“I just went through a really hard year where I lost my job, had a really bad breakup, and got rejected from a grad school program I really wanted to attend. I feel like I’ve lost all of my self-esteem. How can I restore my confidence and start believing in myself again?”

Not believing in yourself can affect all aspects of your life, including the choices you make, the relationships you form, and the goals you set and achieve.

The good news is that it’s possible to become more confident and believe in yourself more, even if you have a lot of self-doubt right now. Starting small and making changes to both your mindset and routine will help you begin to rebuild your trust, confidence, and belief in yourself. [1][2][3]

What does it mean to believe in yourself?

Believing in yourself means having faith and confidence in yourself and your abilities, even when you aren’t completely certain you can do something. It also means being able to maintain some level of confidence even when you mess up or make mistakes.

Believing in yourself doesn’t mean not having doubts, fears, or insecurities, and it also doesn’t mean feeling totally confident all the time. Instead, it means finding the courage and determination to overcome these doubts and keep moving forward towards your goals. [1][3][4]

Why is it important to believe in yourself?

Beliefs about yourself and your abilities have a lot of power. They determine many of the goals you set, choices you make, and actions you take to improve yourself and your life.

The more you believe in yourself and what you do, the more you will push yourself to strive and accomplish your goals. As you do, you begin to believe it is possible to have the life and future you want for yourself instead of always letting your doubts and fears hold you back. [1][2]

10 steps to believe in yourself

Below are 10 steps anyone can take to learn how to believe in themselves, restore their confidence, and practice trusting themselves more.

1. Interrupt negative thoughts

Negative thoughts about yourself, your life, your past, and your future are usually one of the main reasons why people don’t believe in themselves. With practice, it is possible to interrupt and even change these negative thoughts, which can help you feel more confident. [6]

Tip: Turn “What if…” thoughts into “Even if…” thoughts

Example: “What if I miss the shot?” → “Even if I miss the shot, I can try again.”

Tip: Reframe flaws or weaknesses as potential resources or strengths.

Tip: Find the silver lining or lesson in past mistakes, regrets, or failures.

Tip: Focus more on similarities instead of differences

Tip: Keep all the possibilities open and be willing to try

Example: “I could never afford that.” → “What could I do to afford that?”

2. Dream bigger and set goals

People who don’t believe in themselves often decide that something they really want to do, learn, or experience is “impossible” or “unattainable” before they even try. You might not even be aware of how much your fears and doubts have been holding you back, so the next step is to figure this out.

3. Expect and prepare for fears and doubts

If you expect to encounter your fears, doubts, and insecurities along the way, it becomes much easier to prepare for these and not let them keep you from moving forward. What’s more important than how often you feel scared or insecure is how you respond when you do. [2][3]

Tip: Open up around the emotion and ride the “wave” of it in your body

Example: Notice your fear rising; imagine it as a wave inside your belly rising, cresting,

Tip: Acknowledge negative thoughts without getting stuck in them

Example: Notice the voice of your inner critic saying you will fail or can’t do something but then refocus your attention to something outside of yourself (e.g., a task or your current location. You could also use one of your 5 senses to ground yourself).

Tip: Use a self-compassionate, positive inner coach to cheerlead you on

Example: Find a kinder, more encouraging part of yourself and tap into this by thinking things like “I can do this!” or at least, “Let’s give it a try!”

4. Visualize yourself reaching your goals

While fear and doubt will try to default to negative visualizations (like worst-case scenarios), it is possible to override these by imagining a positive, successful outcome. [1][6][7] This is a secret used by many successful people who have overcome their self-doubts and fears.

5. Learn from your mistakes

Some of the best lessons in life come from failures and mistakes. When you view failure or mistakes as something to be avoided at all costs, you are much more likely to give up when things get hard. Changing the way you think about and respond to mistakes will help you develop the persistence needed to overcome obstacles and “fail forward” instead of backward. [7]

6. Get out of your comfort zone

Your belief in yourself grows the more you try new things and face your fears, so don’t wait to get out of your comfort zone. Small, daily acts of courage can help you become braver and more confident in yourself and your capabilities. [3] Since everyone’s fears and insecurities are a little different, it’s important to focus on the activities you’ve avoided because you’ve doubted yourself.

7. Practice self-compassion

Self-compassion is the practice of being kinder to yourself, even during times when you make a mistake, feel insecure, or are stressed or overwhelmed. Research has proven that self-compassion is a key element to health, happiness, and well-being. It can also help people struggling with low self-esteem, self-worth, and self-doubt, making it another great way to believe in yourself more. [1][2][5]

8. Focus on the positives

Negativity can become a bad mental habit that undermines your trust, faith, and confidence in yourself. In order to believe in yourself more, this habit will need to change, and you need to learn to focus more on the good than the bad. Developing a more positive mindset will make it easier for you to believe in yourself, especially when you’re having doubts. [1][4][6]

9. Expand your circle of supportive people

While genuine self-worth comes from within, it also helps to surround yourself with supportive people. Spending more time around people who are genuinely positive and encouraging can give you a confidence boost when you need it most. Opening up to them can also help you build trust and closeness, meaning this can also help you improve your social life.

10. Rebuild your self-trust

Learning to believe in yourself is essentially a process of learning to trust yourself. If you struggle with self-doubt, it may be because something has happened to damage your self-trust. Some of the small betrayals that can undermine self-trust include: [1]

Final thoughts

The beliefs you have about yourself form the basis for most of the goals you set, decisions you make, and ways you spend your time and energy. [1][2][4] Doubts, fears, and insecurities can all work to undermine your belief in yourself, but changing your mindset and routine can restore your confidence. This process takes time, effort, and consistent practice, so be patient and persistent. Over time, you will begin to see the benefits as you become a more confident, successful, and happy version of yourself.

Common questions

What to do if you don’t believe in yourself anymore?

If you used to believe in yourself but no longer do, consider why, when, and how your self-image changed. Awareness is the first step to change. Often, you can trace your lack of self-worth back to specific past experiences, interactions, or life changes that made you feel less confident.

Why do I have no faith in myself?

Negative thoughts, your inner critic, and personal insecurities are some of the main internal barriers to believing in yourself and in what you do. Past regrets can also become blockages that keep you afraid of repeating the same mistakes again.

How can I believe in myself when nobody else does?

Believing in yourself when no one else does can be really hard, but when it comes to you, your life, and your future, your opinion is the one that matters most. The more you believe in yourself, the less you will need to rely on validation and feedback from others.

What resources can I use to believe in myself more?

There are tons of great psychology and self-help books on building self-esteem and confidence. Reading them and implementing their advice can accelerate your growth. Guidance from a counselor or life coach can also be helpful.

What Is Self-Confidence?

Before we dig into how to build self-confidence, it’s important to identify what it really is.

Self-confidence is a feeling of complete trust in your abilities, knowledge, and skills. Another key point of self-confidence is that it looks a little different for everyone, depending on your personality.

In general, though, to be confident means that you have a generally positive attitude and a healthy way of thinking about yourself.

High levels of self-confidence are also related to having good self-esteem.

Self-esteem differs from confidence in that it refers to your sense of personal value and self-worth. This also goes hand in hand with self-respect, which is self-explanatory: Self-respect is being aware of your worth and treating yourself accordingly.

Keep in mind that you don’t have to be confident 100% of the time to be a confident person. Many self-confident people tend to feel nervous or unsure from time to time. That’s natural. You can still be a confident person overall even if you don’t swagger into every room with your chest out.

In fact, most signs of self-confidence are quieter… but we’ll get to that in a minute.

Why Believe in Yourself?

Believing in yourself builds self-confidence. And over time, this leads to a whole host of benefits in the workplace and in your personal life.

Traits of A Confident Person

How can you spot a confident person–or tell if you’ve done a good job of building confidence? Here are some key traits that signal a highly confident person:

These are just a few examples of what a confident person looks like.

Benefits of Self-Confidence

At the end of the day, having self-confidence will allow you to be your authentic self. And when you are who you’re supposed to be, you’ll be able to go where you’re supposed to go. Self-confidence helps you succeed in life.

How To Believe in Yourself and Build Self-Confidence

Learning how to believe in yourself starts with thinking positively and vocalizing positive statements to yourself to build your self-esteem.

It also includes identifying what your highest values and aspirations in life are and setting expectations so you can be true to yourself — which will let you live your best life.

At the end of the day, believing in yourself doesn’t have to be a complicated process. Try some of these proven methods to help you feel more comfortable in your own skin.

Surround Yourself with Positivity

Your choice of the people with whom you live, work, and associate has more of an impact on your emotions and your success than any other factor. Decide today to associate with winners, with positive people, and those who are going somewhere with their lives.

Focus on, “what if I succeed,” instead of, “what if I fail.”

It’s also important to develop favorable health habits.

Eating healthy food, staying fit, and getting enough rest give you the energy you need to accomplish your goals and keep your mind clear and active.

When you are healthy, you feel good about yourself.

Strategically picking your friends, focusing on visualization to act confident, and supporting your physical body with what it needs to thrive–these are all valuable ways to stay positive and develop greater self-confidence.

Read Self-Confidence Books

The more positive elements you have in your life, the easier it is to gain confidence and believe in yourself even more.

Deciding to make small changes in your routine and surroundings can have a big impact on your ability to develop confidence and stay positive. One of the best ways to achieve this is by reading self-confidence books.

When it comes to building self-confidence, there are so many authors who have written about proven methods to help do just that.

Consider reading a few of these works to help you understand how to build self-confidence:

Remember Your Past Achievements

One of the best ways to combat negative self-talk and boost low self-confidence? Spend some time reflecting on your past success.

Making a list of your accomplishments is a powerful way to gain more confidence in yourself. The list will remind you that you’ve done it before, and you can do it again.

Grab a pen and paper and get to work listing your achievements over your life. You might start out the list something like:

If you’re having trouble coming up with items to add to your list, get out of your comfort zone and ask a friend, family member, or colleague for their input on your own abilities.

When your list is complete, stick it somewhere you’ll see it every day, such as your refrigerator door or bathroom mirror.

But don’t feel like you need to stop at “big” achievements. To help build confidence on an ongoing basis, consider making a list of achievements every day. This might read something like:

Any time you make progress toward your goals, that counts as success. And keeping track of your day-to-day success will make you a more confident person.

Use Positive Affirmations

Positive self-talk and affirmations are helpful tools to boost low self-confidence.

When you use positive self-talk, you simply think positive thoughts to and about yourself instead of negative ones. For example, instead of thinking:

“I can’t believe I didn’t finish the project in time. I’m such a failure. They’ll never ask me to lead anything again.”

Think to yourself:

“I didn’t finish the project on time, but I worked really hard, and I know my boss recognizes my effort. I’m thankful for the deadline extension and I’ll do a great job of finishing up the project.”

If you lack confidence, consider whether you’re using negative self-talk. Flipping this around might be key to helping you gain self-confidence and become your authentic self.

Daily affirmations are also extremely helpful in developing self-confidence and a positive attitude. Consider repeating affirmations in the mirror every morning as well as thinking them to yourself throughout your day.

Here is a list of positive affirmations to choose from:

Over time, these affirmations will replace negative thoughts. You’ll be able to stop comparing yourself to other people’s success and recognize that you have a lot to offer, too.

Take Care of Yourself

Self-compassion is part of self-confidence.

Self-compassion combines mindfulness and kindness, not beating yourself up when you fail. How would you treat your best friend if they failed at something or if they’re going through a rough patch? You’d probably respond with support and comfort. That’s how you should treat yourself, too.

It’s important to note that self-compassion is different from self-pity. You don’t want to sit around feeling sorry for yourself, or take this as justification to binge Netflix and eat junk food all day.

Instead, being compassionate to yourself is about giving yourself what you need to be set up for success.

This might look like taking the time to develop skills that will open doors down the road. It might look like being intentional about going for a run every morning because you know this clears your mind from negative thoughts and helps you prepare for the day. Or it might look like tapping into a community that can help you with your mental health.

Self-compassion and self-care will help you realize your own strengths and become your best self. And although it probably won’t happen overnight, along the way you will realize you’re feeling confident, too.

Think Positively

This means that no matter what happens in your life–good or bad–you can look at it as an experience to learn from and use to make your life even better. Nothing in your daily life is a waste of time. Being intentional about taking control of your situation and learning from everything makes a big difference in your mindset.

Being optimistic also helps build your self-confidence. Being pessimistic, however, tears down your self-esteem and prevents you from growing due to fear, lack of faith, or unwillingness to take risks. In fact, negative thoughts are the single biggest enemy that any of us have.

The key to eliminating negative thoughts and emotions is to take responsibility for yourself, your reactions, and your situation by having good values.

Your values in life determine your beliefs, about yourself and the world around you. For example, if you have positive values, such as love, compassion, and generosity, you will believe that people in your world are deserving of these values and you will treat them accordingly.

And when you believe in yourself and choose to be a good person, you will find yourself to be more positive and successful in your own life.

Think about this: Who do you know right now that you consider a confident person?

Take note of the things they say and choose not to say, the choices they make, and the people they surround themselves with.

Do more confident people come to mind?

The reason this happens is by the law of cause and effect. If you act in the same way other healthy, happy people with positive attitudes act, you will soon feel the same way, see the same results, and enjoy the same experiences.

Believe You Have Confidence

Perhaps one of the hardest things to do in life is to accept how extraordinary you really are, believe in yourself, and then incorporate this awareness into your attitude and personality.

But there is no one like you. You have unique contributions to share with the world that only you can give.

After all, we all have our own talents, skills, and abilities that make us extraordinary.

So one key to having confidence is by saying it. Tell yourself you have confidence, and then believe it.

Your thoughts become words and your words become your actions. So if you continue to tell yourself that you believe in yourself, eventually you really will believe in yourself.

Have the courage to accept yourself as you really are — not as you might be, or as someone else thinks you should be — and know that taking everything into consideration, you really are worthy to have the kind of life you want. You are an extraordinary person.

Set Expectations

Your beliefs determine your expectations.

When you expect good things to happen to you, you will be more positive, cheerful, and future-oriented. You will look for the good in other people and situations.

For example, if your value is that this is a good world to live in and your belief is that you are going to be very successful in life, you will expect everything that happens to you is helping you in some way.

As a result, you will have a positive mental attitude toward other people, and they will respond positively toward you, helping you be a more cheerful and optimistic person that others will want to work with and for, buy from and sell to, and generally help to be more successful.

Build Self-Esteem

When you take steps toward building your self-esteem, your confidence grows and the natural outcome is that you start to believe in yourself. Use these six elements of self-esteem building to help you learn how to believe in yourself:

GOALS

Setting clear, realistic goals gives you purpose and makes you feel good about yourself. Each step you take toward achieving your goals builds your self-esteem. Create a to-do list that breaks down your goals into incremental steps.

STANDARDS

People with high self-esteem have high standards. They make choices that are consistent with their standards. Develop values and ideals that you can be proud of and make sure your goals are aligned with them.

SUCCESS EXPERIENCES

When you are setting your goals, write down the smaller milestones it will take for you to reach them. Each positive experience you have with success — large or small — will add to your belief in yourself (making your list of achievements even longer).

COMPARISON WITH OTHERS

Identify people you respect and look up to–people whose standards align with the ones you want to have. As you make progress, compare yourself to see how you measure up and get clues about how you can improve. Comparing yourself to others isn’t always good. But role models and mentors can push us to become better ourselves.

RECOGNITION

Recognition from people who are important to you–such as your family members, boss, or mentor–builds your self-esteem. Striving to achieve your goals will attract recognition. You’ll feel proud and your confidence levels will soar.

REWARDS

Along with recognition are tangible rewards. Your self-esteem grows as you work toward and receive a bonus at work, certification or licensure, an advancement in position or level of trust, or other status markers.

Achieve Your Goals with Confidence

Being self-confident helps you succeed in life. And planning out your goals is the best way to optimize your success.

Far too many people are settling for lives that are far below their potential largely because they don’t believe in themselves. There was a time when I did not believe in myself, and I can tell you, that lack of faith in myself was the source of many if not most of my problems in life.

The way I see it now, though, is that none of us were born to live in worry, anxiety, stress, and pain. We are not put on this earth to play small … we are here to shine our light. Genius resides in you because it resides in everyone. It’s your special brand of genius … it’s what you were put on this planet to bring forth into the world.

You are here to experience joy and love and peace and all the good things life has to offer.

Stop Saying “I Don’t Believe in Myself”

You Have a LOT to Offer; If You Don’t Boost Your Confidence, the World Will Miss Out (and So Will You!)

You are here to share special gifts that no one else has. You have the power and strength within you to live your highest life. To do that, you must embrace the true you … you must believe in yourself.

It’s been my experience that some of the most important lessons for us to learn are really quite simple. Yet, in the day-to-day “autopilot lives” we’ve created for ourselves, we somehow miss the big picture.

So often, we get bogged down in detail. Worse, we often value others’ opinions of us more than our own. Both of these habits work against us.

You need to believe to yourself. Смотреть фото You need to believe to yourself. Смотреть картинку You need to believe to yourself. Картинка про You need to believe to yourself. Фото You need to believe to yourself

Why Don’t You Believe in Yourself?

Who told you that you weren’t good enough? They didn’t understand you or they were projecting their own feelings of inadequacies on you. Or, they were liars. They may or may not have intentionally lied to you, but you’ve taken their message to heart and, frankly dear, that’s done nothing but brought you pain and suffering.

Others may say things to you, but that doesn’t mean those words are true. It doesn’t matter if others believe in you, what matters most is that you believe in yourself.

When others doubt you or your abilities, affirm (out loud or to yourself)

I BELIEVE IN MYSELF

When thoughts of self-doubt pop in your head, remember to have faith in yourself. Believing you do will make it so.

Moving from self-doubt to self-belief may take a little time, especially if you’ve sat in the “I’m not good enough” zone for a long time.

Your mind may tell you things — things that stem from long-held limiting beliefs — that but doesn’t mean those thoughts are true, either. Examine your beliefs about yourself and think about whether those beliefs are loving and uplifting, or negative and stifling. If any of those beliefs about yourself tear you down, they’re not true now and they never were.

One of the greatest lessons you’ll learn in your life is to love yourself. That means choosing to believe in yourself. It also means embracing self-acceptance rather than self-criticism. You need to choose to believe in yourself even when life is hard and you’re facing uphill battles. You are more powerful than you realize … you can do more than you’re telling yourself you can do.

How a Kid’s Movie Teaches You to Believe in Yourself

There’s a wonderful lesson about believing in yourself and embracing your unique gifts in the Disney® movie Frozen®. Unless you’ve been living under a rock, you’ve probably heard the movie’s hit song “Let It Go” (composed by Kristen Anderson-Lopez and Robert Lopez and sung by Idina Menzel.)

If you have a minute, visit YouTube to watch the Let It Go singalong version where you can listen while reading the lyrics (or, heck, have fun and sing along!).

Frozen is the story of two orphaned princesses. Elsa is the eldest and she has a very special gift that she’s been keeping secret for fear of hurting others, as she accidentally hurt her younger sister Anna when they were little girls. So Elsa created barriers … she shut others out. She hid her true self. She didn’t believe or trust in herself.

One day, when her big secret was revealed, Elsa ran away. However, once the secret was out, Elsa also underwent a big transformation in her heart. She was still worried about hurting her sister, but she was no longer ashamed of who she was or afraid of what others thought about her. That’s the point in the movie when Elsa launched into the anthem “Let it Go,” belting out memorable lines such as “I don’t care what they’re going to say,” and “It’s time to see what I can do to test the limits and break through.”

Elsa still understands that there’s a downside to her gifts … mainly that she still must use them wisely. Yet Elsa realizes that who she is isn’t bad or flawed or wrong. In fact, she sees her awesomeness for the first time. Elsa is done with denying who she is. She’s done hiding it. And, she’s done trying to be perfect.

Pretty powerful stuff from a young woman who was once afraid what others thought about her, don’t you think? A pretty powerful message for us grownups from a child’s fairy tale, too!

My question for you: which Elsa are you? The one hiding behind walls or the one who says “This is who I am and I’m proud of it!” Do you value your gifts or minimize their worth? Do you worry about what others think or do you stand strong?

Are You Certain You Want to Pay the High Price that Comes When You Don’t Believe in Yourself?

Failing to believe in yourself will only perpetuate unhappiness in your life. Being your true self might require some extra bravery on your part, but it’s the key to embracing all the beauty life has to offer you.

So, let go of the need to be perfect. Let go of the habit of worrying about what others think of you. Let go of the habit of hiding behind walls because you’re afraid to be seen.

No one can help you believe in yourself, ‘cause honey, that’s an inside job. Claim it and claim it now!

Believe in yourself with your whole heart and soul. Simply put, you are truly amazing … it’s time you fully embraced that truth.

How Self-Confident Are You?

Improving Self-Confidence by Building Self-Efficacy

How self-confident do you feel? Are you full of it, or do you wish you had more of it?

Whether someone demonstrates self-confidence by being decisive, trying new things, or staying in control when things get difficult, a person with high self-confidence seems to live life with passion and enthusiasm. Other people tend to trust and respect these confident individuals, which helps them build even more self-confidence – and so the cycle continues.

However, it’s not always easy to initiate that cycle. So, where do you begin?

Create an air of self-confidence with these eight tricks.

A good place to start is to look at how effective you believe you are in handling and performing specific tasks. This is termed «self-efficacy,» and it plays an important part in determining your general levels of self-confidence.

Albert Bandura is one of the leading researchers into self-efficacy. His self-efficacy theory explains the relationship between the belief in one’s abilities and how well a person actually performs a task or a range of actions. Bandura says that «self-efficacy» and «confidence» are not quite the same thing. Confidence is a general, not a specific, strength of belief. On the other hand, self-efficacy is the belief in one’s capabilities to achieve something specific.

If people have high self-efficacy in an area, then they think, feel, and behave in a way that contributes to and reinforces their success, and improves their personal satisfaction. They’re more likely to view obstacles as challenges to overcome, so they aren’t afraid to face new things. They recover quickly from setbacks, because they view failure more as a result of external circumstances than internal weaknesses. In general, believing in your abilities affects your motivation, your choices, your toughness, and your determination.

Therefore, self-confidence – by way of self-efficacy – often affects how well you perform, and how satisfied you are with the choices you make. This is why it’s important to understand your current level of self-efficacy, particularly in the context of your belief in your ability to perform in a variety of situations. In so doing, you will be able to identify areas where you can improve, and make a plan to do so.

Does your self-confidence affect your ability to perform? Take this short quiz and find out.

No matter what your self-confidence level is right now, you can probably improve it. But you need to believe in yourself and your capabilities before anyone else will.

Bandura’s theory of self-efficacy is a great place to start looking for ways to improve the way you see your abilities. According to the theory, there are four sources of self-efficacy:

Three of these sources (the first, second, and fourth) are within your control, so we’ll look at them more closely. However, while we can’t force people to say good things about us (the third source), we can increase the likelihood of receiving positive feedback by being more confident in general.

Developing Mastery Experiences

(Questions 1, 2, 4, 5, 6, 7, 11, 12, 13)

The more success you experience, the more success you’re likely to enjoy in the future. But if success comes too easily, it probably won’t contribute to your self-confidence. Mastery experiences are those achievements where you know that it was your hard work and effort that brought about success.

To enjoy these types of experiences, work on motivation, toughness, and determination.

Motivation and self-confidence are connected. When you have more of one, you’ll probably have more of the other. You can generally increase your motivation by doing the following:

Observe Others

(Questions 9, 10, 14)

An interesting part of Bandura’s theory is the idea that seeing other people’s success improves your belief in yourself. If you view yourself as similar to someone else, and you see his or her accomplishments, you’re likely to apply that to yourself, and believe that you can achieve similar success.

The more alike you think you are, the greater the influence. So, if your boss has a similar education and work background, it can improve your confidence. If you see others working hard and succeeding, that can also motivate you and build your confidence.

The opposite may also be true. If you see people make great efforts and not achieve anything, that can hurt your confidence – especially if you think your talents and abilities are similar to theirs.

Try the following tips:

Manage Stress

When stress takes over your life, the results can be harmful. Being good at managing stress, however, can be a source of confidence: if you believe you can handle anything you might reasonably face, this can give you energy and a feeling of power. You can build this kind of positive emotion when you learn how to control the sources of stress in your life.

If you let stress control you, chances are you’ll feel very negative. You may interpret the stress as failure, which can lead to more stress and negative thinking.

To be confident, you must be positive. Face stressful situations directly, and learn strategies for managing them.

To manage stress better, try these ideas:

Key Points

Self-efficacy is an important part of self-confidence. The theory of self-efficacy says that high levels of it lead, by way of improved effectiveness, to greater success and personal satisfaction.

Some people seem to be naturally confident, but most of us need to improve our confidence – and we have the power to do so.

Focus on the experiences in your life where you were successful. This can give you the ability to see the positive side of your mistakes and setbacks. Choose to believe in yourself, and surround yourself with other positive and confident people. The more you see the success of others whose skills and abilities are similar to yours, the more likely you are to believe that you can also achieve that success. Combine all of this positive energy with great stress management strategies, and you’ll soon improve your levels of personal confidence.

Minimalism can be defined as a way of life in which you identify the essential and eliminate the rest. When you identify the things that are most important to you that will help you to focus by freeing up your time from the unnecessary aspects of your life, which in turn will allow you to hone in on those things that truly matter. More external things are usually associated with a higher level of success, however the greater the external clutter and desire, the further you get away from your true self. Fewer possessions equal greater mental clarity and focus.
