of past memories. Suddenly, she noticed something out of the corner of her eye; a book she had never seen before, sitting on the table beside her, having apparently come out of nowhere. Puzzled, the woman picked it up and turned it over, reading the cover; Mister Babadook.

The woman opened the book halfway, but obscuring the writing was a slip of paper, which possessed three lines of ominous writing; If you yourself cannot release, then it will come to take a piece.

As she looked at the slip of paper, the front door swung open. The woman looked up in surprise, but found there was nobody there.

But there was something beside her when she turned her head to the side; the Look-See.

The woman leapt to her feet in shock and backed away from the creature as it observed her silently, even as she backed against the wall hyperventilating.

And then she sensed another presence above her; looking up, she saw the Babadook clinging to the ceiling above her. Before she could let out a scream, it descended down and vanished, taking possession of the woman’s body. She twitched for a moment, before fixing the Look-See with a murderous glare.

The possessed woman reached behind her and seized a letter opener, brandishing it like a knife as she charged at the Look-See, swinging it down at the monster. The Look-See responded by neatly sidestepping the vicious downwards swing, and stepped back when the woman went for a wide slash. The woman tried for another downwards slash, but her wrist was wrapped by the Look-See in a clawed grip; lifting the woman off her feet via the hold on her wrist before delivering a power strike with its other fist, sending the woman flying back and through the door to the kitchen.

Within the new room, the woman slammed into the central unit, and slumped onto the floor to watch as the Look-See started towards her. Getting back to her feet, she reached behind her and pulled a knife from the containment block, hurling it straight at the Look-See, which vanished before it could get hit. The woman turned to see the Look-See had teleported to the other side of the kitchen unit, prompting her to pull another knife from the block and throw it at her aggressor, only for the Look-See to vanish once more, this time appearing right beside her. The moment the woman turned around, the Look-See raked its claws across her face, leaving large, bloody scratches. In spite of the wounds, the woman grabbed the serrated knife and slashed at the Look-See. This time, the attack connected and deeply cut into the Look-See’s throat with its serrated edge.

Yet the Look-See appeared nonplussed, and the woman’s eyes widened in surprise. Releasing the knife still sticking out of the Look-See’s throat, she turned around temporarily to grab the largest knife from the block, but when she turned back, it wasn’t the Look-See standing in front of her.

And in her moment of confusion, the Look-See’s hands reached from underneath the cabinet and seized a hold of her knees with enough force to break them. The woman screamed in pain as she fell forward, turning over in spite of the pain to see the Look-See crawling out from underneath the cabinet and standing up above her. As it watched, her body started to convulse, before a black substance spurted from her mouth.

As the last drop left her body, the Babadook was standing before the Look-See, its arms by its side and staring down the rival creature. Then the Babadook and Look-See flexed their claws and darted forward, swinging out with their respective talons twice, slashing each other across the face then chest. The Look-See went for another slash, only for the wrist to be grabbed by the Babadook, who grinned at the Look-See.

This was the precursor for the Look-See suddenly shooting upwards into the air, gripped by the Babadook’s telekinesis. It smashed straight through the ceiling and up into the according room; the bedroom. There, the Look-See smashed into the ceiling, only this time there wasn’t enough power to also crash all the way through it. Its forceful assent brought to an end, the Look-See levitated itself down onto the ground, peering through the hole to see that the Babadook had vanished.

The Look-See suddenly teleported as the Babadook, which had appeared behind it, slashed at it with its claws, the Look-See having foreseen the attack. The Look-See reappeared behind the Babadook, and as it turned in surprise, the Look-See seized a hold of its face with its gloved hand, smashing the Babadook’s head into the wall opposite, spreading cracks along it. The Babadook’s hands gripped the Look-See’s arm as it tried to prize off the hold on its face. The Look-See wouldn’t be budged as it looked on at the Babadook’s efforts, slowly pushing its head further against the wall. The Babadook let out a ghostly wail of what appeared to be desperation, before it suddenly teleported out of the Look-See’s grasp, appearing behind it. Before the Look-See could react, the Babadook grabbed a hold of the back of its collar and hurled it straight towards the door, which shattered under the impact.

The Look-See slid across the landing, coming it a stop at the far end. Remaining stiff as a board, the Look-See rose back to its feet in a 90 degree angle rise to watch as an consuming wall of darkness advanced towards it, the Babadook’s arms extending from it. A gust of unnatural wind blew through the corridor, sounding like a sinister wail.

The Look-See, meanwhile, appeared un-phased even as the darkness crept around it, turning its head slightly as the Babadook’s arms extended out, ready to grab the Look-See.

Only for the Look-See to seized a hold of the Babadook’s arms and rip them straight off. A wail resonated throughout the darkness as the stumps of the Babadook’s arms spurted out black liquid. The Babadook’s face loomed out the darkness to leer at the Look-See, only to find its movements were becoming sluggish, whilst the Look-See walked casually away from it at normal speed. The Babadook had been afflicted by the Look-See’s time manipulation, and the former watched the latter descend down the stairs and back to the living room. The absence of the Look-See removed the time stop and the Babadook teleported itself into the living room, where it was greeted by a terrible sight for itself.

It’s book was being held open by the Look-See, the popup of the Babadook visible. As the Babadook watched in horror, the maw of the Look-See opened wide to bite down on the book, crumpling the popup in the process before tearing out a large portion of the book. The Babadook let out a deafening scream as the darkness it was composed of vanished and it’s hat and coat fell to the floor, empty of their wearer forever.

The Babadook’s hat and coat remain crumpled in the place they fell, as the injured woman looked up, dazed by the pain, to see the Look-See offering her its watch.

Outcome

Boomstick: Okay, that was more than a little confusing. Wiz, what just happened.

Wiz: Don’t worry, I’ll explain it all.

Popup: Although the Look-See spares individuals who have nothing to release, the same principle does not apply to monsters.

Boomstick: Well, you don’t have explain all of it; I know from good old intuition that the Look-See was defiantly the stronger of the two. The Babadook lifting up a 10 year old with telekinesis doesn’t really stack up to the Look-See being able to tear people in half with its bare hands.

Wiz: Indeed, but to be fair to the Babadook, it could measure up to the Look-See with some of the powers that they possessed. Both could cast illusions, both had teleportation and both could use telekinesis or levitation. But the Look-See had several other abilities that the Babadook just didn’t, such as its time stopping and more consistent ability to recover from damage. Which brings us to our next point of discussion.

Boomstick: Like how on Earth the Look-See was going to be able to actually kill the Babadook? I mean, it’s said that once you know about the Babadook you couldn’t get rid of it, so how could the Look-See; did it have something to do with the fact that it didn’t actually have eyes to see it?

Wiz: Well, possibly, but there are more concrete arguments for the Look-See being capable of delivering a final blow. And one of those lies in its battle with the Telos-made monster, brought to life with the wish to kill the Look-See. And guess what; the Look-See negated that wish by killing that same monster, proving that the laws used by other supernatural entities can be bypassed by the Look-See, including the Babadook’s supposed immortality.

Popup: The Look-See has also battled against Soot, a monster which is the embodiment of death, proving it can harm creatures based on abstract concepts, like the Babadook is to grief.

Boomstick: But wait Wiz, wasn’t that in a non-canon episode?

Wiz: Yes, whilst it is technically non-canon, it is actually believable that the Look-See can replicate these capabilities in canon, considering that the Look-See and those other creatures like the Telos all exist in the same universe.

Boomstick: Makes enough sense, meaning that the Look-See’s superior strength, additional powers and monster-hurting capabilities would gave it the victory.

Wiz: Well Boomstick, have you come up with an ending pun?

Boomstick: ‘Fraid not, and it’s been driving me crazy. Hang on a moment, there’s another note in my pocket.

Wiz: An ending pun; what does it say?

Boomstick:*Ahem*. ‘If you yourself cannot release, then it will come to take a piece.’
