Get a-Head of the competition in Minecraft!
Player Heads are a tremendous status-symbol item in Minecraft that can be displayed like trophies, to prank your friends, or used in some really creative and unique ways. But how exactly do you get Player Heads in Minecraft?
Unfortunately, there’s no way to get heads in Minecraft legitimately without in-game commands or cheats. However, if you have Cheats Enabled in the settings of your Minecraft world, you can still get player heads.
First, open up the command line with the / key. Then type the command /give PlayerName minecraft:player_head<SkullOwner:PlayerName>. The elements in Bold should be replaced with the player you want to give the head to and the head you want to replicate.

PlayerName should always be replaced with a player’s name.
SkullOwner should be replaced with either a player’s name, or a mobs’ name. The possible mobs are the Skeleton, the Wither Skeleton, Zombie, Creeper, Dragon, or additionally Player, for a generic player head. The Dragon command spawns an Elder Dragon head, which is a rare drop from The End.
Some Player Heads and Mob Heads can be used in crafting recipes. For instance, you can create mob-shaped fireworks with Mob Heads, Dye, and Gunpowder.
Some Mob Heads can also make unique banners. Paper and a Wither Skeleton Head will make a Skull and Crossbones banner. Paper and a Creeper Head will make a Creeper Face.
Finally, Player and Mob Heads can be given two Enchantments: The Curse of Binding and the Curse of Vanishing.

How To Give Yourself Player Heads
Hey guys! Aidan here, and today I will be showing you how to do something that could be considered a «mod», in vanilla minecraft. This modded item, in which has been implemented into the vanilla minecraft, is known as the player head. Player heads are the heads of any to all players. And today, I will be showing how to get player heads in a quick and easy tutorial.
Make sure you are on 1.8+, and be sure that you have cheats enabled.
Start with grabbing a command block with this command that is typed in your talking bar. /give @p minecradft:command_block. Next, right click the command block, and insert his command with your playername instead of the playername in quotes. /give @p skull 1 3
Your head should pop up. If it didn’t, then be sure that you are in 1.8, and be sure you have cheats enabled.
If you want a mob:
Instead of playername you can also put MHF_mobname and you will get the head of the mob. Any mob name can be used!
So, you could do: zombie,cat,dog,sheep,cow,chicken,enderman,skeleton,spider,cave_spider, and all of the rest!

Minecraft Player Heads Database | 500+ Heads Listed! | Tutorial Included |
* All sections with an asterisk are no longer being updated to save room in the blog for a larger list with more heads! There is a character limit in blogs and I’ve hit it already a few times. :’C
ALL HEADS IN THE LEGACY SECTION WILL BE UNSTABLE DUE TO THE MC NAME CHANGES. AS A RESULT A NEW DATABASE HAS BEEN FORMED ON ANOTHER SITE. THIS SITE OFFERS FUNCTIONALITY THAT A PMC BLOG CANNOT OFFER. PLEASE READ BELOW IN THE UUID PLAYERHEAD DATABASE FOR MORE INFO.
A NEW TUTORIAL WILL BE RELEASED ASAP, AND THE OLD ONE MOVED INTO THE LEGACY DATABASE SECTION.
]This is a basic guide on how to use the new site. A better made one will be released shortly.
The new database will be located on http://heads.freshcoal.com/.
A Brief Explaination Beforehand:
The database stores the commandline to obtain a user’s head through a MC command block in versions of minecraft 1.8+.
1.7 Databases will likely soon be useless as name changes will make storage near impossible and storing entire commandlines for 500+ heads in PMC is impossible due to the character limits.
The Guide:
The site contains 3 sections. The Head Generator, The User Collection and the Main Collection.
The Head Generator will generate a head from a username and output a command that will work even after a name and/or skin change. Frequent usage will result in the generation of a blank command and a steve head due to minecraft.net’s anti-abuse mechanisms. Please generate heads responsibly.
The User Collection will list all heads generated by users (including false steve heads) so a bit of searching may be required to find the head you need. A search function may help you find heads you need if they have been listed correctly. Moderators will regularly clear out poorly made heads and add names to those that are missing them.
The Main Collection has heads that have been deemed of very high quality and will be updated regularly by moderators.
All heads can be clicked to obtain the command to spawn them. Once clicked the command will be copied to your clipboard. Once copied, you can paste the command into a commandblock ingame and spawn in the desired player head. These heads are permenant and won’t change skins so they are all safe.
All tables listed under this section will now be listed as unstable due to the availablility of Minecraft name changes. A new database that has been in development by me and a group of dedicated individuals will provide a new and safer alternative than username heads. The new method will be listed in a section above.
All heads that have undergone a name change will display a steve head in both columns.
