Mission System Creatures

Mission System
The system registers mission progress between sessions, as a progress bar with a percentage on it. When a quest or mission is completed, the player is informed both via the Mission window and as a notification next to the HP and actions bar. Once all the quests on a mission are completed, a similar message will appear for the mission along with a completion sound. Additionally, it classifies missions according to class and progress:
Shoom reward missions
These missions, once completed, reward the player with shooms. Once a task is completed, they give a percentage of the monetary reward, cumulatively.
There are currently 4 shoom reward missions.
Daily Missions
These missions can be found in the Daily Missions tab and have a cooldown time of 24 hours.
Creature reward missions
These are specific missions which let you unlock one species of a specific creature. The previewed 3D creature can be seen on the right of the mission window.
Mission system creatures are those unlocked from this mission system.
Currently there are 6 mission system creatures (below the common creature missions are listed).
Event missions
These are specific event-tied missions which let you unlock one species of a specific creature. The previewed 3D creature can be seen on the right of the mission window.
Currently the only ones come from the Summer Paradise Event. There are currently 4 Summer Paradise creatures.
The total of Event mission creatures is 4.
Token
A Token is an item that can be directly purchased with Tikits or through completing a quest (the only exception being the Partial and Total unlock tokens which cost Robux to obtain); or indirectly through Trade Realm. They are designed to perform some special action, usually on a creature. They may be accessed in the Tokens section of Main Menu.
Click the blue button on top of your stored creatures section that says “TOKENS”, then click on the model of the token you want to use. If it’s a token such as «Appearence change token», you may be requested to use it on a slot.
When using a Token and being asked to confirm its use, Tokens that target a slot will have the prompt end in «[. ] on Slot #x?», whereas Tokens that do not target a slot will not have a specific slot number mentioned, and will instead only ask if you want to use the token in general.
Contents
Token Behavior
Tokens have two attributes that affect their behavior, which are the Cancelable flag and the Targets a slot flag.
Cancelable Tokens
Cancelable Tokens are tokens that are not spent when you confirm you want to use them. Instead, they will often open another interface or menu, and be spent when an action is confirmed in the external menu. An example of this type is the Appearance Change Token, which opens the customizer when it’s used. Canceling the customizer will not spend the token, and it is only spent when you confirm your changes.

Game Currencies
Creatures of Sonaria has three permanent currencies, named Shooms (Used to buy creatures from gachas or from the stored shop), Time (used to buy creatures from the Time Gacha) and Tikits (used to buy tokens) respectively; plus additional temporary currencies like Wisps and Bells for different events.

Shooms
«Mushrooms», «Mush», «Shrooms» or «Shooms» are often displayed by abbreviating a number with the letter «m», for instance, 450m means 450 shooms (do not confuse with «M», which is used to reference «a million»).
There are a few ways of obtaining Shooms in Creatures of Sonaria. The methods of obtaining this main game currency are continuing to grow with suggested future plans in development, such as missions which are currently represented as small tasks in the game as placeholders for future mission functions. For now, here are the current methods available to all players for obtaining Shooms:
Shoom & Time Farming Method
These methods are popular options for obtaining Shooms over time and usually involve a player selecting a creature with a long-lasting appetite, a photovore diet, or an aquatic creature for the least amount of difficulty to survive.
AFK Farming
AFK Farming is a method of gaining Shooms while a player is not present, hence the name also known as Away-From-Keyboard (AFK) Farming. This is a popular method performed by many players to stay on top of the game by accumulating Shooms in the background while doing other tasks.
The longer a creature can survive, the better it is for AFK Farming.
Appetite is a measure of how long a creature can survive without consuming something required for their diet before starving to death. The higher a number is for an appetite, the longer a creature can last without consuming anything.
Creatures that are a popular choice for farming Shooms are:
Calculating Shoom Rates
The rate of earning Tikits is currently unknown. For Shooms, players may recieve 150 Shooms per hour, assuming you spend that hour not dying. Divide the number of Shooms you need by this number to get the hours you need to grind.
For example, say you want 1,000 Shooms. Since you earn 150 Shooms per hour, you divide 1,000 Shooms / 150 Shooms per hour. This will get you 6.67 hours. So it will take you 6 hours and about 40 minutes to grind for 1,000 Shooms.

Tikits
Tikits are a special, highly valuable currency that can be acquired via a direct Robux purchase (50 Robux = 1 ), by selling any of your owned species, which awards 1 /25
per sale (that is, it requires selling 25 species to get 1
. Internally, the counter to 25 creatures is referred to as Tikit Points, however it is often better to write Tikits in a fractional manner (something / 25) rather than mentioning Tikit Points), or by exchanging shooms into tikits (over 800 Shooms = 1 Tikit).
Unlike Shooms, Tikits can not be traded between players. Additionally, all creatures have the same value of 1 /25 to prevent people from buying out more valuable creatures to farm Tikits with. Finally, it is not possible to sell the last species you own, as it would soft-lock you out of the game.
Tikits are used to purchase Tokens, and serve no other purpose.
Time Currency
The developers have said time will not be treated as a permanent linear gain, but instead as a sort of currency. As you play you will gain time, which can then be used to roll a creatures gacha. This will take away however much time that creature was worth from your total play time.
At the moment, 1 minute of playing the game will earn a player 1 time currency which can be spent on the Time Gacha.
Temporary currencies
Wisps
Wisps are a special Halloween-time currency introduced during the Halloween Event of 2021. This event currency unlike other currencies is earned by collecting Candy Bags for a chance to either receive Wisps directly from the candy bag or by defeating Lost Souls (an unofficial name), also known as ghosts.
Bells
Bells are a special Christmas-time currency introduced during the Winter Event of 2021. This event currency unlike other currencies is earned by collecting Present Boxes for a chance to either receive Bells directly from the box, compelting diverse tests or unscramblers, or by defeating the Snowman Boss (an unofficial name).
Eggs are a special easter event exclusive currency introduced during the Easter Event of 2022. Eggs could only be used to buy creatures, spin the Easter Gacha, buy palletes and plushies.
The only three ways to obtain eggs were:
Trivia
Shoom devaluation:
It has been clearly proven that over time, the general value of a certain number of shooms or currency has decreased considerably:
Difference between shooms depreciation and increase in acquisitive power.
Please, read carefully because everything is explained inside.
These are examples of depreciation:
This are examples of what is not devaluation nor depreciation:
Creature Abilities
Creatures of Sonaria has many unique abilities that vary from the eerie Night Stalker to the intoxicating Radiation (Note, only list existing abilities within their respective groupings).
Contents
Adrenaline
Adrenaline raises base speed by 25% for run and walk, decreases stamina regen by 50%, and lasts 40 seconds.
Creatures with this ability:
Area Poison
The ability gives nearby creatures poison. Currently this ability seems bugged and not working.
Creatures with this ability
Area Sleep
Sleep Area Effects
Causes all creatures nearby to sleep for 5 seconds (only if they are on the ground), and causes a player’s creature to become slow or groggy for 30 seconds (this effect will happen to any creature in range, flying included). There is a 60 second cooldown.
Creatures with this ability:
Area Escape
This ability allows players to paralyze their opponents for 3.5 seconds, take out 7.5% of the target’s health and slows down targets for 10 seconds while in an area with a cooldown of 75 seconds. When activated, it forces the creature that grabbed the user which activated the ability to drop it. It doesn’t trigger Warden’s Rage on the victim and bypasses friendly fire prevention.
Creatures with this ability:
Area Wind Blast
Area Wind Blast is an ability that has a cooldown of 110 sec (1 min 50 sec). Slows down nearby creatures by 50% and increases users speed by 50% when flying. However, the ability may be broken, because it seems like doesn’t increase your speed during flight.
Creatures with this ability:
Autotomy
A dropped tail of a Doragonix
A toggleable mechanic (by pressing Q ) where it allows you to intentionally self-amputate a body part (usually the tail) to escape. After committing this action, you gain an increase in speed by 23% but a decrease in health and weight by 30% until you regrow your tail. It will take 70% of your hunger to regrow it back (or menu to instantly regrow), so it’s best to have a lot of food around when you detach it. After the tail is dropped, it becomes equivalent to a carcass and gives you meat.
Creatures with this ability:
Berserk
Berserk is a damage boost ability. When hitting a player who has Wisp’s Curse whilst Berserk is active, the Berserk user’s damage will increase by 5% per hit, capping at a maximum of 150% damage. This damage boost only applies to individuals afflicted with Wisp’s Curse (both the extra damage, and counting up by 5%). If a player without Wisp’s Curse is hit, nothing will happen other than normal damage, and the boost will not go up by 5%. Berserk lasts for 30 seconds.
Wisp’s Curse
Wisp’s Curse is a status effect that renders the player vulnerable to Berserk attacks. It has a 10% chance of applying, and the randomizer is rolled each time the player bites a creature that has Berserk active. When applied, the curse lasts for 30 seconds.
Creatures with this ability:
Bleed
Bleed status shown in-game
A status effect that stops health regeneration and deals raw damage on the victim of this status, being raw means that from two creatures with identical bleed defense, the creature with the most health can endure bleeding for a far longer time before being crippled. Like poison, your HP cannot fall from this status if you are sitting or laying down while gravely injured (below 13% max health). Before, there was a max of 30 bleed when being stationary, but that is no longer the case. Bleed inflicted directly (not with breath/ranged abilities or reflecting abilities) does not work against creatures with the Unbreakable ability.
Unlike poison, depending on how you move and what pose you are using, damage output and level changes. It also contains a severity of four (technically three) levels:
At around 1-10 base bleed (when staying still and not performing any healing animation):
At around 11-20 bleed:
Beyond 21 bleed:

Bone Breaking
Bone breaking depends on the weight difference between the inflictor and the inflicted as a chance (10% to 45%). It disables sprint and flight, reduces walk speed by 80%, and if applied to a flier, it will force them to the ground instantly. Any creatures with this ability automatically has ligament tear. When applied through bites, bone break cannot be applied to creatures of a higher weight than the player. Instead, ligament tearing is applied.
Bone Break does not work against creatures with the Unbreakable ability when applied through direct contact. Earthquake (and previously Rock Breath too) abilities are the only ones that can inflict the broken bone status on creatures with the Unbreakable ability.
Creatures directly with this ability:
Creatures indirectly with this ability:
Ligament Tear
A «weaker» version to the aforementioned bone break, ligament tearing does not restrict sprinting or flying unlike bone break, instead it reduces walk speed by 40% and cuts stamina regen by half. Creatures that can use bone break (except Earthquake and Rock Breath) ability can also inflict ligament tearing, but creatures that can only do ligament tearing can not inflict bone break.
Ligament Tear does not work against creatures with the Unbreakable ability.
Creatures with this ability:
Burn is a harming, debuffing status effect that can be treated by sitting, laying down or swimming in water. Burn, like Bleed, stops health regeneration though normal means. Like other status such as poison, it consists of three levels, and your HP cannot fall due to its status if you are sitting or laying down while gravely injured (below 13% max health), but in addition, it cannot apply while swimming, and getting underwater will make it to quickly heal:
Creatures with this ability:
Burn Bite
Offensive burn is an ability that deals burn when biting.
Creatures with this ability:
Burn Touch
Burn touch/Defensive burn is an ability that defensively deals burn when bitten.
Creatures with this ability:
Dazzling Flash
Dazzling Flash is an activated ability that generates a quick, bright, white flash that grants the user a small speed boost and causes nearby creatures to experience confusion and tunnel vision.
Creatures with this ability:
Defensive Paralyze
An ability that inflicts a paralyzing effect on attackers for about 4-5 seconds. Unlike most other abilities, Defensive Paralyze only works when bitten. There’s also chances it will work, it depends on who the creatures are. Creatures inflicted with the paralyzing effect can still use attacks, but cannot move around.
Creatures with this ability:
Earthquake
Earthquake is an ability that emits a blast which inflicts broken bone on nearby players with a side effect that decreases the ability user’s damage by 50% for 60 seconds upon use. The ability itself has a 5 minute cooldown period until it can be used again.
Creatures with this ability:
Elemental Breath
A unique mechanic, now released within the game. Breaths have a drain bar separate to the stamina to behave as a stat balance. Collisions are accurate and scripted in an entirely new way compared to Sonar Studios’ previous game, Dragon Adventures.
Current elemental breath variants that have been announced are Acid, Energy, Fire, Glacier, Gold, Heal, Haunt, Ice, Lightning, Sand, Storm, Toxin, Water and Virus. This may change in the future, and more may be added as well.
Current breath types:
Note: unless told otherwise the breath is native, not equipped.
Keruku using its electric breath and bar on the bottom.
Jotunhel using its water breath
Erosion
Erosion is a status effect that represents a creature as covered in acid. It deals 0.5% damage per 3 seconds. At level 11+, it reduces the creature’s weight and bleed defense by 20%. Erosion can be healed by sitting, laying down or swimming. Unlike burn, bleed, poison and other damaging status effects, it will still hurt you if laying down or sitting under 10% HP.
Creatures with this ability:
This ability is activated by pressing Q and gives all creatures around the user the fear status effect. Fear causes it’s victims to move 50% faster but gives them the tunnel vision also given by phase 3 of the Aholai’s, Crata Peretina’s, and Aesho ‘s Poison and decreases their damage by 50%. It has a cooldown of 2 minutes.
Creatures with this ability:
Hellion Warden Fear
Hellion Warden’s Fear is an extension to the Fear effect. It functions almost identically, minus the fact that victims do not receive a 50% speed increase. It strictly only causes the 50% damage loss, and nothing else. This extension is only applied when using Hell’s Fear.
Fluff Pile (WIP)
Places a pile of fluff that slows down creatures that enters the pile. (Currently doesn’t slow people.)
Creatures with this ability
Food Restore
Refills some of nearby creature’s appetite (both water and food) upon activation.
Creatures with this ability:
Fortify
Creatures with this ability:
Gamma Beam
An ability similar to Elemental Breath, once the C key is pressed (releasing the breath key will not stop the breath, and instead the breath key is repurposed into a «start firing» button that begins the ability code’s execution, much like what the ability key does already), Gamma Beam has a 2 second charge up time, which then initiates a 5 second build up to 25% damage (5% damage per second) to any creature over the period of the 5 seconds on the target, inflicting the Radiation Sickness status effect and has a 2 minute cooldown. The beam lasts 5 seconds.
Creatures with this ability:
Guilt
When a creature with the Guilt ability is attacked, the attacker’s damage is halved for 60 seconds.
Creatures with this ability:
Harden
Harden raises bleed defense by 15% and weight by 25%, and decreases speed by 20% with a 60 second cooldown.
Creatures with this ability:
Hell’s Fear
When used, victims receive tunnel vision for 30 seconds, confusion for 10 seconds, and a special «trimmed» version of fear that only causes the 50% damage loss (internally referred to as HellionFear ) for 30 seconds. The Warden that uses it receives a 30% speed increase.
Creatures with this ability:
Invisibility
An invisible Qurugosk on max graphics
Creatures with this ability:
Keen Observer
Keen Observer is a passive ability that allows the user to see the health of nearby creatures (and itself) as a green HP bar over them. It also includes the ability to see the raw bleed and poison values on the creature (that is, unaffected by modifiers such as laying down or moving, which halves and doubles the perceived value respectively).
Creatures with this ability:
Mud Placer
Murlk sitting in placed mud.
Mud effects indicator
Place a mud pile that lasts 60 seconds. Creatures can wallow in the mud (by holding N until the bar indicator fills fully) to double their poison/bleed healing rate, increase their health regen rate by 25% and become unscentable as long as this status is in effect.
Creatures with this ability:
Negative attack
This «ability» allows the user to deal healing bites which replenish the target’s HP when biting. Code-wise it’s just giving a negative attack value, hence the name.
Creatures with this ability:
Night Stalker
The (Old) vibrant effect of Night stalker
A passive ability that contains two effects towards the user and others. The user is granted a stat boost on night vision by having it on 4/3 while also giving their night vision a weird swapped color effect, where green changes to red, red to blue and blue to yellow (previously it was a high contrast coloration effect). Any creatures that are within 350 studs of a night stalker have their night vision diminished to 1 regardless of their previous night vision stat. Night stalkers are immune to the night vision debuff.
Creatures with this ability:
Overseer’s Judgement
A passive AOE ability that activates when health percentage is below 50% with a range that should cover creature’s main body (without including wingspan), dealing 3 poison every 10 seconds up to a maximum of 10 poison. The ability deactivates once health regenerates above 50% or the creature dies.
Creatures with this ability:
Pack Healer
This is a pack-oriented ability. This passive ability allows you to heal fellow packmates, regardless of how much health points you have. A pop up, similar to the menu countdown, will say «A Healer is nearby». It is because of this that creatures who have this ability are considered «Support creature».
Creatures with this ability:
Passive Heal
This is a non-specific support type ability that heals all nearby creatures within a very small range of the user. To work, both the user and target(s) must lay down close to each other.
Creatures with this ability:
Poison/Toxin/Radiation Sickness
A general term for creatures that afflict the poison status (or Radiation Sickness Status). Poison, Toxin and Radiation Sickness have three levels that generally increase in severity after reaching a certain number.
They are as follows:
Levels | Poison stat range | Effect |
---|---|---|
First | [0-11) | Decreases Health and Stamina regen by 25% |
Second | 16 | Depletes stamina by 3% every 3 seconds |
Third | > 20 | Damages for 3% of your max health every 3 seconds. (Can’t fall below 10% health if sitting/laying) + Decreases health regeneration by an additional 25% |
The way poison is delivered helps identify if the creature is Venomous (applied by inflicting damage through physical means, venom is injected by a bite or sting) or Toxic (inflicted by receiving damage, toxin is eaten by the attacker). However, in-game the words are swapped: Poison refers to Toxic creatures and Toxin to Venomous creatures; and we’ll use them as said in-game.
