Newgrounds player how to use
Newgrounds is home to over 20 years of content built using Adobe Flash. Unfortunately, most browser manufacturers will be dropping support for the Flash plugin, and these submissions will no longer play directly in your browser.
But don’t worry, we’ve got you covered. Windows Desktop/Notebook users can still play all of this classic content with the Newgrounds Player! We’ve designed this player to create a seamless browsing experience on Newgrounds, while preserving the ability to enjoy all of our classic content. There are NO hidden surprises (malware/adware/tracking/etc) built into this player. It was made to play Flash content, and nothing else! Simply follow the directions below to get started.
Update (February 18, 2021): Newgrounds Player will now edit a Flash\mms.cfg file on Windows as part of the installation process, to allow Flash to run in Windows.
Step 1: Download the Player
Step 2: Install the Player
Run the installer file, following any on-screen prompts.
This early version may trigger Windows Defender warnings as we establish our certification. If you see the «Windows protected your PC» warning, you will need to click the «More info» link to see the «Run anyway» option.
This player also depends on Adobe’s standalone Flash plugin. You may be asked to install that as well.
Step 3: Play Your Favorite Content!
Now when you browse game and movie portals, any Flash content will automatically load in the Newgrounds player!

First you will want to download the Newgrounds Flash Player from this page here. After that’s installed, go to any video or game that uses Flash Player on the site and click Launch In Newgrounds Player.
Here is a quick click to a game that uses the player.
Alien Hominid
As far back as I can remember, I always wanted to be on Newgrounds.

Alien Hominid runs on Ruffle now so it’s not a very good example to test if the launcher works. Here are some other games that you could test that on
wpnFire
Unreal Flash
Wink: the Game
Chaos Faction
Portal: The Flash Version

For me, NG Player has been working fine, but on some games I get a popup asking me if I «want to allow ____ to store information on your computer», and I can’t get rid of it once it pops up, essentially making the game unplayable. It’s very frustrating to have it work fine up to that point and then it won’t even let me play the actual game after all. Anyone know how to fix this?

Ok, I don’t have that issue and I think I’ve found out why:
Right Click on the window and go to Global Settings
You have two choices here:
«Allow sites to save information on this computer« will remove the prompt completely but will open you up for stuff you might not want.
«Ask me before. « will ask you, but if you can’t select any options you can go to «Local storage settings by site» and allow it manually.

You can always use the NG Player for Flash. The NG player IS a Flash Player with a couple options on top.

That means you either have a plugin that’s killswitched and/or you have a «security» update which blocked flash.
Check Sonu’s topic. That should work for Windows PC at least.

If you mean running the game from NG’s website, then the game SHOULD load with the NG Player automatically after you click «Launch with Newgrounds Player» on the game page. The load option you mentioned is only for loading SWF files/games that are on your harddrive, not from websites like NG. I’m not sure about World’s End and Awakening.
Did you go to your own settings page and click the toggle to run Flash games with NG Player?
EDIT: I checked World’s End and Awakening. The games load with my NG Player after a few seconds.
A blank screen at the game’s page should mean you’re not using the NG Player. If Flash games have been set to run with NG Player(in your NG Account settings), there should be a «Launch with Newgrounds Player» link in the game’s page.
If that’s not the problem, I guess you would have to have to re-install NG Player. Best to full uninstall Flash Player before reinstalling:
Adobe Flash Player Uninstaller (close everything and open as Administrator). Full instructions here.
Remove everything inside these folders (not the folder, just the content inside):

If that’s not the problem, I guess you would have to have to re-install NG Player. Best to full uninstall Flash Player before reinstalling:
When I try to launch the game, it opens newgrounds launcher with that flash icon but does nothing, so then I checked that other thread and it says Ishould get RunAsDate and run the Newgrounds Player on a 2020 date, but if I do so, it just launches the newgrounds player but no game is actually being selected to run, so it’s just a white screen, how I can either run launch the game without just being the Flash icon? or select a game after I opened the Newgrounds player with RunAsDate? I think it should be one of those 2 what I’m missing

That means you either have a plugin that’s killswitched and/or you have a «security» update which blocked flash.
Check Sonu’s topic. That should work for Windows PC at least.

I downloaded RunAsDate and set it to 2020, asked to run newgrounds launcher, how do I load the game after that? at the load option it asks for a full path (local or remote) and then there’s a button that says «load SWF» should I put the direction of the game I want to load there?
I tried the awakening
And Worlds End Chapter 1
None opened, it was just a blank screen now.

#metoo.looks like Adobe’s killswitch also killed the NG player which depended on Adobe AIR to work.

Still works for me, weirdly enough.
Kidray76’s dick is amazing…but mine is bigger!

My bad. It’s not AIR’s fault. Looks like NG Player makes use of the ActiveX Flash Player. Which seems to be dead. I uninstalled it and tried to install an older version and the windows just coughed up an Error 1722. When i tried to run NG player again, and it prompted to install version 32(latest) of AX Flash player, it also coughs up the same error.

Try downloading the current version of NG Player and doing a fresh install. Let me know if it’s still not working afterwards. Older versions would have had the killswitch, if that is what is happening now.
Also if Windows prompts you to uninstall Flash, be sure to click No. The player needs the Flash runtime to be installed.

Ignore previous post. Actually clicked reply too soon. I downloaded NG Player in December last year, was there a new version since then? It’s 21.6 MB in size, does not say what version it is. These forums need an edit button btw.

You actually should see a red pencil edit button in the top corner of your reply. Let me know if you don’t see it. I’ll delete that other post.
NG Player was updated a month or two ago to avoid the killswitch, then updated again a week ago due to a second potential killswitch.

Yep exactly the same revision number <4797581B-471C-4527-80C8-ADBD63BEE177>and filesize. It can’t install the Active X Flash player anymore. It just coughs up the same error I said before. As AFAIK, according to Kong forums, it’s the latest Flash Player plugin (version 32) which has the killswitch, which NG Player is trying to install. Version 28 supposedly still works.
EDIT: Ok. Looks like I can’t edit older posts. Will try the newer download and see..
