It depends. Do you actually listen/read to all the game has and smell the flowers, while doing silly stuff, then you can easily nick 100 hours + (might even be 150) if you Rush and don’t care about «what I think is important, the story, setting and exploration) then you could do this on 50-80 hours.

I recomment the first option.

act 1. im 45 hours and on act 4

Those of you who have completed the game, could you tell me how many hours it took and if you played as single player or co-op?

I just finished with a 132 hr run. I skipped a lot of the stuff in act 4 though (never even met a couple of key people there).

Did my first one as Lohse and did a save scum so i could see each of the different endings (or at least the save scummable part anyway). Settled on a nice ending.

Time to do my all-kill Beast run 😀 Question is, do I not get Pet Pal so I automatically get into fights with animals or do I get it, and then just not care about their sad stories.

How many acts are included? Is this the complete product or is there still something i should wait for if i want to play it in one bit?

This is the complete product, play times will vary based on how hard you game. 20+ hours can be expected from most people from what I’ve seen.

If you can remember all the story bits and don’t want to dive into the deffinitions and lore. you’ll not be adding in extra time.
If you comb over areas for hidden treasures with a fine tooth comb and work with the NPCs to maximize your economy. you will add a great deal of time.
If you aren’t using a wiki and want to try out different item combinations to find what helps you most. you’ll be adding to your play time.
If you do the side quests and go out of your way for even more side quests. even more play time.

This game seems at least as full as DoS 1, that game I dropped 40 hours (in a single game) and never fully beat it. This game I keep restarting because I’m trying to find some folks I like to do a multiplayer playthrough.

You can also get more out of the game if you know folks whom you’d like to use this as a game core so you can do Dungeon Master / GM game play.

howlongtobeat puts main story+extra (moderate exploration/sidequests/etc) at 80 hours

I think howlogtobeat is a site updated mainly by people who are interested in beating games quickly and not by people who aren’t therefore all their numbers are significantly skewed.

In my experience the way to use that site is to add about 50% to their number if you an averagely fast player and about 100% to it if you are a slow/careful or completionist/achievement hunter type player.

Unless you are a very fast player that rips through dialogs, issues battle orders using hotkeys faster than the eye can see, and always uses the fastest means possible to get anywhere or do anything.

Which for DOS2 gives you 120 hours average and 160 hours slow/carefull/completiionist. Which i think is about right.

I have about 45 hours and still in Act 1.

This game just eats time! :p When I look my inventory, start equipping and trading it take me half an hour 😉 Then 10 minutes exploring and another half an hour combining if I want to fight or avoid it?! And how to do it (fight or not if I decide)?! And I try stop using YouTube mostly, trying to solve things my way :p

It took me about slightly over 100 hours (105-107) to complete my first playthrough, with the best effort to try to complete as many quests as possible from Arc 2 onwards.

However, I’m now on my second playthrough, and realised that I’ve still missed entire areas (like the Gargoyle maze, and the barracks where you go through to escape on a boat). Also, many of the quest outcome were different, due to playing with different Origin characters, and from taking different paths compared to the first playthrough, so clearly 100 hours isn’t enough to see like perhaps 80% of the entire game.

I’m now on my second playthrough, and realised that I’ve still missed entire areas (like the Gargoyle maze, and the barracks where you go through to escape on a boat).

First run with co op on easy mode took 63 hours and that was with about 95% of all quests (Missed a few odd bits here and there). This was just us running around doing each quest as we can across it but on easy we were killing level 15 stuff at level 12 so its not a fair run. This would have been faster but we spent a lot of time trying to work out what to do next and crafting.

Currently running an Honour mode run with the same Coop partner and I think we just hit 60 hours and we’ve just got to level 15 in Reapers Coast and are about to do the Sawmill, Bloodmoon, Paradise downs.

I suspect this run will be about 100 hours.

also you completely ignore the fact that someone to do something like that would have to play it a couple times first. its impossible to do first few times around

First of all, here’s your proof (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2CazVJ_tj5I). It’s literally the first video that comes up if you search for «Divinity Original Sin 2 speedrun» on Youtube. It would have taken you about five seconds to fact check my statement and I had no reason to lie, so I’m not really sure why you think «proof» is necessary, but whatever, here you go.

And yes, this was obviously not the guys first playthrough. I’m sure he spent hundreds of hours playing the game and doing research online. He also exploited a lot of bugs and glitches that most people would consider cheating. That’s how speedrunning works. The average player trying to play the game normally has no hope of finishing the game that quickly. I never said somebody could finish the game in 30 minutes on their first try. I’m not sure why you felt the need to point that out. It’s a fact that should be blatently obvious to anyone with any knowledge of speedrunning.

Oh, and before you try to start something, I know it technically took the guy 32:04 to finish the game (I rounded down, sue me). There are other videos of people finishing the game in under 25 minutes.

I can’t imagine where you heard that. Whatever, that’s nonsense. Fast players will complete the game in about 100-120 hours average. Slower players 150+. Even 200+. It obviously depends a lot on how fast you play, how carefull you are, the difficulty level relative to your skill etc.

If you’ve finished Driftwood and Reapers Coast in 50 hours you’re going pretty quick. You’ll maybe do it in 80 hours.

I watched a speedrunner finish the game in about 30 minutes. So it will take somewhere between 30 minutes and 200 hours depending on how you play the game.

you understand the reason it was done in 30 mins was because the guy has already played it a couple times at the very least, so since he knew the game he can just blow through it.

251 hours (level 21), just finished.

Probably 98% of it. Nearly every chest, barrel, crate opened (‘lucky find’ skill gets you high end items this way for free)
